I used to be an ignorant, go-before-show person. Then I started hanging out with more of a show crowd. They aren't all idiots. They have posers that want to do "it" as cheap as they can, just like the DSM crowd. You wouldn't believe some of the parts available to them so they can make their suspensions work reasonably well when slammed to the ground. I just drooled over what they were saying for a little while. Ball joint drops kits and tie-rod end mount relocators (want to fix that horrible DSM turning radius?).

If you hate on the style because it looks bad and isn't "functional," think of this:
-What brand was the shirt you put on today? How about your shoes?

More than likely, you're wearing something different than me, and different than the person next to you in class, at work, or on the street. I'm wearing steel toed boots today. Do I need to be? No. So am I being a poser, trying to be a cool as the PennDOT guys clearing the roads just because I'm wearing steel toes? No. I like the LOOK of the boots. I could be wearing sweat pants today. They'd be a bit warmer than my worn out blue jeans. More comfortable too. But I like the LOOK of my blue jeans more so than sweat pants.

Why can't all our cars be different too? Just serving the personal preferences of the owner. I'm not going to hate on your style because it looks bad. If I'm going to hate, it's because it's being done in an unsafe manner. I'd call you an idiot if you tied your shoe laces together, so I'll call you an idiot for stretching your 205 tires to fit an 9 inch rim.

Its one thing for a car to sit low and be flush, but do it right, like this...

http://www.dentsport.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/cyber-evo-1.jpg

or this...

Rota Grid wheels on 2006 Mitsubishi EVO 8, 9| WHEELDUDE.COM

or even tuck the wheels up even further in the fenders, fine, as long as everything is properly aligned, so the wheel sits the way a normal wheel should... That ridiculous negative camber thing has to go. Not even because it sacrifices function, but because it just looks bad. There are some cars where it's ok to sacrifice function for looks, but as long as it actually looks good.

That BMW or whatever that thing once was that has a mouth drawn on it, just looks terrible, there is nothing aesthetically pleasing to it at all. That extreme negative camber is not even slightly cool looking. Just imagine, that car was once nice. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, but you know, do what you like.

There is so much fail in this post...

Modifying you car does NOT do more to lessing the drivability, not compared to bigger turbos, cams, etc etc that not only make your car run more rough but it reduces your millage and many times becomes less reliable over all along with higher maint. Very few people have an $8K paint job so I don't know where the fk that came from either and besides all that you didnt make too many other points.

Your analogy of hotrodding also is off because the main appeal of hot rods was the "look" the motors came later on when racing became bigger. Back then it was all about the cleanest wheels and white walls, flashy paint and lots of chrome. Looks were just as important as performance and for the most part in TRUE Hella-Flush cars, the same applies. My RX8 was turbo'd and built for the track with more suspension mods than most peoples DSMs are worth. I had 17X10 wheels all the way around on NT01 track slicks DD. A lot of guys I ran with similarly modified their cars as well.

Hella Flush is all about being bold and have a clean car. Having your car scrape the ground or have ungodly camber is not what Hella-Flush is about. You've been brain washed by ignorant tards on the internet. A show with true Hella-Flush cars will be the group of probably the cleanest imports you will see, period. They will be tastefully modded from the wheels to the enginebay.

A lot of these hacks you see aren't completely in the scene and are only trying to imitate it. Look on the Fatlace and similar websites to see what cars they feature and you'll see the difference between REAL Hella-Flush and this BS many people post...

This is the only person who has a clue!! Hella-flush isn't about destroying your car from being so low, it's about setting apart from others. Getting that perfect fitment and that perfect edge that specific model of car needs. Tastefully done with minor body work to keep the shape of the car itself the same, but the total package, ILLEST. And I'm sorry but look at that sti it's beautiful same goes for that 350.

Here's some DSM's that meet that "illest" rep imo.

LOL Don't even waste your time, ex·plain·ing ITS ((DSMTUNERS))=D! LOL get on a Hella flush forums if you guy's wanna be "POS-ALL about about the ILLEST /Slammed or Hellaflush.. scene" cause this thread, ON DSMtuners really ain't going no where.. (Not to be a dyck) LOL or anything, just a waste of time! hate or luv it its just the way of life' and sum peoples Life Style! Stance!!! is a way of Life. and why would you camber out a awd car anyways

Dude theres new cars that get 9 mpg. For one the car scraping is embarrassing as hell, makes your ride look like a hoopty. Besides smashing the hell out of your exhaust, wearing wholes in everything, bouncing your trans off shit, riding so low its beyond the level of a properly working suspension, rides stiffer then a mud truck, eats tires every 300 miles.

Why anyone would want to drive a "show" type car is beyond me. Soo many hours required cleaning and polishing. Plus normal wear and tear. Rock chips in the nice paint, scratches on the chrome and wheels. After a short time driving its not really "show" anymore, its more of a done up dd. I mean i wouldnt want to have to tape the hit out of my car just to drive it. But i wouldnt want to show off my chips in the paint either.

Like i was saying i would rather drive a drag car on the street then a "show" car. All that money to make it look good when drving it makes it looks exactly opposite.

Please explain to me which new car gets 9 mpg? Have you ever ridden in a lowered hella flush car? I have a buddy with a boosted delsol, streched tires, maybe 2 inches off the ground, and it rides like a dream, seriously feels like your riding a cloud. So please take your ignorance out of here since you have NO first hand experience with these cars.

And the middle paragraph just shows your a lazy fkuc.

I as well used to be in the "little performance box" as well, but since ive been hanging out with a different variety of people, i see theres more to cars than just hauling ass.

I love Hellflush scene and its big where I am at. I have been trying to Hellflush my DSM for a while now but its a lot harder than I thought. You have to have the right size rims and tires and since nobody has done it with a 2g DSM I have seen I plan to be the first. I know I will have haters but but haters only fuel me:D. I was looking for something that wouldnt rub as much but going Hellaflush its gonna rub. I am saving for some JIC coliovers now, because springs just aint getting it done. Also your really rims matter. It took me a while to find mine and they are working for me. I need thicker thinner tires then what I have now. I also will be getting a roof rack, rear diffuser and Voltex carbon fiber wing......why? because it looks dope :hellyeah:. I have a non turbo 99 eclipse RS (Basic bolt on mods) so I want to look good when I go to shows and meets because its obvious I dont have power LOL but I dont plan on racing anytime soon in Cali so why waste my time on 300+ hp and I can only use it on a track?? and I DD my car. I wanted a OEM Hellaflush DSM and I plan on having it. I am rocking DPE R20's 19x8.5 in the front and 19x 9 in the rear with Tein 1.3inch drop all around I get props all the time but still have haters. My goal is that EVO stance or something like it. I plan on finishing this project this summer because to me stance means everything too me and I like my car to have road presence. :D not just 500hp I can only use a few days out the month, maybe when I can afford a car that comes with real HP ill build the engine ( 2011 CTS Coupe coming soon )

This trend is so stupid it cant even define itself. If hellaflush isnt extreme camber then why do people with camber call themselves hellaflush? People post pics of cars that are nothing alike and call them all hellaflush. The cars "kmj 4g63t" posted look good. But why call a car with the right size rims and tires anything but good looking? Why use the ricer sounding term hellaflush? That is the point im trying to get across here. You people arguing about it dont even have it straight. Maybe you guys should all get together and settle on one style and term. So far it seems hellaflush is extreme camber and slammed while flush/stance is just normal right size wheels and tires and proper suspension geo. ?

You're clueless.. I live where Hella Flush started/ is the biggest. You can make what ever assumption you want on what you THINK it is all the while I am TELLING you what it is. Period.

Just because people call themselves that doesn't mean sh*t. People call themselves lots of things that they don't qualify as so unless I am talking to a child I would hope an adult can comprehend something so simple.

The cars KMJ posted you said look nice yet many of them could possibly fall under the term of Hella-Flush.

Hella-Flush is all about having the top notch car. The "Flush" as to do with the wheel set and the "Hella" part simply stems from the fact it is a Nor-Cal trend and is about being more than the average. Its about having the best of both worlds. Nearly all of the top Hella-Flush cars are HIGHLY modified and are faster than your car from every angle. I have never seen a stock "Hella-Flush" car. And I have not seen a Hella-Flush" car that doesn't ride on rails. We ALL have modified suspensions and some such as myself have suspensions that are worth more than your car. The wheels are about flash high quality and being original. Stretch tires are simply to allow the cars to be driven without scraping while lowered. Don't confuse us with crazy Japanese guys and retarded V-Dubbers. That 205 tire on a 10" wheel aint us.

Get your facts straight. Just because you see a lowered Import with stretched tires doesn't make it Hella-Flush and Just because you see a Luxury import with 20" wheels doesn't make it "VIP".

Get your head out of your ass. You've done a great job of making your self seem like a hick but do us a favor and at least attempt to learn something.

We've already been through this i am a hick( a hick going to pharmacy school and probably scored double what you did on the asvab) get over it yuppy. Anyway what would call that then? The part i quoted. Because they seem to think they're "hellaflush" too.

Pretty defensive arent ya? I asked a legitimate question with nothing offensive aimed at anyone. Your offensive attitude and attacks imply your own ignorance on the subject.

I really think you are the one confused though.

Urban dictionary definition:

Wheel offset, Small stretched tires, on a slammed vehicle = flush, or hella flush as people like to say.
damn your rims are sitting hella flush

Defintion of hellaflush on a hellaflush dedicated site:

* Get your car as close to flush with the ground as possible
* Increase the backspacing of your wheels. More.
* Stretch the narrowest tires possible on the widest wheels (don't forget your backspacing!) possible.
* Shave door handles, trunk latches, keyholes, gas tank covers, and everything else that keeps the body of the car from being "flush".
* Try to tuck your entire wheel and tire into the wheelwells. Ideally, it should all be shoved up where nobody can see it.

Hmm...

theres no arguing that small offset wide wheels look cool but you pay for it with weight. no question

the evos look is what I was going for with my car, I got bite by the stance bug too

i love my 18x9.5 and I don't wish I would have went with 18x8.5 or 17x9 because the way the spokes curve in gives me chills when I look at it on and angle.

You can score whatever you want on your asvab but that makes your ideals no less hick/redneck and you can keep going to that pharmacy school. Good luck making as much as I do now when you're done, we wont event talk about the tuition debt you'll be in nor what I will probably make by at that time. :thumb: But then again what does any of that have to do with this thread? :hmm:

also give me a link to that site..

If its not Illest, Fat-Lace, Hella-Flush, Stance Nation, or another Norcal site, don't waste my time. Like I said, you live in nowheresville. All you know about the scene is what you are fed from sitting on your ass in front of your computer. What I know about ti is from living it. Jus' sayin.

And this is coming from a guy who has more performance mods done to not only his talon but to his previously HF RX8, TL, and NSX than you have on your car. That alone negates your argument in it self. We've had this discussion before and you lost last time. I see you are a glutton for punishment however but if I can educate one person through shining light on your ignorance than it was worth the time spent talking/typing to a blank wall.

Wrong.

Rule number one in being Hella-Flush is rocking "legit" wheels meaning they are genuine and authentic. Authentic wheels tend to be expensive but due to the build they are VERY light. My 17X10s were about 13-15lbs..

Sorry to get off topic, but TSimage, could you post some pics of your RX-8?

Thanks for the props bro, I'm on my phone so its kinda tedious to copy and paste pics, I can do so later on when I get to my PC.

More ignorance and mindless ranting but you still didnt answer any question i asked you. Your rx8 does look good but from what your saying every lower car with proper size wheel and tire is "hellaflush". I think your confused on the definition and are just trying to categorize your car with a fresh trend to fit in. and for someone with so many nice cars and such a bad ass life you sure spend alot of time on the internet. Im done with you unless you can answer the questions i asked. Otherwise they are aimed at someone that can maybe clarify the subject.

Stance nation a site you listed as legit shows many cars with extreme camber and stretched tires, which goes against

They also have "form > function" in the title of their website.

So your obviously clueless. Please drop it. My questions are aimed at someone who knows the topic.

The 300zx is rwd and worth more than your car..... what are you saying? I'd take that over your gsx and my old talon.

That wagavan is unsafe... I see beeds being broken in seconds on the right bump. Those hondas are hella ###. You got the worst examples except for that 300.
