Definitely a fair concern. I'll let the ECSO guys chime in on this one directly but I'm really hoping they don't starting acting like Buschur, kicking people out of classes for no wipers. The weight limit, turbo size, DOT tire requirements, in my opinion, are the fairest way of determining a "street car". Who cares if it "looks" like a "proper" street car.

Thats exactly what I was concerned about.

Can we specify full interior? IE heater box, controls, Steering colum cowel ect. Also what about windshield wiper and motor. I guess how anal are they going to be about this? Just trying to get a better idea of what to expect..

... "front half interior" required. That means a dash, carpet, two seats, and your center console.

We're not going to pick apart everyone's cars. Basically we're not looking for tins cans in the street classes. Mike is correct, front seats, dash, carpet, door panels. We aren't concerned if you have heat, wipers, radio, etc. Just as long as it resembles a street car.

Mike calm down, to bad I cant go and at least do one john force burn out

Bring it out, race it, leave it here, and we'll deliver it to Ohio for August. I won't make any test passes, I swear. :sneaky:

Well that sounds good to me.. Thanks for the clarity.

Really can't wait for this didn't really trust driving the dsm all the way to Ohio last for comfort reasons no cruise. But hopefully I can get my 20g in the 12's at the first ECS!!

What heads up class would my daily driver 20g car fit in ( low 11's )? I'd rather try to qualify against faster cars than run brackets.

my car is ready to go , can't wait…

You could always run the True Street Class if you fit all the info below.

True Street Class – Sponsored by: K.P. Tuning
$500/$200/$100 payout based on 16

Heads up- pro tree
64.9mm max turbo
No nitrous
No lexan
Full interior (front half)
DOT tires
2900lb min

I'm less than 2 hours from Cecil Dragway so my awd laser and I will be there racing for sure. I really need to work on getting some DOT slicks so i can be in a class that fits my set up better. Pretty much a street car on a 58mm turbo, but with full slicks. I can't hang with the big boys in Street 16
Can't wait to see you all there, great track and looking to be a great turn out especially for the first year.

Okay guys and girls, let's go! We got 5 weeks till this event, and we really need to start hyping it up! This East Coast Shootout is our all Mitsubishi pride and joy! We're getting our car ready for the Outlaw RWD class, which will have some exciting action from some low 8 and some high 7 second cars. A few changes here and there and the Boost Boyz Racing Corolla will be ready to test next weekend. What's you guy's progress updates? Any new entries? Thrashing to piece a motor/tranny/transfer case together just to make the event? Let's talk about it!:D

I think I'm going enter for the true street class, my car is pretty reliable when I take it out so far but still FWD (8g galant turbo). My brother has a nice 2g eclipse GSX open sourced tuned, I'm hoping he'll be up for it as well.

We would both be first time drag participants. You guys think this is a problem?

I don't see it being a problem at all. It's only a 16-car field and there are over 30 people saying they're coming to run True Street, including myself, so you'll have to qualify well to make it into the 16-car eliminations. Now, how many of these 30+ cars will show up is to be seen. It'll be fun regardless!

My update:

Got the car back up and running with the freshened up Metro trans and repaired Precision converter. Picked up a new Magnafuel 4303 fuel pump to replace the dual inline Walbros I was using. Car feels strong! Currently awaiting the completion of my engine harness for my new Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU. I have all of the wiring pulled from the car awaiting the Haltech stuff as I'll be running a bare minimum chassis harness as well. Trying to have the car finished up for Import Invasion at Cecil on May 17th.

Won't be bringing the car but it looks like I'll be attending! Got the time off scheduled. Wish I could bring the car but even if I finished it by then I don't want to trailer the car that far plus the better half and I will probably due some sight seeing. Looks like I'll be rocking the Pontiac Vibe.

A lot of changes since I last ran the car in the fall. Matt Cochran has been helping me get the car ready for the ECSO since last year. I swapped intake manifolds, turbo, went to T3, exhaust manifold, tires among many other smaller things. My new suspension should be here in a couple weeks. Weather I have time I mount them and set them up with Matt before ECSO, Its sure going to a whole new beast to dial in. Not to mention based on time and personal schedule, the ECSO may be the first chance I have to work on my sixty foot with new tires, suspension and turbo set up ect. One way or another I'll be there.
