The top metal one, it fits better than the actual gasket on the bottom. The bottom one wont fit over the larger bolts. And this came with a complete gasket kit. What is it for?

No, Not what I'm asking. Yes its a good gasket, its brand new. I'm asking what the top one is. I've never seen it before. Every time I've bought a gasket from Autozone they look like the bottom one. But this Gasket kit came with that top one. What is it for?

That top gasket I believe is the intake manifold gasket. Look to the left it gets wide for the egr valve. Your gasket set may have came with both 1g and 2g intake gaskets.

As mentioned, installed one looks like a MLS gasket (2 or 4 layer). I believe these are OEM, would take either one over the "composite" style gasket you also have pictured. The MLS ones can typically be re-used as well.

NO, the intake gasket is different and is flat, plus it has a hole where you stated (wide left side) for the EGR, which this one is sealed and has and oval edge around the runners.

They also did a switch on the outer lower bolts on the 7bolt heads to have larger studs. The 6bolts heads had same size studs all around.

Its a two layer Metal Gasket. But I've never seen it before. I've only seen the bottom gasket. Every one from autozone is the one on the bottom. The Ports on the top metal one are larger.

The bottom one I myself and my friends and everyone I know always has issues with blowing out.

So your all saying I should only use the top one, the metal one?

They both came with the same gasket kit.

As for the intake gasket, its WAYYYY different

I have the 2 layer exhaust gasket on right now. Came in a topline gasket set i just purchased from extreme psi. The OEM is 3 layer and felpro is the bottom one in the first pic.

Correct, the oem ones are mls, as are quite a few other aftermarket companies. Felpro does make that composite one, they are trash, and will blow out in no time.

im having great succes with the topline gasket kit. the only gasket i dont like is the valve cover gasket. its leaking right now as we speak. it didnt fit like oem and i had to stretch it a little to get it to fit into the valve cover. it came with an assortment of extra gaskets that im assuming were for a 6bolt or non turbo 4g but id definitly steer clear of that felpro exhuast gasket. use the MLS...
