Awesome to see holsets making the rounds! Beautiful car!

30 psi can come as soon as 3k rpm if it has enough load(5th gear on the 5 spd)- with the auto it will push past the convertor before it reaches that much boost though. I have some log screenshots of when it was a 5 speed in my other thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/405768-my-story.html

The twin scroll performed great on the 5 speed too but it's so much easier to ET with the auto. Still a toss up but I like the change of pace with the auto.

No nitrous :)

How long is it taking to stall then? It seems to me in both videos you were waiting a bit at the line or am I missing something? Could you get it to stall in a 2-3 seconds in the prestage beams and then ease into full stage so that you could run in competition with it?

I really need a vacuum pump in order to do that. Right now I'm fully staging, putting it in neutral, revving it to sink the brake pedal, putting it in gear then bringing the rpms up once the bulbs go green. The slips say about 4 seconds r/t so I'd figure thats about how long it takes from idle. Right now I'd rather sleep a bit instead of sitting on the stall since I have no trans temp gauge to know for sure(a nice cooler though).

If I could bring the rpms up a little while prestaging that would make it just fine to compete in. Say, 2500 part throttle for an amateur tree. It seems once it gets past the 2500 rpm hump it starts ramping up pretty quick.

I also would really like an ignition based 2 step and/or a brake switch controlled 2 step plus wire in a switch that pulls timing. The standard 2 step looks for a speed signal and the 1g is especially laggy so it tends to stay on the 2 step while rolling out with an auto.

That's what I do. Right when I hit the 2-step, or just before, I ease it ahead a bit to stage. I'm pushing on the brake pedal so hard I feel like I'm going to break the seat!

I didn't log any runs but it looked to be around 7600 or so with the 26" tires. It didn't hit the 7750 rev limiter but I'm sure it was getting close. I may make a street tire pass before the track closes and I'm sure it will be at or a little past 8k.

Just wanted to say congrats on amazing times. I remember in the 90's a 12 sec car was a darn fast car, wait a tick, a 12 sec car continues to be fast! You are at solid mid 10's. Good for you bro!! Blazing!

Thanks dmaffo! It's funny how the term "fast" evolves.

Lol I'm not really sure, DSMReviver. This car was so rushed to get to the track after the engine came back out of the SL-R that I only did one quick log to make sure AFR's were in check from the 5 spd's settings. I want to say they were in the 80-85% range but it could have been as high as 90's. Judging by the VE map though the pump was keeping up just fine(didn't have to add a bunch of fuel up top to band-aid).

Haha nice! I am planning to switch to e85 and on the look out for bigger injectors. I am not sure which injectors to go with. I'm debating on 1,600cc injectors but they cost kinda high. I was thinking may be i should go with your injector size.

These BM1250's are on the brink of being able to tell they are larger injectors. They are picky about fuel pressure(anything over 43.5 base and they will misfire at part throttle/idle) and would work okay on pump gas but not great. Lean AFR's(16ish) at part throttle(short pulsewidths) and they will act up a little too. Work much better than my 1200 Delphi/PTE's but my 1000 PTEs were awesome on pump and e85. I'm a bit picky about driveability...

The High-Z injectors are badass but way out of my price range.

So basically the go-fast mods are a turbo, exhaust, cams, exhaust, fmic, pump, injectors, and a really good tune I'm guessing to put ya in the mid 10's? Or is there anything else we're missing? Cause that's really not a lot to be running those kinda times.

I'll be happy with mid 11's versus mid 10's, but then again, we don't have meth around here. Anyway, congrats on the times. Especially with all the stock parts in there.

There isn't much to the setup, no. Nothing special tuning wise either. The head casting has been cleaned up with a die grinder and various other bits in the intake and exhaust but I doubt that'd have a big effect. Just runs well for what it is *shrug* E85 helps a good bit compared to pump 93.

Much of the IC piping and exhaust routing were top priority like moving the radiator forward ~3 inches so the IC piping had a clear shot around to the IC, and moving the turbo as far to the passenger side as possible to keep the largest radius on the downpipe possible. Changing the lower radiator hose routing to accommodate the lower IC piping and not vice versa etc. I tried to make the best compromises possible but again, I don't know how much that helped. Much of the fab work hours consisted of tweaking it until the bends came out just right and so the transitions lined up as best they could.

Awesome man ! 9s are easily upcoming in the future for you matt. As soon as you iron out your staging setup, you can focus on perfecting the launch.Im thinking 3 bolt rear end will hold me back eventually, im having a tough time deciding what to do. Do you have any plans for a 4bolt rear end or upgraded axles ?

How do you get the stock trans to shift at full line pressure above 0psi??

I REALLY need my 2g awd to shift faster and couple tighter (even has an IPT shift kit).... according to dsmlink it takes .7 of a second to shift from 1st to 2nd and .4 to shift from 2nd to 3rd..... so full line pressure should help my E.T. out by about a full second, well hopefully LOL

Haha this is exactly what I do also. I get right up before the prestage, start stalling my sinister speed converter and once I hit full boost and my desired launch rpm, (24psi on a 20g and 4800rpm stall being held back by a 2-step, which takes about 6-10 seconds) I will then creep into the prestage lights and finally the staging lights so I can launch as best as possible :thumb:

Thank you!

I'm on a 4 bolt now, the 3 bolt axles started to break pretty quick with 1.4 60's, hell even on a street tire I broke one.

With Jackal I have an output that I use above 5 psi to turn my 2nd fuel pump on and ground the blue wire for full line pressure.

A friend said it was making 25 psi on the 3750 2 step but I've never looked. I would guess I left at 20 psi or so. It may have bounced off the 2 step as it rolled out though.

This is a different chassis and an original auto car. Cruises around exactly like stock :thumb: Full line pressure once it goes past 0 psi.

How are you getting full line pressure after 0 PSI?
