Don' know who to reply to, so to everyone thank you very much for the compliments, and Vegas smith sure I'd help you out, just bring the car to ny, I'm getting ready to sand and buff it then it will have a deeper shine, I used a fresh air helmet and the hose fell off so I threw the gun down and ran outside, I pulled the hose out reattached but had a drip fall on the fender, not very noticeble but most of it should send out, surprisingly no runs or desert storm dry spots

Looks like you had a busy black Friday! Your Husband is a lucky man. Great job!
Thanks I hope he likes it gonna show him on Christmas

This turned out great! I think your husband is going to love it.

Just curious, what was the total cost for supplies? I tried using some duplicolor perfect match rattle cans to fix up some minor scratches and I'm not at all happy with the results. Would love to just buy a spray gun and do it the right way.

Total cost was about 400 I used shopline clear and omni base coat, the car looks even better! I just got in from sanding and buffing, it looks just like me gs in my signature now, gotta take care of a few things in the house and will be back out to get update pics before 12 midnight, thank you all so very much for the compliments, nice cars everyone!

By the way I paid 800 for the car and the interior is superior mechanics are good, just need to rebuild the turbo, if the car is left to idle then drive away, it puts out literally way enough smoke to have the police pull you over!I took off the turbo pipe and it' leaking from the turbo, how hard should this be?

On the spyder in my profile, I used the rattle cans to fix a dented rear quarter and used paint Store base in a can and two part clear coat, you used the red cap to break a device inside the can mixing the hardener to it, I had the same results I got with my comressor and spray gun

Rebuilding a stock turbo isn't hard at all. The 1st time I did one, it took me less than an hour once it was on the bench.

The paint looks great, btw. I have a question though. Are the bumper mustache and air duct insert taped off? Or did you paint them red?

I painted them red, they were badly faded, I did remove the frames frome the fog lights and tape them off, I'm going to paint them flat black and put back on, but I think I like it stash less LOL if I decide I will mask off and paint the mustache and cover flat black

I use an led flashlight to put my clear down, no runs and no dessert Strom dry spots, you shine the light as your painting to see it look nice and shiny then continue to clear the rest of the panel and car this way, it is how I was shown to do it and it works best!

I painted my 99 n/t oz in my signature the same way, the only difference is clear brand, I used Deltron on the oz, but honestly the shop ine flowed out faster and was less suspecting to dry spots, if anyone would like more help with auto body or mechanical questions feel free to ask me for any advice, but you may find me asking more LOL, I'm not an expert but I can do allot my husband is the expert, but he's so sick right now with a spine problem effecting his respiration, so he' to short of breath to work but soon enough the Dr's will have him feeling better I hope

Nice work! Good to see another local NYer still doing something with these cars. If it's a stock garret turbo a good working condition one could be had cheap enough you wouldn't have to worry about a rebuild. t-25s are normally 100 or so

Great job and yeah I have used Omni before myself its a good paint to use and flows out great.I am going full out on mine since this will be my last time I do a paint job for myself or anyone else, I am going all out doing a black base red metal flake mid coat with a house of colors candy red over that followed up by clear coat.first time doing a candy and I will see how it turns out my dad used to do allot of them back in the 50s and told me to be ready for the hardest paint job to do ever.

Yes it' hard to make it all match, I would never do it myself because I lack the skill

Everyone I'm getting ready to paint Ole miss miss match, should I change the shade of the silver? Don' wanna pull engine/trans ect or I'd go red like the other two I painted, lmk your opinions thanks

myself I would stick with silver if you could get the same silver it is the same color code as my old 99 GST was loved that smokey silver color since it was so different compared to most of the DSMs and it being the same red as the others it may get old seeing the same color on all of them.

So I put it on the road yesterday drove it today, taking off road tomorrow because it' winter up here, drives like new! It' all together and missing nothing, now to get the car over to my parents house to have it wrapped up for my husband to open like a gift in their garage, last photo shows my nt next to it, wish him well as he is back in the hospital again:(hoping he can get his health in shape soon, gotta run back to stay with him, just thought I'd show you guys how it turned out, also this car is wayyy faster than I thought! Once the turo spools up its like a very fast v8

My husband doesn't know about the gst today I brought it to my parents house and an idea given by a member here, I put a car cover on it and wrappd it in three tarps and duck taped and put the ribbons on the car cover, I think he will like it, today I asked him if he wanted to go home he said yes, tomorrow is his follow up with the Dr's, he said can we take the eclipse! So I said do you like the eclipse he said yes but I wish your car was turbo! So he got back we had a few, (I had 3 he drank 12) he worked on my nt by cleaning the heater core and changing the oil, and he took this selfie in my nt, we weren' driving! We were in his garage and I thought I'd share, please pray for him, BTW my man won a 2,000 dollar award at a casino we were are that was giving out 2,000 an half hour, please pray for him he's my world and can' breathe good! Our kids need him and he loves life so much, I know this is a bit much for here but I feel if you pray for him, Joe will get better!

Oh yea here' the selfie, I told him I'm on the forums here and as a mechanic, auto body tech and licensed repo guy he insisted I posted this selfie here, he doesn' know about his Xmas gift the gst! Our oldest son had put a special gift in the car wrapped at my parents, all we need now is his health! Please pray for this man! He loves his familly and friends and can' leave the house due to his shortness of breath and just signed ama to see his kids:cry:he's a real man and we need him well! Keep it real guys 4g63 all the way:dsm: but 420as rock to:rocks: love to all this Christmas and new year!
