So I'll ask it... you got a link to that ebay manifold? Brand name (godspeed etc)?
Price... blah blah give us details! (Please)

Sweet, did you cut or re-brace this manifold? Surely it wasn't bolt on!?

Also it's a little hard to tell from the ebay auction/your pics, is the wastegate coming off one runner or all?

This manifold i had a buddy cut and reweld the t3 flange on it so the stock 12cm holset turbine houseing would clear the block. then i had to build a custom o2 housing for it. Over all it was worth it. I love the setup. I even recurculated the external wastegate.

Heres pics.

It bolted right up to my 3inch downpipe. So everything was straight 3 inch :)

How thick was the runners on the ebay manifold? how long have you been running it and have you had any crack on the manifold? from the pics it looks pretty thick...

Dsmreviver, Is that an N/T waterpipe? That is an HX40? What size is the turbine housing? Did you have to clock the turbo much?

What a great thread! I am planning to install a HX40 (BEP .55 housing) but want to keep my FP Mani and stock fans/rad (on 2G). Maybe this is asking too much! So, does anyone have a setup such as this? If so, what product did you use for the O2 housing/external gate? Was there a problem installing the oil drain? Not a problem to dent the water pipe a little, but seems with the limited space...it is give and take. Plese post pics?

One reason for wanting to keep the FP mani is I understand it will spool faster than going with a T3 (the stock HX40 turbine housing) Correct? Does anyone know 'how much faster'?

The stock exhaust housings on Holsets are T4 twin-scroll. You'll have to change it out for a T3 one..

Heres a pic of my new setup im working on, bep t3 70 a/r hx40 with an erl manifold. Had to make my own downpipe adapter which you can see in thae fabracation fourm. Also for the dipstick I bent it so it landed between 1-2 cylinders:thumb:

Does anyone have good close pictures of holset mounted on engine stand? Im looking for a close picture of block and water pipe clearance. And another of where the compressor lines up with engine mount. Trying to build my manifold on stand.

Wrong- that's a HY35. That manifold has no promise of working with a HX35.

Why not? just wondering on specifics.. but not only does this back the thought i had of wanting the Hy when no one else did and only wanted HX35/40's, but seeing that the HY fits so nicely around the waterpipe and using my manifold now i'm realy on the hunt (sad thing is i had finally found an HX35...cries...got an HY to trade for good hx35/?)

JMF Bottom mount TS T3 manifold in the stock hx35 TS housing. I had to dent in the water pipe. It wouldn't fit if I had the stock radiator installed. I'm also grinding the motor mount to fit the drain tube.

*edit: This is on a GVR4

The Redjacks Racing T3 Manifold works nicely with my HX40. I have bought both the Tim's Turbos .63 housing and the BEP .70 housing, and they both clear the waterpipe by over an inch. Pictures are in BrokenTSI's Redjacks Group Buy post.

EDIT: Oh, and also my HX 40 cleared in a Holset twin-scroll T4 housing I have on a DNP manifold.

So assuming I was using a factory manifold, what is the consensus for a decent amount of downward spacing? I was looking at these adapters. Looks like they space it down 2.5". Hoping to keep the factory 16cm t3 housing and internal gate. (hx-40). There is also a 1/2" thick TD05 to T3 adapter.

Also anyone making any kind of bracing for these monsters?

I have a hx40 and want to go with the t3 bep housing but I have an Fp manifold. I was curious if anyone has tried the 1/2 thick dsm to t3 adapter with success?

The motor mount is in the way.

For the 1/2 plate? I know you said its in the way for the 2 1/2 inch adaper so I just wanna make sure you know im asking about the 1/2” one?

So I either have to go .55 bep or t3 manifold....damn.

Anyone tried angle milling any of the cast manifolds? Seems like a little angle at the mounting point would go along way. COudl also angle mill teh turbo mounting flange. Enough to clear a holset anyway.

I have the CX Racing t3/t4 manifold on my 7 blade hx35. I had to dent the water pipe ever so slightly and it fits great.
