So most know I've been chasing the 14b record in my fwd. last night we had a local shootout which a few 600hp Hondas were running. So I decided to toss on my E316g no nos and give it a go.

First pass off the trailer car goes 10.7@135. Now this is with the air density at 7300ft. So imagine running at the mile high track. Super stoked I make a few tweaks to the tune to keep things in check and then we start at the shootout.

My qualifying pass was 10.66@134 with a 1.68 60' time. Now this is my first night out on the 26x10s.

My next pass I got out of the grove and with the welded diff, one tire breaks loose car pulls hard towards the wall. I hang on stay in it and drive out the car to an 11.12@133.

The semis I get a by run, thank god because the car I would've went against was goin 10.1-10.2s close to 140.

Final round I line up against this awd kseries hatch that dynoed 615whp. He popped off a 10.2@138 earlier. We line up and I left him with a .008 reaction time, 1.60 60', 6.8 1/8 mile, and finished off my night with a 10.60@133.

I'm very happy with my night and wish the temps would've dropped below 90degrees and a DA closer to 5000. This turbo is gonna break some hearts on my car once I bolt it back on later date. Back to the 14b :)

My 10.68 Qualifying pass on video. Listen to all that wheels spin even in second. Looks like the tires are not getting hot enough
[ame]http://youtu.be/CZUuGfqJKqc[/ame]

If you watch this pass I wasn't lined up in the groove the car pulled hard to the right. Went 11.1 with a 1.7 60'

That's some ridiculous mph!!

Nice man. Enough about all the DA BS though. You race where you race. Bringing this up every single time you run is like your saying you're quicker than you are, and you're not.

10.60 is cookin, but not much quicker than the 14b record. At 6.8 1/8 you're barely clearing it quicker than a 14b car that was heavier than you.

Congrats on your driving and your win, that's commendable.

But you got work to do if you wanna break records....

LOL, I don't know what altitude your track is at, but if he raced here, He'd be tickling 140 with that 16g. It makes a big difference.

DA makes a huge difference and so does the 90 degree temps. My aits were over 145 at the end of a pull starting with 100-105. I do run were I run and the DA is a great comparison for those that run at sea level or sub 1000ft DA. The guys from Vegas said they lost 4 lbs of boost coming up here. An N/A kseries car came from sac, and was complaining on how huge the loss was. It runs mid high 11s in sac and mid/low 12s here. His mph loss was a lot to. On a maxed compressor wheel the difference is almost as bad as an NA car.

This is the sort of statement that strains credibilty. DA, especially 7k+, is entirely relevant. This comes back to that whole being overly defensive bit again.

That's more than the difference between Bandimere and GLD for reference. If he comes down here, there is a significant amount of power to be had. Effectively he is faster. :ohdamn:

And I will bring up the fact that I have been running my 14b since sac with rock hard compressor seals. It's been leaking really bad. So next time out on the 14b it should be quicker no matter what.

I am with you Justin. I live in Denver and when we were at the track three weeks ago the DA was 8400ft. Phil lives and races at sea level. Those people will never understand unless they attempt to race in the clouds. I have raced in virginia, texas and maryland and I assure anyone reading this, your car is definitely slower as the altitude and DA increase. I have raced back to be with no changes to a car and was .8 seconds slower here in Denver. I have real world experience so I know what it does.

Of course it makes a difference. But, talking about what could be EVERY single time?

Some of us have the luxury of running at tracks that are closer to sea level. If you don't, and that causes you to run slower, then it's up to whomever to get somewhere closer to sea level.

Talking about what you would have run in some other location is pure speculation and just isn't valid in any other than a bench race conversation.

Not arguing this at all. But, it seems the majority of your write ups following track visits are centered around that factor. If you can't make it to a strip with 'better' DA then I guess you're stuck with what's printed on your timeslip.

Speculation? LOL its a down right fact ANY car you take down to your elevation from his WILL be faster.

How are you calculating DA anyways ARFWD? Is that actual elevation? I dont remember there being a Mt. Fuji in Nevada.

Ok, let's get something hashed out here quick. Why would I care what your thoughts on my credibility are? Oh, that's right, I wouldn't.

'Effectively he is faster'

That^ is the sort of statement that strains credibility.

He didn't come down there. Until he does, and collects a slip, it's bench racing.

The car is quicker at lower elevation. I proved that already and that's experience. Not "benchracing"

I am getting the car dialed in at a track that does cost alot to travel to. The car gets quicker with a higher da.

I'm getting my da from a ketal 4500 hand held weather station. The track is 4000ft

Until it's done, it's speculation.

I'm not arguing that going from Bandimere to Englishtown doesn't produce quicker ET's.

Again, ''WILL be,'' is a hypothetical.

Yes you have, so rather than attaching yourself to the DA crap all the time, why don't you just go to a better track and collect a slip? I understand that racing costs money. If you want to play, you gotta pay. I just remember you being pretty set on attacking the 14b record and you were moving along, but then that simmered. Your e316g number is impressive, however I'm sure it's got the wheels turning because it wasn't much quicker than the top 14b time.

A 16g at altitude with high IATs running 10.6 on its first day out vs. The record 14B run in florida is what were arguing now?

Pretty sure nothing has simmered for him.. he was getting the new trans/tire combo together and has said the 16g was for this event only last I read. Maybe its just been so long that you've forgotten the amount of time it can take to put a new setup together?

If we are to use your logic, should we not just discard what you have to say.. being almost 10mph and a half second slower than this benchracer? LOL

It's a comparison, not an arguement.

Yes, you should discard what I have to say, as none of it involves you in the slightest.

Oh bummer, I'm a half a second slower. It's because I haven't installed my titanium wheel bearings yet. Or, maybe it's because I haven't taken my rear brakes off the car yet. There was an immense headwind that day. Sun in my eyes. Boost leak. Clutch slipping. Tire pressures were off. BOV leaks. Manifold was cracked. No traction. False knock. Bad gas. Turbo blew.

I LOL'd

Guys Phil's point is that we ALL know a lower elevation CAN make a faster car. So why talk about it after every drag run night? Just run and make comments on other things instead of the widely known fact that he is at a high altitude.
Wanna do a better? Just go to a lower track. If you can't, then do runs where you can and comment on things that you could change with your setup instead of just getting a good run in and going "I would have been faster at a lower alt track". We all know that. In a way its like saying you could be faster with NOS.

Basically what Phils means.
Not trying to make a big argument, but in a way I'd side with Phil. Because I think I'd rather here someway you think you could better your setup than going lower alt.

Congrats justin sucks the heat so bad ...did you run the awd civic and are you now king of the Reno streets..haha

Final round was me and the awd civic. I treed him with the .008 reaction and out launched him with a 1.60 to a 1.65. That run he didn't stand a chance LOL.

You guys Aparently don't read the crap I'm posting. I've never complained about the track I run. Seems like Phil has an issue with what I'm doin.

I post the da numbers because it makes a difference in the power I'm making. Believe it or not some people ask about that and wanna know what it is. I'm not just gonna take my car to the track, at a lower elevation and attempt a record. I change a part or two and collect data to see what makes more power as a setup. 1/2 a second in a 14b chase is HUGE. I look for every consistant thousandth I can find.

Ive got already over 40 passes this year alone with different combinations. Here's where the tides turn because half of you sit here and talk about what parts may or may not work. I know what will make a difference and what won't. Where the heck is the bench racing in that?? I've had 4 different tire trans combos alone.

You got something to criticize with my program, get out and match my seat time. I'm about 90-95% sure you won't know what works.

I can say I'm having fun trying out a different combo of things.

Congrats on the times. Don't think we got an answer to the fuel used. Boost levels? I hate driving in high elevations. I feel sooooooo slow!!!!
