Ask Me, Virginia
I must have been asleep at the wheel for a few years, but I can search the internet forever to try and find a good 1g DSM to no avail.

The classifieds here have really slowed down and I can rarely ever find a decent 1g DSM on Craigslist.

Seems almost everything is a shell or exorbitantly priced.

What I am looking for might be different than others, but I'd like to maximize my chances.

Where do you all look for cars online these days?

Thanks

When I was younger I didn't mind road trips...these days I can't stand them. Thanks for confirming that pickings are slim.

I'm not much for them either, I drove 5 hours one way for my current dsm, before that I drove 3 hours one way for the previous dsm. Everything close was not what a I wanted! I searched a little outside my comfy range and boom, tons to pick from!

It's also a waiting game, just check daily, frequently.
Some posts don't last but a few hours or even a few minutes!

I posted a 32" working tv on CL for free just pickup, no joke in 20 seconds someone was on their way to pick it up!

I know what you mean. I once took a 36 hour road trip to get a car years ago and I have never recovered. I can't go more than 70 miles without falling to sleep and that was 12 years ago!

Prior to that, I'd take 5 hour road drips each way to get vehicles. Craigslist drives me nuts. I am not a people person. I put an ad up for something free saying please take and go....not here to BS (said it in polite terms). It was worth as much as your TV.

The guy talked to me for .5 hour before deciding he didn't want the item!

Yes, it is a waiting game. Things are so slow in my area though. I bought my 1gb in the hopes of restoring it, but now I want to part it and get a 1gb 1.8 to daily or a 1gb FWD 6 bolt DSM. I'd like to part my 93 for the GVR4 and the 1.8.

Lost interest in the project.

I feel ya! Biggest pita finding one, but as soon as you see the one you want, it's speed bump after speed bump to get it!

Hope something pops up for ya, maybe a garage queen that grandma owns with no miles on it for dirt cheap :D

Bumping back to life. I can't believe how hard it's been to try and get anything decent. Both of my DSM(s) are crap.

I saw a DSM classifieds list but it takes years to sift through that. It's unbelievable. I can't even get a base 1g 1.8 DSM that runs and if I do it's always RED....a real no no in Virginia...cops love them and apparently the people selling them have noticed too.

Looks like DSMs post up at the rate of one per week on the classifieds now and it's usually a shell....and that's NATIONALLY!

Any sources?

There are tons of them posted daily on the many facebook DSM classifieds.

I checked and 80% of the time it's usually some shell etc or a bunch of parts. I have tried 2 already. I hate Facebook with a passion but if I can find one I'd be happy to scroll through.

Please provide me with a few links.

Regarding the searches you added........

Thanks for making an effort. I have checked some of those already and my experience seems to revolve at looking at pictures of fuel injectors, throttle bodies, or once in a while seeing a vehicle to have to read through a big old paragraph only to find out why their non-running problem should be mine. The format is terrible. Wish I could find something more two 2 dimensional like this/autotrader/or even Craigslist.

I got one! Paint sucks. needs turbo, bring wheels. $1000 93 gsx 5 spd.

Has 14k in receipts on passenger seat including a new 7 bolt from Mitsubishi. :)

Yes, I am fed up with it. I am just going to keep my GVR-4, drive it as little as possible, and hope nothing breaks. I never though that availability would die such a sudden death...but things happen. Once my GVR-4 goes, I am out. Done with the community.
