Ok so I am first gonna say trying to just give a heads up to the tri state area. I myself am a Honda guy but my friend has a 2006 evo Mr. My friend is very loyal and is not afraid to spend big bucks. So awhile back he had his car dyno with just act clutch hardpipe kit and intake. Car made 315. So my friend had 272 Cams installed and returned. After about a week with only 22k on the car the cam snapped.

Ok now it obviously destroyed the head and pistons. So my friend bought high end parts such as exedy twin disc, Fp green, another set of 272 Cams, dmp performance mani, Invidia exhaust and had valve springs and all done. Now he took the car to shawn ivy aka ivy tune in Elizabeth Nj. He took it there to be rebuilt. So after about 3 months car is done. He picks up, car runs like Shit. He takes it back and they mess with it, but still the car shuts off when ac is on. That's not the big deal. The big deal is my friend walked out with 15000.00 in bills from ivy. Yes 15,000. No dyno sheet and shawn told him it made 495 to wheels. So he runs my civic, when I only made 290. I whoop on him. So he gets discusted with car and it sits for a month. Still only 900 miles on build. So today he takes it to a local dyno that let's you get 3 pulls for 100 bucks. The car max power at 34 psi made 328 HP. Are you kidding me that's 30 over stock wit a 15000 dollar build. Anyway Sean ripped him off badley. Come to find out shawn copies tunes and don't even tune half his cars. My friends car went from running 12.0 after first tune to running 12.2 its crazy. What tuner has u two step off No boost. He's a joke. Seriously.

So I'm giving everyone a heads up. If you have questions feel free. Don't waste ## money. Ivytune=joke, big joke
 
i dont live in your area but those guys at that shop sounds like a bunch of d-bags. your friend has money he should sue and teach them a lesson
 
had same thing with one of my friends,who got an evo....... Some other known shop did the head rebuild,1mm oversized titanium valves,valve guides,dual springs, 272's cams,ported head, custom built exhaust manifold,GT-35r turbo,1150 cc injectors. So after that,he went to dyno tune his car to Sawn Ivey. He did couple of pulls ,loaded some already made maps to his ecu. 15 mins of tune and he was done... WTF?! The car made 364 whp at 24psi of boost. Charged him 320 bucks. Later he bought an evoscan to check everything up. We saw,that he had 4 counts of knock at wot. Nice....... Car was tuned to 12.2 afr. So then he took his care to another place to get dynotune.Didn't changed anything,just raised the boost to 31 psi.The guys there tuned his car to 11.1 afr,without no knock.The car made 556 whp. I guess Ivey tune is bad name already around dsmers and evo guys....

Oh and PS I have never in my life made 495 hp on an FP green.

Sean, how about tuning the cars?! more considered to evos. Do you really upload the closest maps to the setup of the car and just leave them in the ecu without any major adjustments??

Again total nonsense, wish it were that easy.

We tune a wide variety of cars and ecus, HKS standalones, Haltech, Stock subaru, mitsubishi, and GTR ecus.....................We are a certfied HKS Pro tuner, Cobb Protuner etc.

We have base maps based on all the cars we have done. We custom tune every car that we put on the dyno, and I tune all the cars there. So tell you what, come with something solid.
Also these days since alot of people have the tuning cables, we see maps come in that the customers themselves have altered, there is alot of that.

I wish I could just load a map in there, but for some reasons all the cars are different, and the mods like intake pipes etc make a huge difference to the required tuning parameters.

These days alot of the cars are shitboxes, they are modified sometimes by people that shouldnt work on cars, with cheap ebay parts and some of the cars when they come in we turn them away, because we don't want to deal with bullshit parts, and people who aren't financially willing to do the cars right with the right parts.


Anyway, lets not talk about that lets talk about these specific names of these customers we supposedly ripped off, cmon, lets go.

We have dyno sheets with 330 HP readings. He said you can call him anytime 2155195516. I was tryin to be specific but guess all ## tunes shut off when ac is on. Lol.

Mark left our shop with his car, perhaps a yr ago. I dynod the car before it left it made 490+ wheel HP on an FP red with Meth. 330 HP on a dynojet is not consistent with what an FP red puts out even on straight pump gas, much less on meth. He needs to see what issues have developed in the year since the car left our hands. The idle was a bit odd as it had what I remember to be Kelford 280 deg cams which are not easy to get idling right because of the low vac. I had suggested against those cams when they were being chosen.

I don't want to assume that you have his permission to be on here as you are not the customer so I am going to somewhat curb my response till I speak with him.

Mark came to us after trying to work with someone he termed a clown in his local area. The clown is the person who installed the leaky meth kit, which on more than one occasion prevented us from even being able to tune the car properly. Many times the car returned to us to repair work that was done elsewhere.B] This culminated in a situation where he had cams put in by the individual and somehow the cam gear bolt was improperly torqued causing the camshaft to snap. His car arrived on a tow truck, bent valves and pistons damaged, and was repaired to the best of our abilities, the engine had to be rebuilt. The head was barely salveagable and DAVE at headgames did his best to put it back together so the customer didn't have to get a new one. THE ISSUE WITH HIS ENGINE WAS CAUSED BY SHODDY MECHANICAL WORK DONE BY SOMEONE WHO HE CHOSE TO TAKE HIS CAR TO, NOT US. I hope the person who installed the cams took care of the bill for the engine repair!!

Mark didn't spend anywhere close to 15K with us, just so you know.

His car like many many we have done should have been able to run in the 11s at 122 or so mph with ease, I can't count how many of them we have done that run that on the same HP he does. One of the guys that work for me put an evo8 together 11.0@125 on 480 wheel hp........................you have to be able to drive also which is a problem for some of the customers.

Anyways, I am glad I now know who it is that you are talking about, but somewhat dissapointed that we were not contacted. It's odd that he has not contacted us in a yr, but we assumed all was well since we did not hear from him.

We are open for business 6 days a week and we are always available for our customers if there are issues.

Anyway, this will conclude my dealing with this matter until the customer contacts us through the normal channels. We can post the dyno sheet tommorow dated as we have them all stored.

And on that note, I'm closing the thread. Everyone knows how to get in touch with everyone else, and the fact that the owner didn't contact Sean, but instead a friend starts an account and thread just to bash on him, doesn't sit well with me. If the owner isn't man enough to contact Sean, then that's his problem.

Sean, if you wish to post the dyno sheet at some point, let me know and I'll open this back up. But moving forward, go straight to the source and don't bi*** on a forum for "your boy".

As promised. I was a bit off on the HP, do too many cars :)

So if you are making 330 hp now something is quite wrong, and you need to check the car, make an appointment and bring it in, we are open 6 days a week, this isn't some fly by night joke performance shop.
