yes i am doing my rebuild right now and want to know what to run on it? i am shooting for a 400-500hp+ build. im going to be running pump gas for now till i get it done and running, then i am going to go to E85? i have did research before i started my build and was going to go with a 20g but now second guessing myself? any help is great. thanks

i know i will need a 1000cc injector or bigger so help on that will be great also? :thumb:

Damn near everyone on here is going to tell you to run a Holset because it's the new "cool" thing in the DSM community.

400-500 HP is a huge window so I would get a little more specific and also what kind of budget are you dealing with? Are you looking to stay with a DSM flange or are you willing to go to a T3 or something else?

i want to stay with a stock manifold and everything but i dont want to spend a 1000 bux on a turbo. is a hx35 a good turbo? and i just dont understand a hole lot so if u can explain? i know there is a t3 flange just dont get turbos you know.

If you "dont get turbos" you're modifying the completely wrong platform.
Searching is your best friend.

FP3065, FP Red ( new or old) or PTE 6262. I wouldn't run a holset personally.

Have some bad luck with one? Lol

I wouldn't run a holset personally. Search a bit before you go with a 6262 or any other journal bearing PTE. I can't recommend forced performance enough as I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

ok i will look before i decide. i can get some good prices on used turbo for a buddy i know and he has a couple big turbos? is the HX35 good to go with on a build like this? or should i get another he has?

Can someone explain to me what's wrong with a Holset other than it's "cool"? Hard facts of physical issues with them?

I mean, perhaps would should pay for massively over priced, slower spooling, sometimes exploding turbochargers instead of running 9's on a junkyard turbo, right?

OP- My only advice is do research. It would take pages just to explain all your bolt-on options. If your interested in 500hp, look into a Holset. Also look into the supporting mods that it takes to safely handle 500hp.

I have no personal experience with the journal bearing PTE's, I've heard good and bad things, but I have not one bad thing to say about my PTE ball bearing 6262. Great turbo and could meet or exceed your goals of 500whp in a t3/t4 form.

I'd hardly call pre-2004 "new".

Holsets are great turbos if you take the time to feed them an appropriate amount of oil and have a properly sized drain.

It's the retards who feed them with 100+psi of oil pressure and use a -10an drain line who destroy them and give them a bad name.

It's not the "cool" thing. it's the best bang for the buck

Calm down everyone. Like I said in my first post, everyone is going to recommend a holset. I never said they were bad or inferior in anyway. I simply said that he should research his options before just buying a turbo that people suggest.

if i went with a Holset what one would i go with? i have a friend that has a Hx35 for sale. would that be a god turbo?

ok if i put pictures of it will it help? and that blots to stock 4g63 right. the manifold and o2 housing will hook up stock or no?
