I want to be able to keep a clean and stock look to the car without having to go full carbon fiber fetish with a dashboard ROFL

I just don't like seeing the airbag there. Especially since it won't sit flush with the dashboard. I'd hate to spend all the money on a carbon fiber dashboard and then cover it up with a material similar to that which comes on the OEM dashboard ...

And I have not heard good things about Carbonetics. It makes me skeptical about buying from them

Someone should fab just a nice looking cover for those dam warped air bag covers, mine is no better than anyone else's on my 98 TSI. :(

An embossed cover would be great, building off of your point ^

This screenshot of a 300zx in a video I saw on YouTube shows a gorgeous dashboard with 'Nissan Fairlady Z' embossed onto the leather. You could surely do something similar for a DSM :thumb:

Sadly the cars you showed before didn't come with airbags. I like this idea. I know how to do composites and plan to start doing some of these things in the future, after my wife an I get a house. Looking to get that by the end of this year. Once I got a garage, I'll be starting some projects with the community in mind. And this will be a full production type thing where I'll be building the molds.

I guess most of us primarily drive these cars solo and technically don't need the passenger airbag, but is it really worth it to remove it? Personally I'd rather have a replacement cover which simply sits much tighter and 'flusher' in there, than completely removing it.

While cool as hell and exactly what I was looking for, I wonder what that SOB would do if the air bag WENT OFF???....Just a thought and thanks for the post!
Of course I am hoping mine NEVER goes off in the first place

I don't think that it was intended to be used with the air bag actually working LOL.

Well I would hope not but it looks REAL good, so much better than my curled up on every edge cover!

I plan on beginning production of aerodynamic and chassis/unibody parts, so I'll be looking over this area for viability. So keep posting and I'll keep reading to see what needs to be done. Keep in mind that I can do custom bespoke pieces, but won't be putting into production parts that won't seem to have a significant market.

Alao remember since your wanting to produce parts to sell you most likely will need to become a vendor if your using a name as i think you wont fit into the freelancer bracket, just making sure i steer you in the correct path for these replys and people will start to talk and ask costs and that cannot be done till you upgrade to the specific account . Im sure you read the rules already but here they are in case, http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/vendor-announcements-forum-guidelines.481219/

Most definitely considered. Just weighing viability for now.

I understand, just dont want you to get told off but others will ask alot of questions so just be safe in the rules till you upgrade.

And hope it all works out well and that you can help the community out with some nice new products

No worries. Much appreciated.

I've been wanting to possibly make some replacement parts for our DSMs. After looking through 30+ of these pages, I've noticed a want for 1G fenders and 2G sideskirts. While I think I could do this, what would stop me is any hardware that is required to hold the part in place. I think a 2G fender wouldn't be difficult at all since it doesn't have any clips that need to attach to the back, like sideskirts do. If this crowd is into using 3M foam tape, or some sort of epoxy, I don't have a problem getting a vacuum system and doing some CF parts. Something to consider though, when working with CF, it's very expensive for what you get, so a full set of sideskirts would be close to $1200 shipped, and they would have screw holes like the factory ones do, but wouldn't have any clip holders on the back. Another option would do just have an shell overlay that can be secured with 3M tape. Prices would be similar, but no mold would be needed.

What do you all think?

I'd probably be the only one who wants one, but bring back the side mount intercooler upgrades.

Knuckles! Front and rear! Designed with more clearance for wider wheel and tire setups. I'm having mine modified at a cost of about $500 (total for front and rear) by a pro fabricator, I'd gladly spend about that much to have something not modified.

Nope, I'll take one too! Doesn't have to be anything crazy for me, just something that flows a little better than stock, maybe 325-350hp and I'll be happy!
