You need to get this Line Cummins Flexible Turbo Drain Tube 21 Inch 5.9L 3934084

Then cut it in peaces for the right length.

Then, you have to use a 2g flange and open it up to fit the line.

Weld both sides back to the flanges and you are set.

Just don''t forget to enlarge the Oil Pan Hole to get the best results.

I really like the way it came up, it is flexible which is what I wanted, once I swap to a 2.4, This line will fit with out a problem.

Hope this helps to some one out there.

Dude that is brilliant! Now no one has to worry about a hose kinking on them. Awesome! It makes me want to redo my drain LOL

Nice work miguelmcv, this may be the best oil drain yet. I never found a flexible cummins hose so I just went with the solid drain they come with. Been working for 3 years no issues but this may be my next drain setup.

Since you're enlarging the hole on the return flange(oil pan side) you can just use a 1g return, right?

Nope, you can use just the 1g flung but you have to enlarge the hole as well to match the oil pan.
1g return line is to small compared to the holset line.

Yea I know what you mean when you say can't find the flex line.
I ordered one from the same site and they send me the hard line as well, but I call custumer service and they walk me to the right direction,.

The line I posted before in the site is the right line (21 inch flexible line).

Let us know how it comes out though when you do it.
 
What's the inside diameter of yours, Kyle? That other way is good because its an oil drain meant for the Holsets.

The I'd is what ever mm -12 is. Here I'll measure.. and with AN you dont have to worry about failing gaskets at the oil pan.

Looks like 15.40mm is -12..... Maybe you got me beat there, i haven't had any problems though.

The 3\8 flange i use is 24mm and the -12 line could be bored out to be bigger if people wanted to do that as a sanity check toget the proper 19mm on both hard line sides, i also beveled the drain inlet.
 
Here's my drain setup.

Ebay special T3 to 1/2 NPT drain flange. The opening is bigger than the Holset drain hole itself, which is why the gasket shows. :)

A 1/2 NPT to 3/4" Hose Barb adapter. This particular one is a Dorman "Heater Hose Fitting" sold at most Auto stores (part # 56237). Out of the box the ID is about 16mm. I used a deburring bit to bore it to 17-17.5mm with plenty of room to spare. I would highly suggest using this fitting over the brass fittings from hardware stores, or at least taking calipers with you to make sure their barb fitting sizes are correct.

The drain line itself is 3/4" ID high temp silicone hose.

I don't have pics of the pan flange or install at the moment, but I used a 2g drain flange with about 1" of metal tube still attached. No clearance/fitment issues, no evidence of drainage issues, and material cost was only $25-30 in total. Not bad for a drain that rivals those fancy 12an setups. :p

My other thought was isnt the 3/4 hose to big on the 2g return line?

I really like the idea of that flexible one from holset but trying to save as much money as possible right now and yours looks good!
 
I did about the same thing as wes, except I used a different flange on the turbo side which is 3/4" NPT instead of 1/2". It is odd because the style of turbo we have has an off center square port for the oil return which makes for extra modding, I ended up grinding down my flange a bit.

Hose nipple is a -12AN with a 3/4" NPT. I used 3/4" hose as well with a hacked 2G drain. It had to be clearanced just like wes' because I have that same holset vband compressor cover so I ground it down:

Of course like I said, I didn't end up using the weld in bung as pictured.
 
Just thought I would share my setup. It is a fairly cheap way to do it. It is a 2G oil drain to the pan ( I just ported the Oil Pain to match ). Then I got a flange and welded a 3/4" stainless steel tube to it at an angle and coupled the two together with aeroquip hose and gates power grip. :) Total cost is about $40.

-12 I got the idea from this video. I used a 30 off the turbo and a 45 off the pan.

-10 is not sufficient.

On the HX52 I run a -10 drain with a -4 feed from the OFH.. as do many others. I also measure my feed and crankcase pressure. It's right on the money at cold start, and rises ~8psi/1000rpm til about 75psi and stays there, which is exactly within the requirements per the service manual.

Have you actually checked your feed pressure or crankcase pressure?
 
Different for everyone. Measure your pressure first and go from there. Taking someones advice of "0.x worked fer me!" could very well lead to starving your turbo which is operating on a different system, under different circumstances.
