The windows from Optic Armor are not molded. You have to rivet them in to hold form.

MAYBE a little of "not what you're talking about" but if we're looking for 2G race applications (of which this thread is in), its simple enough to buy your own Lexan (I get mine for right around $100 a 4X8 of 3/16th. That's good for 2 windows) and cut and install yourself. The bends can be made. I've done three hatches so far. The only question would be how you want to trim them out.

Just a thought for those perusing the thread

Not for a 2G that I can find

Call them, they can get it. It will be the same price as the 1G stuff.

I went through this before on another thread or this one. Summit racing is a wholesale company they can get anything any of their suppliers make.

If they don't have it in stock they drop ship it to you.

So remember this next time you buy parts and check summit first 99% of the time they sell it cheaper and can get it to you quicker than any vendor.

How did everyone install theirs?
i ordered the 3 rear window set. didnt relize safelite doesnt have the side molding of the hatch.
im also refering to the 1g.

since this side molding can not be purchased new. i would like to know what everyone has done.

perhaps i will find some ideas sunday at the east coast shootout!

Bummed im not racing;-/

Thanks

Fast forward to present day (July 2016), none of the listed polycarbonate windows in this thread are available any longer. Anyone have a lead on a 1g setup?

Yes I'm also very interested in this as i just acquired the franks fiberglass hood and hatch. I would like a drop in piece but will rivet if necessary

Update: i found the 1g polycarbonate @ summit you have to search through talon and not eclipse so your aware. They do have multiple thickness's so be careful when ordering to make sure you are compliant with safety regulations. They have tinted and clear options to choose from as well. My girl is going on a diet

I'm lucky enough to have a summit store close by. The link you posted is right on par with summits price. Does anybody know if summits products require trimming?

Summit gets their windows from flexalite aka "FAL". Their windows don't require any trimming but good luck on getting them. I will never spend another dime with FAL as I was lied to multiple times saying that the product had shipped. Then the next one was they received a bad shipment of glass and it wasn't right. Your word and being honest means a lot to me.

I found polycarbonate windows at a decent price so I will be saving for a set

Maybe john can chime in on this one.

Since the Summit site says the FAL glass for our cars isn't available (FLX-9008B)

But optic armor..

What are the costs?
What was needed for install?
What are the part numbers as our cars aren't listed on their site?

I have the CSL hatch coming and am considering options.

This thread is from 2016.

FAL stopped making these a few years ago.

Their website lists both 1G and 2G.

You can make your own, at least for the 2g.
Once you make the template, it almost falls into place, very little bending is required, I dont use rivets as they get loose overtime, but if you must, use the big head ones, I use 1/4 inch stainless bolts with lock nut that are use for storm panels.
Get 3/16 and you will cover requirements for everyone.
One sheet of 4x8 will be enough for rear and sides.
If you want a stripe cut the protective plastic to the width you want and then spray.
