I used to be an ignorant, go-before-show person. Then I started hanging out with more of a show crowd. They aren't all idiots. They have posers that want to do "it" as cheap as they can, just like the DSM crowd. You wouldn't believe some of the parts available to them so they can make their suspensions work reasonably well when slammed to the ground. I just drooled over what they were saying for a little while. Ball joint drops kits and tie-rod end mount relocators (want to fix that horrible DSM turning radius?).
If you hate on the style because it looks bad and isn't "functional," think of this:
-What brand was the shirt you put on today? How about your shoes?
More than likely, you're wearing something different than me, and different than the person next to you in class, at work, or on the street. I'm wearing steel toed boots today. Do I need to be? No. So am I being a poser, trying to be a cool as the PennDOT guys clearing the roads just because I'm wearing steel toes? No. I like the LOOK of the boots. I could be wearing sweat pants today. They'd be a bit warmer than my worn out blue jeans. More comfortable too. But I like the LOOK of my blue jeans more so than sweat pants.
Why can't all our cars be different too? Just serving the personal preferences of the owner. I'm not going to hate on your style because it looks bad. If I'm going to hate, it's because it's being done in an unsafe manner. I'd call you an idiot if you tied your shoe laces together, so I'll call you an idiot for stretching your 205 tires to fit an 9 inch rim.
