Here is a fixture we did up to allow us to drill out bearing for use with aluminum rods. For anyone that doesn't know you need to run a dowel in aluminum rods to keep the bearings from spinning.

Here is a stock 6 bolt rod that was machined flat

Then machined the rod out and pressed in a hardened insert for the drill to ride in

Nice work, man!

Thanks I have been following your subframe build too bad you weren't doing fronts and 3000Gt diff's :) Then I wouldn't have to bother doing them myself to many projects to little time :( :banghead:

I will be doing a front one with modified pick-up locations. The fixture should be done in about a month. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing yours come together though. :thumb:

Oh really I'm very short on time so I might wait on yours? Let me know the ETA also if you would offer the rear with a 3000gt diff I would take one of those two :thumb: I have 10 other more important projects on the go right now and would love to focus on those, and by the quality of your work looking forward to seeing more progress!

It's too early to determine an ETA. I just do this stuff as a hobby in my garage, so I do work slow. I plan to tackle it sometime this year, but there's no telling when.

You're on your own with the 3/S diff thing, although I'd love to see what you come up with. :)

Here is a tool we made to press the dowels into the Aluminum Rods
