So TurboLab has come out with a cheaper T3 alternative to the standard BEP .70. Im not super savvy on turbine housings and their designs so, if some of you more knowledgeable members out there know anything, please voice your opinions. I remember hearing in the past something about PTE housing flowing horribly and was not centered correctly when machined for a holset.

I'd be very leary of Turbolab, especially recently. Several friends have been burned by them in the past few months. There's a bad guy review over on VR4.org too. I'd look at recent reviews before buying.

I just picked up one of these. I bought it monday night and had it by friday. Looks good, has a 3" v band non wastegated housing, my hx40 slid right into it. Cheaper than bep and it says .82 a/r. Its already bolted on the car, i just got to finish fabbing a piece to go from it to my downpipe.

interested on the performance.

I didn't get it from turbo lab but I've got got a t3 .63ar housing I got off a sc6152r. I had it machined to fit my hx40. I like it quite a bit

Very cool. Is this by chance the 3” V-Band discharge turbine housing? Are you logging airflow and/or backpressure and #s? When do you see full-spool & psi? Any slips? Thanks!

Any results on this? just picked up a hx40 and looking for best option for a 500+ hp and good spool.
.70 BEP would be all you need without sacrificing too much spool. I believe these housings were designed for the HX40 users running upgraded compressors that previously had no T3 option aside from the .70 model from Bullseye which is a little restrictive at high boost....especially if you're using an upgraded compressor.

This would be a better-flowing, less-expensive option over the T3 BEP housing but I'm sure it will spool a bit slower.

Anyone running the t3 .82 housing from turbo lab on their hx40?

I just installed the turbo lab .82 housing along with their wicked wheel 2 and so far i'm super impressed. I honestly believe it's spools faster than it did with the bep .70. Only gotten a few miles on it but first pull i did a 1.3 second 70-90 time. Still need to tweak tune some but i either have a fuel pump that's weak or i'm out of fuel pump either way time to swap out the 2 intank 255's for 340's. I was seeing 30psi at or a hair before 5000rpm.

I run the punishment racing premium manifold from a few years back. I don't even have water pipe dented, fit is great. I have the full blown dual pump hanger and have been using it for 5 years now so i'll just keep using it and add 2 340's as the 450 is too large to run 2 of them. I think that should be enough pump for now.

Nice, the turbo lab .82 t3 is almost half price, if it works well that makes it really great. BTW, are your 255's relief valves punched?

Care to share a log with a fellow HX40 user? I see we have the same intake, you have bigger cams than me, I'm on the .70 and you're still seeing 30psi same time as me.

Edit: ignore me, skipped over the whole 2.4 thing LOL

Anyone using one on a 2.0l yet?

2.0L, BEP .70 T3 user. I reach full boost of 36lbs by 4700 on a 7 blade. It flows over 60lbs/min at 8300. Only my WG is keeping me from 40lbs of boost.

I have the .70 bep as well on my 2.0l 60mm HX40. I'm seeing full boost 39-40 psi @ 5400rpm and holding to 8500. Logging 69-70 lb/min up top.
I don't know that a bigger exhaust housing would net me any more flow with this compressor wheel.

I installed the pumps so long ago i don't remember but i don't think they are punched. However i was seeing 30psi of boost before and not having trouble with fuel pressure falling back to base psi.

What's your setup if you don't mind me asking? Jw because I just recently purchased a hx40.

A bump to bring this thread back to life. Has anyone ran their HX40 on this housing on a 2.0 yet? I have an HX35 in a BEP housing currently on my car with a FP Manifold. In my garage I have a punishment manifold, HX40 and just ordered the .82 housing and want to see if it’s worth the hassle of switching everything out and making a custom o2/downpipe for it.

I' m in the same boat... I have the hx40/35 with the .82 housing, punishment racing manifold with the o2 to downpipe elbow sitting in the garage just waiting! Get a old of bse fabrication on facebook, they can make the o2 to downpipe elbow for you!

Thank you for the info about BSE Fab, I’ll have to look into that. Now get your setup installed and let me know if it’s worth it to switch, hahaha. Otherwise I’ll let you know in the next few months once my engine is broken in.
