my Eclipse is Completely Stock, the Wheel gap is Really Bugging me.
What are some Good options on some Springs and or Coilover Combinations, on a Budget.

I know most of you have Ride height Work done, whats your Personal Favorite and why?

Add Pics if ya want i think we all love Seeing Lowered Rides!

Honestly I bought replacement shocks off ebay and some 2" drop springs. Thing rides great to be honest. But I plan on coil overs next summer. Cost me a little over 200$ to drop it 2"

Looks Good honestly, and if it Rides good even better! Something is Belt on my passenger side due to some guy running into me gotta fix that first so they can align better then im all down the Road of Dropping my Height

bent** ^^^

I had megan springs on gr2s and kept blowing my rear shocks, about every 500 miles (very grateful for the warranty). I went back to stock so I didnt have to hover off the seat every time I saw a bump coming. If you go lowering springs instead of coilovers, Id recommend adjustable shocks to be able to compensate for the decreased travel distance, as well as a ingalls camber kit to save your tires.

The 2" drop did look nice and made bodyroll on exits at higher speeds much less noticable, though.

Tien (I think) has a 1.5" drop, which seems to have better luck with the non adjustable shocks from what Ive seen over time.

Not too low but it gets rid of a majority of the gap and looks clean IMO. Rides nice too.

hope the pic works, I'm on D2 coilovers..

bottom photo was both front and rear coils on the collars

it all really depends on your tire/suspension setup, and what you intend to do with it. on my 1g i run 255s so mine is set at about 1.7" lower to make sure my fenders dont contact my tires.
on my srt4 i road coursed i had my ride set to 3.5" lower because i rolled my fenders enough to clear its 225s. Coils or springs choices are going to revolve around what you want your spring rates to be at vs your ride height requirements.

or just get racelands bro

Clean look..... I'm running eibach pro 1.3 inch drop and KYB Gr2 as well. And have 18x8 OZ Ultra Leggera.

I'm about to put kyb gr-2s/excel g's and eibach 1.75 springs on....have dropzone springs on stock struts now and the rides a little hard but it handles alright....after reading dude McGee though I'm a little hesitant to run the gr-2/excel g's now....

I would go this this guys setup. Its a great look and not too low like he said.

I personally like the stock ride height because I don't want to worry about scrapping anywhere. I worry enough on stock height.

I've never had an issue with bottoming out or scraping I've had 14 of these mitsus and I've had everyone dropped 2 inches with a good shock set up and never had a problem .Depending on the shocks you use would depend on the drive quality ....IMO but I do also like the 1.3 inch drop much more convenient in new england but prefer the 2 inch drop.

I'm using the Tokico HPK kit (1.75-2" drop). The ride is firm but not too stiff. I don't have any issues with scraping the front bumper or undercarriage, even here in Colorado where the roads are literally crumbling away right now. But to be fair my 2ga bumper has considerably more clearance than the 2gb Eclipse.

Also, don't expect any OEM shock to last very long with lowering springs. To my knowledge, the only shocks designed to handle lowering are Koni Yellows. Some may last longer than others, but reduced shock life can be expected when using lowering springs.

These Cars look Great Guys!
Personally i have Decided i want a 2" Drop. im keeping my stock GS rims just Painting them Gunmetal along with Doing a Rear Disk Brake Swap.

i was Leaning towards Coilovers, but they are so Expensive!
i guess you get what you pay for right?
anyone know how good the Megan Racing Coils are?
i think they are only around 800 dollars

I'd say it all depends what your into. For me its got to pass the shoe test, can't have no gap between the tire and fender. It may look like your going to bottom out everywhere but in actuality only if your not careful when going up steeper slopes ( driveways), I've bottomed out more in my kizashi with a stock ride height then I did in a slammed 528i with vett wheels on.

@wes_393 very clean man looks great . @robert_ard i have herd good feedback about the Megan coil covers. If I didn't end up going with a shock and spring setup I would have defiantly invested in the Megan's or D2's.

Tokico blues and Megan springs. Dropped two inches and love the way it looks. Unfortunately I just drove it for like 20 miles before start to working on it. Been a year on stands and plan to be at least another year in the garage before it's done so can't tell you about strut durability.

Eibach makes good springs and puts alot of r&d into them being compatible with stock struts. the gr2s are slightly stiffer than stock, so you should be fine. My problem was the megan springs. they are weak and bottomed out in the rear basically each time I hit a bump. coincidentally, they sell the same springs for fwd and awd, so the rear springrates are not compensating for all that extra drivetrain weight in the back. they may have updated their product (this was 3 years back) but I dont think they did. all other springs Ive seen paired with gr2s (even ebay no names) rode decent enough and did not have the same problem I did.

i think im gonna go for some Megan coil's and keep my stock shocks/springs in storage Just in case.
Seen a Hardtop GST running around town yesterday, never seen the car before. Proceded to follow him his bumpers was Busted all to hell and he was Taking speed bumps at like 40 mph while lowered..... Scraping his car all to hell. Made me want to Steal his Turbo setup and just Smack the s**t out of him... its amazing Idiots Mistreat their cars

I run stock 5-spoke rims at the drag strip. They're very light (around 16lbs) and allow you to use a nice tall tire. But the offset makes them look kinda tucked under the car, and they don't put much space between the car and pavement. Especially with a 2" drop.

As for the rear disk conversion, I would look into upgrading the rest of the Spyder GS's wimpy braking system first. At this point rear disks aren't going to do anything but look good.

Not exactly. Your average coilovers (Megan, BC, etc) will give you the exact ride height you want and still do their job, but there's much better options if your looking for improved handling. I'd do some research as the subject has been thoroughly beaten.
