This record was first set a little over 8 years ago, most know by Joe Bucci with a 10.87@123. A later date he went 10.84@126. If you don't know the story please go to the link and read through what went down originally. Goodwill1. Joe put a lot into this with the racing and taking the time to document something that most was so far fetched. I thank Joe for all that he has given to me and the DSM community. He doesn't come on here much but I will personally send him my gratitude.

Next, 14B discussion group. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/355512-14b-drag-race-discussion-thread.html

Now this has to be the best group to get to know. I have had the chance to personally get to know some of these guys and meet a couple of these guys. The stuff the gets brought up in that thread is about the best your gonna get. Its everyone coming together with ideas and well a bit of bench racing but its good. I suggest reading the now 151 page thread.

I have also had some sideline help from some old school DSM veterans that im looking forward to meeting next year at the shootout.

I can give appreciation for days for my accomplishments. But on to the good stuff.

In march I ran the car at a sea level track and bested 11.0@125 and a high mph or 126. At the local 4000ft track after making some parts adjustments and more tuning tweaks I bested an 11.14@123. Lots of 1.6 60' times on the fwd. Made some bad part swaps (awd trans with taller tire) and some good.

Heres my build thread with all the specs of the current parts.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dsm-build-journals/455110-92-gst-stealing-14b-record-build.html

Time off the trailer Saturday
60' 1.627
1/8 6.928
mph 103.0
1/4 10.775
mph 128.017

Next pass only had 11.0 volts for some reason but

60' 1.6256
1/8 6.943
mph 102.2
1/4 10.797
mph 125.2

Loaded up went to hotel and got up early the next day for the CMI event.

First qualifying pass off the trailer:

60' 1.587
1/8 6.85
mph 98.649
1/4 10.700
mph 124.2

The record pass
[ame]http://youtu.be/INIB1b1NNlM[/ame]

That is the new record to Beat.

I did run all day and had another impressive 1.58 60' and a few other 10.7X passes. One that was a 10.74 with me stepping on the brakes towards the end. Could it have been my 10.69 pass?? I don't know and I feel there is a little more in the setup so next year is going to get real exciting with testing a few things out and dropping another 50lbs or so off the car. Today the car was about 2055lbs with driver.

So 3/15/14 I went to the track again. Heres the new times.
went 10.677 @128.1 with a 1.60 60' time
3/16/14 I ran the event and backed up my time with it being hotter with a [email protected] and a 1.62 60' time.

And the slips for the non believers. Vids will come eventually when I get someone to edit the footage.

Sweet!!!! Man that is some kind of pass on a stock frame turbo. How much boost are you running?

Fvckinin' A man congrats! 10.70 at this level is close to a blow out of Joey's 10.84. Very cool that you finally hit it. Excellent :hellyeah:

That is incredible! The right combination of parts, tuning, weight, and refined driving! You set the goal and now you've done it. Can't wait for the video! Other then Joe I don't think anyone has put out an all-out effort like this. Changing parts up to figure it out, lots of track passes, and one goal in mind.

And to hopefully shut down the awd>fwd guys, at this level he is over 4 tenths quicker then the quickest awd on the 14b! Smoking!

congrats on the pass justin... glad i was there and was able to witness it... man your car moves...

Hell its crazy fast really for any size turbo..

Great example of setting a goal for yourself and doing everything it takes to achieve it. Next people will be knocking down Sheps records and we will start a whole new generation of record setters. Technology has come a looong way.

Congrats.

That's so awesome, congrats!

Thanks guys. NO awd has given a max effort like this. I wouldn't count this out just yet. We need to see what its going to take to get one into the 10s now. You have my help and support Shane!!!

As for my car, Im not done just yet. Im happy and excited with my times and how the car ran all weekend long. I only made a few small adjustments to keep it running well and not hurt the car. I want to spend more time at elevation and really tweak on the tune and suspension. I know that as the car sits there is more in it. Not a whole lot but it will go quicker. Im not leaving any stone unturned.

Then itll be time to do the same on the S16G.

You are correct about the awd not being "all out" but it still says something about the fwd being great for this low power awesomeness! Lack of drivetrain loss and 300+ lbs lighter works out well. For reference my best 60' puts me .16 ahead at the start, the fwd catches at/near the 330' and it's over after that! But, I don't want to make this about the fwd vs. awd comparison anyways.

This is about your accomplishment! I think your end-goal is within reach at this point, another tenth seems reasonable, then you only need an ant to fart you forward at half track :p

True but im still here to help.

I think another tenth is just about it. I want to hit Joe's nos 14b time without NOS. so 10.61 is going to be a bit more challenging. Time for some better hook. Its funny I have to launch a bit higher than in my awd car to get the 60' times I have.

Wow! This is very cool.

Joes record was untouchable for so long. Congrats on the multiple record breaking passes.

I saw you post last night on one of the Facebook DSM groups, congrats!!

Congratz Justin! Your car is really movin!

I wonder how fast it would run in cooler weather?

Thanks guys.

I will find out in either January or around the April CMI. The temps all weekend when I ran where between 78-85 degrees. Most the sunday runs where with the car still heat soaked from running rounds. That's how I know I have more left in it.

The car will e a bit more cleaned up to. I need to find some wider fenders to cover the tires.

Brb, gonna go have a long talk with my 20g about where we are in life.

Seriously, excellent work buddy!!

This is for you!

You really raised the bar! HA
Amazin!

Great job. I think the boys from force engineering should slap a 14b on and see what they can do. I think that is the closest small turbo awd car that could have a shot.

I know you guys are watching. What do you say boys from Force Engineering?
