i need new rims before i get carbon hood hatch...hope good deals are still around ina year LOL

Thats my car above in the quote...

Ok im going to try and and write this without swearing...

To my knowledge, i did not buy that carbon trunk or tailight from you and if i did, then you seem to have multiple company/screen names which solves alot of questions i had about you.

That trunk is nothing to brag about either, im currently getting a new one since as you can see in the picture... it doesnt sit flush on the left side.... and was made with cheap resin that turns yellow in the sun even after i had it resprayed with top shelf clear coat

Second, i would never recommend you to anyone not even my enemies. By far THE WORST TRANSCTION i have gone through. Talking about months and months of same excuses to get my mirror brackets wrapped in carbon fiber... i can only image what getting a hood and hatch from you would be like

Ended up having to contact Ludacris twice to get your attention when you didnt bother replying to me

END
I'll share my .02 here. I had an Autopower roll bar for sale on here. CFEclipse and I had swapped a few PMs and then emails about trading some carbon parts for my bar, and I was more than happy with the idea of the deal, but it never went beyond that.

After a couple weeks of me sending numerous PMs, I finally got one back that claimed the parts were almost ready. After that nothing. So long story short, I ended up selling it to someone else. I can't make any claims on the quality of the products, but I can say from personal experience, the communication just flat out sucks.

I would be interested in a cf hatch later down the road. Obviously spending any kind of money I would want it to sit flush & not fade to yellow. I shall wait for more reviews.

Like I stated on another carbon fiber thread before. Material and quality is very important factor and basically determines the price of the product. Many cheap ebay carbon fiber manufacturer and sellers use cheap polyester resin which tends to crack during drying process and dont have UV resistant. Polyester resin tends to turn yellowish quick due to not been UV protected. Epoxy resin wont stress and wont crack during drying time and it comes with added UV protection. Epoxy resin is better quality and higher price tag than polyester resin. Without discussing manufacturers and sellers, thats why theres a huge price gap between small no name carbon fiber manufacturers and top notch brand manufacturers. Do some research around before buying. Whats the point of spending an estimated $400 for a carbon fiber hood that wont fit right and will turn yellow within a few months, when you can buy a $600 carbon fiber hood from a brand manufacturer and a trusted seller which will fit better and will last longer... just my 2 cents and my experience in helping my uncle at his fiberglass boat repair shop. Trust me, he has owned his own fiberglass boat repair shop for over 10 years and he has gone thru trial and error using different brand, type, quality and price resins and I myself have learned a lot about material selection.

Ludachris you are right, GTFab and Carbon EFX are not the same business...
From what I was told, GT Fab did not make yours and Gastroker's doors. They just sold them to you. CFX made them. I don't have a way to confirm this to be a fact, but I was told from what I believe to be a good source. Just FYI. I don't believe GT Fab ever made anything in CF.

We use UV CLEAR COAT and good quality materials, so please before you start talking do a little research...

by the way my name is Sergio, in the forum CFECLIPSE my company name its Carbonetics...

Dont have any other names but we make some parts for other companies...

Ludachris you might be right. I remember having shipping problems with GT Fab, when I called the shipping company they didnt find my package been sent by GT Fab, but by another name, I dont remember, let me look up my files of all the parts Ive bought for my 2G, but it wasnt Carbon EFX either. I remember when I asked culver from GT Fab about it he stated its a sister company of them also, and I remember he said they made the carbon fiber parts. I had a suspicious of something shaddy and started poking around untill I found out more info, Culver from GT Fab stated they have shipped my cf doors but when checking tracking online and calling the shipping company they didnt have a package from GT Fab been delivered to me on their system. Thats when I started to get worried, and started calling GT Fab over and over with little to no solution, he kept telling me the shipping company had picked up the package. It got to the point it started getting shady, and I started calling every body kit performance shop in the California area asking question about a shop named GT Fab and getting info here and there. Finally I discovered the shipping company had the package but not under GT Fab names, under another performance shop name. The whole mess was the shipping company didnt registered the package on their system cause they where waiting for an authorization from GT Fab or the sister company about the package not been able to be insured. When I asked culver from GT Fab about the company name the shipping company had the package under he stated it was a sister company, which sounded a little shaddy by that time, since he never mentioned it before when I told him the shipping company didnt have a package on their possession under GT Fab. Luckily at the end I got my doors in top notch shape and the fittment was close to perfect. But GT Fab customer service sucked and I think they went out of business, although their website its still on.

I believe i heard a similar story about GT Fab a long time ago but figured it was just rumors

I was also one of those lucky few that got the CF Doors in, TOP Notch and if they truly are made by Carbon EFX, then i would not hesitate to buy parts from them

...so who makes the good stuff then and where do we buy it from?

We have two Supporting Vendors who sell good stuff. One sells multiple brands, including CFX, and the other one makes it himself - Carbonetics. The one who sells the hood and hatch talked about early in the thread is CarbonFiberHoods.com. Everyone seems to be happy with that brand.

Sergio from Carbonetics has been talking about doing a BMW CSL style 2g hatch that I've been interested in for a while, but it hasn't happened yet.

I had been told that CarbondEFX (CFX) had been sold a couple times in the past 3-4 years. So it could have been called something different when Culver was dealing with them. He likely didn't want to share who the real manufacturer was so that nobody would try to deal with them directly. For the same parts as GT Fab was reselling, you should be able to go through CarbonFiberHoods.com now.

Is Sergio's screen name CFeclipse? Just wondering as $600 is an awesome price for hood and hatch.

Thanks

EDIT: I answered my own ? He is

Talking s**t? No, I don't believe so. I stated exactly what happened with our failed transaction. I was agreeing with DSM_PWR in saying that your communication is COMPLETE and total crap. I was more than happy with the agreement we had, you are the one who fell through by claiming the parts were almost finished, and then you started ignoring my PMs.

Like I said in my first post, I don't have anything of your products, so I can't (and I didn't) make a single remark on the quality or finish of your carbon parts. And as far as growing up, from my experience if somebody wants their company to succeed, customer service is one of the keys to said success.

And what the hell is up with you always saying "sorry men", or "hey men"? Its man, not men, thats plural, as in more than one. Man, with an A.

Ludachris, that sounds to be probaby right. If you google Carbon EFX, theres a few other forums dated back to 2008 where ppl where asking around abut the quality of carbon fiber parts from Carbon EFX. So it seems they been operating under Carbon EFX name for a few years. I never fully understood the whole GT Fab mess and situacion, but that was 2 years ago and at this point I could care less for GT Fab business. As far a buying future carbon fiber parts, I will lean buyimg from a trusted seller that sells brand parts. As far as customer service go, most small business dont understand the huge importance and impact of good customer service. Most big business dont offer perfect customer service, but tend to offer better customer service than small business...

wow, haven't checked this thread in a couple of days. truth be told, I'm more confused than ever now. it sounds like spending more is "generally" better because it will be better quality. but then cfeclipse is saying they use the worst cf materials on the market and don't clear it soooo....??? sounds to me like its a toss up between CFX and carbonetics. I'm a couple of weeks out on ordering it so we'll see then. thanks for the info guys, always appreciated.

Im not gonna hate against any carbon fiber manufacturer, just contact the different manufacturers and ask what type of resin they use and if the resin is UV protected.. About it been clear coated, I doubt any manufacturer clear coat their cf parts..

I'm more concerned about fitment as my cf hood & hatch will be painted to match.

This might be true, but I know GT Fabrications branded the inside of my door with their company name.

sounds like im saving my money for now or does cf want to ship me a hood and hatch if i like it ill pay afteer i get it that way theres no worries on either part :hmm:
