What turbo for high compression??

What rods are you using is another question. The 420a rods are pretty weak and with high compression its gonna make power very easily but also starin the rods more.

If the OP has 10.5:1 pistons then he has aftermarket rods. You dont want to hang Wiseco or JE full floating pistons on a press fit rod.

OP like I posted before and a few others have touched on look into a water/meth system it will benefit you now being N/A with the correct nozzle and a quick nozzle change when you go turbo. This will give you some more 'wiggle room' in your tune.

When I got turbo I plan to run one nozzle pre turbo the one nozzle pre throttle body/ post Intercooler.

Take a look at Devils own methanol they have a lot of info on their site.

thanks man ill look into it. and yeah i have eagle rods LOL only thing stock in my motor is the crank.
 
IMO, go with a middle ground of 9.x:1. Still higher CR then typical setups, but you still have a little bit wider of a window. I have to agree the 20G is an excellent turbo. But alot is in the tune as well, if you lean out the low boost, you can get spool to higher boost quicker, theres always tricks (regardless of CR). I dont disagree that High CR + boost is more effiecent, the motor works more. I would say a mid CR engien will get a little of the Pros from both sides. Hell 300 on a 8.5:1 motor isnt really that hard either..yes it takes more, but in the large scheme, not that much more. If your dead set on runing the 10.5, then go with a 16 or 20g as you wont be using the high boost areas of that turbo anyway. Hope you can tune ;)

I already have my motor built and in my car it has 4500 miles on it so yeah im dead set on high cr since its what I'm working with. I live outside of vegas so I would have a shop tune it of course.
 
If your town has E85 then run that. Amazing stuff!
It will give you a much better margin to tune with.
E85 and 20g or HX35 gets my vote!

This would have been my suggestion right from the get go. E85 will give you much greater room for error.

As per the OP's original question, get a gtr30. That frame garrett plus e-85 can put you closer to 400whp easy.
 
Even if the OP has to change a few things around with his fuel setup it is worth it in the long run.
You dont take near the chance of getting knock with E85 as you would on 91-93.
Spend $500 now to save yourself thousands if you blow a motor...
Just my opinion though
 
My car ran great, it broke an oil pump ring gear in 3 spots on the Dyno. Freak accident or a bad one put of the box. I was running E85. I have a build thread on it somewhere. Now going 2.4 and totally different set up.
 
I have a built motor 10.5 compression, crower 2 camshafts and im wondering what would be the best turbo to run on that? Im right around 190 hp now and I only want around 300hp. Any suggestions would be great or personal experience with this topic. Thanks
Something with a larger turbine wheel or higher a/r number on the turbine housing to deal with the additional amount of exhaust energy. A small turbine or small a/r housing will funnel the exhaust energy into too small of a space, raising backpressure and EGT's which are NOT what you'll want to be dealing with on a high-compression application.

Some guys have said a 50-trim, and that would be fine as well....but if it were possible to still get this built, I'd say use something like a 60-1 compressor with a T350 turbine wheel in .63 a/r T3 housing. PTE used to call that wheel combo a SC6052E. That should give you an easy 300whp at just 15psi or so, while reaching full boost in the 4200-4300rpm range and remaining very easy to tune on pump fuel.
