This may seem like sort of a retorical question, but how highly recommended is it to get a boost gauge before removing this part? I hear that removing this can cause boost spike. Anyone that has done this have any suggestions?

Nah, that little bugger isn't going to cause you any problems if you remove it.

But, a boost gauge is a _very_ important gauge, and you should pick one up asap anyway. But if you're hard up for cash, go ahead and remove the solenoid restricton.

and i think it'll give u like 3 more pounds of boost...and thats a good thing:thumb:
but like what enigma said, before u do any major performance upgrade to your car, get a boost gauge...

yeah its not going to blow you up or anything but its alwys a good idea to have a boost gauge before you start messing with the boost.. ie) if a hose blows off and then your running off the open boost line meaning lots of boost but you wouldnt know becuz you dont have a gauge.
