The obx manifolds have a lifetime warranty last I remember, but not sure how good it really is.
Should be fine as long as you got a real OBX manifold and not the Chinese imitation. If you have an imitation, OBX will probably tell you to go pound salt.

Real:

OBX Tuner 321 Turbo Manifold 00-05 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.4L T3 4G64 DSM SS321 | eBay

Suspected Imitation:

OBX Polished SS321 T3 Turbo Header Manifold Exhaust 01-05 Eclipse 2.4L 4G64 | eBay

^ Notice the difference in weld and flange quality between the two pieces...to me the second manifold looks just like any other eBay special. Gasket quality is also far shittier on the suspected imitation, and the badge is also upside down (?) and not on the same runner as the real manifold.

I'm running a T3 .70 BEP housed HX40 on an open T3 Redjack Racing manifold. The turbine housing clears the block with 3" to spare. The compressor cover is maybe 1/2-3/4" away from my radiator (1g Fluidyne) in my 2g. A slim fan is a MUST with this setup...but I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Timeslips and broken records to prove it. :D

Well i can now also say that the CX Racing/punishment racing budget manifold is garbage. On only 15psi the wastegate flange and pretty much whole right side of the manifold cracked off dont waste your money on it!!

Did you buy it from punishment? If so how long ago and are you the original buyer?

They have a 1 year warranty

I've been running a "real one" about 2 years now. I braced the WG tube and it still cracked. OBX sent me another. It craked within a week. I have since stop drilled and rewelded it about 3 times. They aren't 16g material as they claim. At least not the WG tube. The rest of the manifold has held up fine. Local friend bought the imitation. Same deal. cracks in the same place. If you cut the tube off and just left enough to reweld the flange on pointing straight up I think you would be ok.

Fp manifold with bep housing on hx40 fits fine dented my water pipe a little bit, but fits fine with the stock fan on the passenger side, external wastegate on punishment housing is to big for the driver side fan to fit.

I bought it new from CX Racing on ebay and it says no warranty in the description but its the exact same manifold as Punishments ive only had it on my car since spring. Im very disappointed in the quality of it.

So Punishment makes the CX Racing and OBX Manifold that sells for more than Punishments? Or is it like some other no name company that sells to these places? I read a long time ago that the Mitsu Flanged Manifold was outsourced, but Punishment inspects it and rewelds things. If it cracks it cracks. Nothing a very easy to come by welder can fix.

I just got mine a few minutes ago directly from punishment, one day shipping!

I have another question, you guys say don't 'waste' your money on it... As apposed to what? I haven't found another manifold around the same price that will work with a Holset. I know not one has been posted in here. I had an Ebay one I cute a pie out of to make the turbo fit but it was centered, so the angle on the o2/dp would have to be severe. Too Severe.

Are you dumping the wastegate to atmosphere? I plan on building a dump directly back into the Exhaust. I figure that would be very good bracing for my small GT Series Wastegate.

I say that because I "wasted" my money it only lasted a few months and I wasn't running very much boost at all. So in my opinion I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I got my manifold repaired by a local performance shop lets see how long it lasts now.

You really need to support that WG tube. It will crack right along the new welds in the same place. Instead of dumping the WG to atmosphere, route it back into the down pipe. The extra tubing on the exit of the WG will help to support it. Or possibly weld on gussets. like so....

I added a brace and built up the weld with a stick welder last time around. Hasn't cracked since 9/11 this time. Looks horrible, but I stopped caring a few months back.

Recently bought a BEP housing and I'm slowly collecting what I need to go over to a cast mani/BEP setup.

It has support rods on the wg flange already im getting the redjack racing twin scroll manifold over the winter anyway this manifolds just temporary till i get the new one.

had the same exact issue with my manifold, cracked the wastegate tube 5 times even after shortening the pipe and adding a brace, i finally just shortened it to about an inch long and rewelded completely around it about 1/2 inch wide and added a beefier support

Holset HX35 turbo. I got a manifold from eBay that was $175. It was called like. VP tubular manifold T3. I don't remember. 2in piping

Holset hx35 in bep bolton housing, with pr recirc 38mm wg. Using a tubular manifold from eBay that is sold in the "16g kit". Clears the block perfect had to tap my n/t water pipe with a hammer twice and it cleared fine.

So its just the WG Tube cracks? I wonder why? Mine has a V Brace on the bottom of the wg flange. And I'm welding the WG Dump back into the downpipe with no flex pipe.

I got mine from punishment. Looks like there are welds over the original welds.

Its not like the WG is even that heavy vs the turbo! LOL.

Heres what mine used to look like.

If everyone is having issues with the WG port cracking, why not try a manifold that utilizes the WG tube on the top center(ERL/OBX) or a DNP/Megan racing style?

I saw a link to an OBX manifold that is a "ERL look alike", I was really pumped until I saw it was a 2.4l listing. I have yet to find one for a 2.0.

Thus far it seems like us holset users have these options:

.55 bolt on housing:
stock
evo manifold
FP cast mani

.70 t3 housing
ERL
OBX(if one can be found)
RedJack
Dark Performance
Ebay
Punishment Racing Budget
SLS
JMF Bottom Mount TS
MAP Performance hot parts kit
OBX Ramhorn

OTHER:
DNP t4

The OBX, Erl look alike will fit. But it's crap. Mine cracked really quick. Rewelded it and it cracked again. Not the welds. The piping itself. So scratch that one from the list.

It served the purpose for what I needed it for though.

Question, Has anyone gone from the Punishment to any other manifold and had issues with their DP's not fitting due to different turbo placement? Thats what I'm worried about. If this manifold dies on me badly, I have a full custom turbo back.

I am using a ebay T3 manifold with 38mm wastegate on it with no issues but it has a metal bracket under the wastegate pipe so it helps supports the weight.

FWIW mine is still going strong! LOL. The last weld from June-2012 on the WG pipe seemed to do the trick. If you could call it welding.... :coy:
