So I have a 1991 Eagle Talon Base and basically my entire suspension is shot. It's currently my daily driver and I would like it to drive smooth I have bought the struts and Im getting Moog tie rod ends but I need help with the control arms I'm having trouble finding a reputable brand for this car and my mechanic wants to sell me some for 168 ea for O'Reilly brand ones and after labor im looking at $800 in work to be done. So if anyone can recommend me a good brand that would be great. Also my muffler has rust on it its the OEM one and I was wondering what would be a good replacement to where i still get the deep rumble but without it being a fart can or having some 6" monstrosity hanging underneath my car. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

What is the problem with the control arms? If the ball joint is shot you can just purchase a ball joint (i.e. Moog at RockAuto http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/eagle,1991,talon,2.0l+l4,1103061,suspension,ball+joint,10070) and have your mechanic change those instead of the complete arm. Actually, you can replace them yourself borrowing the ball joint press at Autozone http://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/ball-joint-press , it's an easy enough job and it can be done on the car, unless you also want to change the bushings (i.e. with prothane ones) then you have to remove them, press the new bushings in and install back on.

moog again for the control arms, with poly bushings. did all my own work, check out my profile build

also remember, that "front lower" ball joint is the only one they show for sale, however all locations on the car (6 total) use the same ball joint.

Honestly idk what is wrong with them except that they are the factory ones.... I'm restoring the car and doing custom work to it and I'm not car savvy thats the main reason I started coming here I dont have the proper tools to do most of the work to this car and I've just been finding little things here and there that are annoying like my hatch leaks from the wiper so I plugged it full of silicone for now and i pulled the plastic cover off under the hatch and it was covered with surface rust from the wiper motor and I wiped it off and most of it off the hatch frame but its one thing that needs to be pulled out, so I'm basically just replacing everything a long the way cause I dont want to have to buy another car for a while haha.... Sorry for not being very knowledgeable in this area I for the most part have someone work on my car unless its something simple i can do myself
