b00st3d submitted a new DSM Profile :

This is the rebirth of the chassis originally built by DSMBOY here on Tuners. This was a pretty popular build that was followed by many people that unfortunately never made it to the track. He finished the car then blew up the transmission and subsequently parted out the car.

I originally bought the fuel system and then was made a great offer for the shell so that he could get it gone. I sent a deposit and picked up the car a month later when I could make arrangements to haul it from Austin to OKC.

Rebuilding a Legend.

The hatch is now on my car :) You got it for a hell of a deal. I saw it on Tuesday when I picked up the hatch. Was shocked when he told me the sold price. Take good care of it! Bring her back to life!!!

I had to ask him 3 times to make sure I heard the sold price correctly LOL But no worries. Secrets are safe with me ;)

Richard is a very, very nice guy. I bought the head that he had on her for a very reasonable price as well. Its sad that the car was parted out since it really was a masterpiece but this is great news to hear that you picked it up from him and will be putting it back together! Good luck and keep us all up to speed on your efforts, this thing is primed to run 9's again!

I've got the setup to do it if i make the switch to auto, it may go 8s!

i would not call it a legend. I don't think it ever produced anything did it?

It's a car most DSMers know, whether it produced or not. His build was watched by most of the community and after all the years and money he put in it, it came to an abrupt end.

Now it will get finished up again, and get some trial by fire!

A local to me was parting out a car with a bunch of carbonetics parts and I was able to pick it up.

So I'll be staying 5 speed with my new pick up of a Shep stage 4, dss axles and hub upgrades.
Man! Holy shit I had no idea he got rid of her, take good care of it! I don't care what big lady says, we know it's a legend. Get it back on the track !

Interested in hearing story behind it before you bought it. Also - what's in it right now / what's missing. Looks like a shell right now. Right arm, brother! Keep those wrenches pumping

Yes it is clearly a legend looking at those pictures. if some worthy results are posted then it could be. It is a long way from that.

This car was originally a big budget build by a guy out of Texas. He did everything very nice and it was very pretty. It even won a couple of car shows but he never got any track time with the car. He finished it up then shelled the transmission and subsequently parted the car out. It was a build where no penny was spared and every bolt replaced.

I bought his fuel system then a couple weeks later he gave me a ridiculous price for the chassis, and I snatched it up. When I got it, it was bare, not even suspension.

I have replaced most of the carbon (except the hatch ) and added carbon fenders. I have about 20 hours of work left to finish the car. Motor, trans, dss driveline all need installed and i need to fab up intercooler piping and finish the harness. Plus a few minor fab things with seat mounts.

You sure like your carbon, this car is super high quality.
