Hello all I am looking to replace the two driveshaft support carrier bearing on a 1990 Eagle Talon TSI, can someone please tell me if the two carrier bearing for the 1990 AWD driver shaft are the same part numbers or are they different for the front and rear on the shaft?

Thanks

On a 1G DSM, the front and rear carrier bearings are the same - MB505495 -- here is the lowest price I have seen on them - http://www.driveshaftparts.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=473&search=MB505495

On a 2G DSM, the front is MR165048 and the rear is MB837577. If I recall only one of these two listed carrier bearings are available anymore; I believe the MB837577 is the one that is discontinued from Mitsubishi so you would have to purchase elsewhere.

Nice link Tim!!

Thank you for the clarification and the link. Conrad

Any one ever ran these? that is a damn god price if they're a quality part!

Not sure if I have the exact same bearings (probably do) but I used non oem bearings when I rebuilt the driveshaft in my 1g. I have poly bushings everywhere, and solid aluminum carrier bearing bushings. I get zero vibration out of my driveshaft even during a launch. I’ve put well over 600+ hp through it for a couple years with no issues.

I did use oem u joints as the aftermarket hollow u joints like to break.

On the 2g, the front carrier bearing (MR165048) is discontinued. No worries though, I just used two rear carrier bearings for a rebuild. The only difference is a bracket for the exhaust is present on the front carrier bearing.

Just U joints and bearings, the lobro was fine, I did clean it out and repack it.

Best way to get u joints is to buy yoke kits. You get a new yoke and oem u joint cheaper than buying a u joint. I got the carrier bearings off amazon.

Have you used the ones from drive shaft parts they hold up?
