Whats up guys.
After 8 years of DSM love, which included two 1g, GST's, a Celica GT4 and four 2g GST's, I finally found a beautiful GSX.

I picked her up for a steal.

Many more pictures to come.

PLANS: Mild Bolt on build. Can will see normal DD use, AutoX once a month, and possibly 2 or 3 track sessions.

I now understand exactly why everyone says to get an AWD DSM. :)

PICS!!

Subscribed. Can't wait for our mod date man.

Instead of paying all that labor, you could easily do that work yourself. Just a thought.

My mechanic spent 4 hours going over the whole car for me while is was at work. He bled the whole system, redid my oil and gave me a real good right up on what the car needs, maintenance wise. He charged me $31.46 for it all.

I'm getting the control arms from RockAuto and having him put them all in for maybe $200ish.

And besides, its 30 degrees out and I don't have a garage to work in, or else I would tackle the job myself.

Subscribed. Can't wait for our mod date man.

Its going to be a blast!

Nice ride.

Pictures of the gt4 please. And more of the current project:thumb:

Car looks good and pulls pretty good for a 13g. Good pick up

Was good to hangout yesterday man.

Much more to come.

Did you use an OEM o2 housing gasket for the Megan o2 when installing onto the turbo?

Had a big weekend!
Huge thanks to Justin (99ECLIPSEGSXDSM) for all the help/tools/insight/extra hands.

Starting the tear down, it was obvious the PO didnt know and or maybe care about doing things the right way or using the correct parts. He used the wrong sized bolts, had misc. missing washers and gaskets. The oil feed line was about 2 feet longer than it needed to be. Justin and I where very surprised as to how easy everything came off though. :thumb:

We removed:
- Radiator & Upper/Lower Hose
- Intake
- Lower IC piping
- Oil Lines

Boom! Installed.
Rebuilt 14b Turbo, FP Manifold, Megan O2 Housing. :hellyeah:

Justin was expecting 1 leak upon start up and driving, I was expecting 2 leaks. All went great and she dripped maybe two or three drops of coolant! Tightened the lower hose and she has been dry ever since.

The next day I decided to rip apart the old setup. Found some interesting things!
NO WONDER I wasn't making any boost! Guess ive been running N/A AWD for a while. LOL

Needless to say, the car is a whole new animal. Going from a cracked/leaky 2g manifold with a blown/ruined 13g to a FP manifold and a rebuild 14b, has been night and day! But dyno says at least 50hp :p Boost is made easy, I can actually hear my turbo spool up and my BOV. Car runs awesome!

What tires are you running?

Tires sadly didn't make my budget this year. Although, im trying to find an extra cheap set of wheels to set up for spring/summer/AX use only.

But I will be on 245's, Khumo ASX's for the time being. They are brand new and came with the car so I cant just get rid of em.

They should make you drive better when you get a better set.

What the hell....there's no turbine heat shield on that 13G. Wonder where it went?

Probably down and out the exhaust. Along with the rest of the small metal chunks. On the old O2 sensor I pulled out. You could scratchs and nicks. Probably from metal hitting it on the way out.

I pulled it apart and was like....WTF...no wonder, after all the boost leak tests, gasket checks, etc....I still couldn't build boost. It all made sense.
