Anyone got a ballpark price on this? I running KYBs and stock 185k mile springs right now and if im going to upgrade, id like to only do it once.

Woaah, I am so jealous on you 1G guys!!!!

If KW suspensions are rated 5 stars, Öhlins (not Ohlins) must be rated with 8 stars.

How much is a set? 8000 bucks?

A little less than half of that all said and done.
What sold me on the Ohlins isn't the amount of adjustments it had, but the guy turning the knob.

Why must I still be in school and unable to afford this?! I hope these are still around in a year or two when I can actually afford them.

And, I hope you guys that do have the change to spare actually make use of this, because this is an amazing opportunity that doesn't come around often.

These are the picture I took when modifying mine. I run a fabrication shop so I have access to machines that make this a quick job. I didn't have to chuck the lower rear shock body in the lathe to bore the hole and thread it, but I was able to hold them better and make sure they were straight. This could be done with a drill and hand tap!

Front's were easy. Just drill three new holes at the top and use shims at the bottom!

Like I said in my first post in this thread it only took about 4 hours of labor and that was with my 14 year old little brother "helping" me. I think if anyone wanted the rear shocks modified like I did them it would only run about $80 in labor and the cost of the rod ends.

I do love these things...

/A

*sigh* I hope these sell.... so that there still around when I have the cash to blow on them I can buy a set.

Sorta like Gixxerdrews body kit for the 2g, limited, expensive but worth every penny. I swear if that kit was put into production...

Each kit is custom made, it's not like there's a batch being made and then they're sold out. Muellerized buys all the parts for each kit, does the customizing and then ships them out individually. Maybe at some point they'll decide to not customize them anymore, but I'm sure if someone wants a set they'll hold on to the recipe and make a set if it's ordered.

Gixxerdrew's body kit required a mold to continually be made, which is why he wouldn't continue to make his kits available. He's also not a vendor that produces kits like that for a living.

Mine are the road and track ones. I do not know about the muellers ones! Like I said they ride a little stiff on the softest setting. Probably just me and being old, but a little softer would help when I have my family in the car. Having been 20 years ago I would have them set stiffer, just my old age I guess!

Well thats good news.

Wow, Some great things have happened since I have been gone... :)

Now, If I had not picked up a new motor for the Laser and a entire suspension upgrade for my Mazda2, I would be buying these right now!

Well at least I know what I need to save up for next.... awesome thread!

OK so the setup that was built and tested on turboAWDfanatic's car is now sitting on mine. Let me confirm this is unlike anything I've felt in my life. Now I've only been in a track prepped 911 once, and passed a few on my JIC's a few times, but this setup is ridiculous. Coupled with the Whiteline 26mm bar in the rear and Jay Racing's active toe eliminator this thing is welded to the ground. Something worthy of noting besides lateral stability is the acceleration and braking differences. They are substantial and very noticeable. Since I've removed my antilock, I need to relearn my lockup threshold since it is MUCH earlier than with the JIC's. I was skeptical that it would be night and day as Mr. Mueller advertised...but it is NIGHT AND DAY! Save your pennies boys and girls...this is THE KIT to get.

ABSOLUTELY agree 100%! I finally scraped together the cash to get my own set and after having them on for a week I'm convinced they are worth every penny! This car is a whole new beast. I can barrel into turns at insane speeds and it sticks like never before. Leaps and bounds past the JICs! My favorite aspect of the new setup is how stable and predictable the handling is over uneven surfaces. No more white knuckling the steering wheel and praying when spotting a bump/crack/imperfection on the road/track mid-turn like you had to with the JICs. It just soaks it up and maintains it's line. The best part is I've only driven it on street tires...I can't wait to slap on a set of R compounds to see the true handling potential this car has now.

Another thing to remember is that Mueller hasn't even put a whole lot of time into this setup yet. I'm sure as he tests and develops different spring rates, ride heights, and alignment settings that it will only get better. Save your pennies, this setup is worth it!

I believe I mentioned it in my earlier post in this thread, but I am also running an upgraded rear sway bar, the original DSS toe eliminator kit, and poly bushings up front. Next on the list is an entire set of rear poly bushings for suspension and diff/sub-frame, followed by upgrading my rear diff with an evo unit.

In the dsm ! gold will hold its value also silver only a dsm can you love one day and hate the next =)
