you could always do the 2.4 out of the stratus
or the evolution motor that mounts up like the 420a

14-18k? wow i didnt think that much. i thought at most like 8k. i found an evo motor on engineandtransmissionworld.com for $1000 with 31xxx miles on it and a transmission for $2000.

everything you need

for 3000 shipped to you

Best swap hands down is the motor out of the buggatti veyron, after that I'd try and drop in the mclaren, if you want me to waste my time replying with a realistic answer, then you can waste your time searching the forums for a subject that has been covered a few hundred times (along with its own section in the faq)

Not another one of these. :banghead:

What are you looking to spend on YOUR car? What are YOUR goals with the car? WHY do you want to swap so bad?

Ok Fotowntalon thanks for wasting your time on bs answer. and ik itd be easier to buy an evo but the 2g eclipse is my favorite car and i just thought itd be sick to install the evo motor in it

Or.... you could buy one with an evo motor in it! It's called a GST/GSX/TSI/TSI AWD :aha::banghead:

should bolt up maybe with a little modification but other then that comes with harness ecu and all so yeah:toobad:

I was just meaning, the best way to swap to an evo drivetrain is to buy an evo...

And it just bolts in and plugs right up eh?

A "little" modification. ROFL

My goals is to have power. ive tried to build up my 420a but its still not where i want it. and i really cant find a motor that will bolt up easily but some people on the web say the evo swap is possible...and to me that would be one hell of a ride it was done correctly. And i would say at most id spend is 8k

The 2.4 cloud car swap has become very common

Also, yes you can do a gsx or gst awd or fwd 4g63t swap both of which have been done several times, and I have produced write-ups on these set up's on ASEClub.net - Avenger Sebring Enthusiasts Club in the how-to forum.

I have also provided a how-to on the 2.4 swap.

Both how-to's explain what is needed, what needs to be fabricated, and what will need to be converted.

Cost will depend on deals you find from donor vehicles, quality of parts, and so forth.

Anything's possible. You can put a v8 in if you want.

What's so special about your 2g that makes you even consider dropping 8k into it just to be on par with a stock gst?

I'd think the SRT4 2.4L would be easier to deal with than the EVO engine, since the 420A and Chrysler 2.0/2.4L are similar. However, you sill have to deal with the fact that the head is on 180º backwards than the Chrysler stuff, and then comes the ECU to be able to control it. It would be a lot of work, but if you have the time, money and paitence... you can do whatever you want. :)

The first thing you need to do, like mentioned above, is figure out what your goal are for the car. Race car? Daily Driver? Fun street car? You can build a 420A to make a reasonable amount of power without going overboard. But again, it all depends on what you have in mind for it.

well if you want it done you have to spend money
research it and do your homework and you decide on how much it would cost and how much fab work is needed....dont listen to others that doubt you just do it if you want it done

As i said earlier my favorite car is an eclipse. iv always loved them..hope thats enough for you

Hardly. Considering you can buy one with an EVO motor IN it, for less than 8k.

See like i respect that. people shouldnt tell you what to do to your own car. thats why ive been asking the price and mostly all ive been getting is shit from everyone.
