I still haven't found what needed adjusted. I'm going to switch to a 98/99 ecu. Hopefully that will help. There seem to be so many tables that are different between the 98/99 ecu and the Evo 8 ecu. Ceddy has implemented many of the same mods that Tephra did to the Evo 8 code. At this point, I want to try getting my car running 100% with the other mods I have. I don't feel like waiting for a fix, and I don't have the skill to find a fix myself. I hope to have it all swapped by the end of January.

Alright, so i havent really done much with the car since my turbo blew, and i had to put in the 13g but i was thinking today and may have found out somehing but - if this has been covered in the previous 42 pages, im sorry - i did a thread search for 'ignition coil' but found nothing.

Anyways - has anyone changed the "ignition coil charge times" values in ecuflash? i have my reasons but im going to type out my thoughts in a word doc first to make sure it makes sense, after i get some of your responses LOL

Finally cleared up my misfire issue by digging into the Hi Octane timing map. Finally pulls smooth. Now that the misfire is gone i can to dialing things in. Funny thing is 22psi, 80%IDC on 560's and knock counts were 2-3. Rolling into things in 5th on the highway i did see a max knock of 10. Like i said just some fine tuning is needed.

I know this has been answered already, but I can not find what I need to run sd. I have an omnipower 4bar map and a gm iat installed already.

Awesome! Now can I change the mdp to map before I go sd? Ive looked through ecufpash and couldn't find anything.

My omnipower 4bar is using the factory harness. But do I need to do anything to the ecu to read. It correctly?

You need to go through the steps in that thread i linked. It tells you how to configure the ROM for your configuration. Im pretty sure the default scaling and MAP sensor is set to Omni 4bar, but you will need to go through and make sure.

You also need to make sure the air temp input is setup correct, either using the maf air temp input pin, or the fuel temp input. And make sure you injector scaling and latencies are correct. The fuel part was simple for me since im using evo injectors.

Well, after reading that post and the replies to it - i decided to change the values anyway.

to me - i got better cold starts, and a little bit better idle. Also - i was starting to get a lot of knock on 20psi, so i took most of the timing out, but now that i changed those values i was able to run a lot more timing w/ no knock. Also - just for shits and giggles i put on the stock timing/fuel maps and knock sensor values - and i got no knock.

Im trying to re log the runs, but for some reason my computer isnt connecting to the car to log anymore.

Here are a couple of the lost images.

The first one is 2 parts.

The scribbling on there is a combination of pin numbers a wire colors from when I swapped it on my car. Hopefully it helps.

I didnt even notice they were gone, but heres the 3 i used when doing this swap...

also, im curious if anyone else has tried to change the coil charge time to see if it helped with the cold starts, i was able to get my car warmed up and everything yesterday with no stalls in 15* weather with no issues.

I got my car finally running!!! Thanks for all the info on this thread! Everything was fine except the TPS, it was causing all the issues.

So the cars running with tps and maf. But it takes about 2 min of intermitten cranking to get it started. The first time it never hits 1k roms, then dies. Most of the time the 2nd time it will run. Is there a fix for that?

I have noticed that getting the BISS adjusted once the car has warmed up fixed a cold start issue I had. Once it fires it runs ok? What kind of AFR do you have at idle?

Runs fine once it's up. I still have to let it idle for about 1-2 min before I can drive smoothly, I'm pretty sure it's a Dsm thing. It did that bone stock too. Afr's are 14.5-15.1.

Fixed cold startup! Had to richen the temp vs fuel, starts everytime now!

Update:

Glad to see my excel document is still around and helping folks (first image in Hortanica post).

I have been using my EVO ecu with me DSM for, I guess, about 3 years or so. Best mod ever on the DSM : ) :hellyeah:

So, I'm having massive issues with SD again. Anyone know there way around sd with an OmniPower 4 bar mao? It reads vac correct, but as soon as vac goes anywhere near 0 it does not read correctly. Also, anyone know how the gm iat sensor wired into pin 77 is suppose to read in evoscan? Mine is showing under the maf IAT.

Right click on the MAP scaling table and make sure scaling is set to omnipower 4 bar, once that is correct you should start with a 1:1 ratio table and work your way from there. Are you sure the equation for your perticular map sensor is correct in evoscan as well? If you have that set for a 3 bar it will be way off.

^I was helping work on the car. We switched it back to the MAF to figure out what was up. For some reason it wasnt grounded. Grounded it, and then the MAP all of a sudden starts reading perfectly. Dunno if it was a loose connection or if that is somehow related...

Yeah that will do it also, glad you guys resolved the issue. Looks like ill be picking up an omnipower 4 bar since i've more than maxed what my gm 3 bar can read running 30+psi. Im also in the middle of building my own map switching harness for dual maps anyone else on here make one of these?
