Yep. Im a function guy myself. Looking pretty in a parking lot should be left to the limp wrists. Just about everyone in my family races something, dirt track, drag, bikes, whatever. I could care less what it looks like as long as it moves. Those "hellagay" car vids where they actually drive them and bottom out on everything is just retarded. Man i wish i could beat the hell out of the bottom of my car and eat a set of tires every 300 miles. :banghead:

I just dont see the appeal in it.

Wow your at it again.

My son does the special olympics, a*****e.

I've seen a few cars that look pretty good with the "stance / hella flush" setup, but most just look retarded. The thing about the DSM ( that being the 4g63 cars not the 420a cars) is that it is considered to be one of the most cheapest performance cars you can hop into, especially the GSX being AWD, and insanely powerful still compared to new market cars for the cost. Most people buying a GST or GSX are looking for a performance car, usually not a show / trailer car.

There is so much fail in this post...

Modifying you car does NOT do more to lessing the drivability, not compared to bigger turbos, cams, etc etc that not only make your car run more rough but it reduces your millage and many times becomes less reliable over all along with higher maint. Very few people have an $8K paint job so I don't know where the fk that came from either and besides all that you didnt make too many other points.

Your analogy of hotrodding also is off because the main appeal of hot rods was the "look" the motors came later on when racing became bigger. Back then it was all about the cleanest wheels and white walls, flashy paint and lots of chrome. Looks were just as important as performance and for the most part in TRUE Hella-Flush cars, the same applies. My RX8 was turbo'd and built for the track with more suspension mods than most peoples DSMs are worth. I had 17X10 wheels all the way around on NT01 track slicks DD. A lot of guys I ran with similarly modified their cars as well.

Hella Flush is all about being bold and have a clean car. Having your car scrape the ground or have ungodly camber is not what Hella-Flush is about. You've been brain washed by ignorant tards on the internet. A show with true Hella-Flush cars will be the group of probably the cleanest imports you will see, period. They will be tastefully modded from the wheels to the enginebay.

A lot of these hacks you see aren't completely in the scene and are only trying to imitate it. Look on the Fatlace and similar websites to see what cars they feature and you'll see the difference between REAL Hella-Flush and this BS many people post...

First, id drive a drag car on the street before i drove a show car. Second why does EVERY hellaflush vid show wacked out cambered wheels and slammed cars? When a car has fat rims and the right size tires that set flush with the fenders it doesnt need to be called anything. It just looks good. The hellaflush thing i thought was the camber and slammed cars?

that e36 is HOT as hell. i love it and the rest of beemers out their with looks like this. they are nice i love it and i have still yet to hear of a tire blowing out due to it being stretched. then again i havent looked for it but i still love it. and that e36 is on bags i think to and when he drives its all straight.

"Hella Flush" (the actuall Term) was when the wheels were 100% flush with the rest of the body.

like "JDM" it became an over used\over exaggerated of generalized term, and the definition was lost due to sheer ignorance and retardation.

When I say Hella Flush, that's what I mean

and I think the whole a car looks like shit because its rims and stance don't benefit the handling is retarded.

the way a car performs should have nothing to do with how good it looks.

the 4 door Porsche is the ugliest ####ing thing in the world, but its fast as #### and handles pretty damn good.

People if YOU don't like it then don't go on this thread. We don't need to hear about oh this style suck & that style sucks, stop trying to be cool & learn how to be original. I don't like all the styles out there but to each their own. I bet No one would even have the balls to say the negative crap to a person face but on the NET its a whole bold world. This is why the DSM crowd is starting to really get a bad rep over the past 7+ yrs too many anal people now.

If you look at the title of the thread, the OP is asking for people's opinions.

You think hellaflush is original?

For the record, I'd tell anyone their car looks like shit in person if they asked my opinion and that's what I thought about it.

Ok 1st I'm not going to have a e-argument. 2nd the hellaflush was stolen from the VW & Euro scene that was going on for 10+years. I've been doing this for 20years now & so please don't try to come at me with car facts. I've done it all bagged astro vans, to hydro monte carlos, VW, to dsms & back. Its just non-sence for people to act like 5 year olds. thank you have a great day.

Most people (stoner German-car owners) get roof racks for when they go snowboarding once a decade. I can't see how those stretched tires, crazy camber, and sparks flying everywhere is not really enforced. Way too dangerous of a mod. Way more than people putting glowy neons and non-red-or-amber bulbs on their cars, and they get in trouble constantly.

The Evo X looks best, I don't mind the 350Z and the STI, but they're kind of pushing it. The rest are garbage, I had to laugh. I think some kind of "stance" (like the Evo X) is fine in a street car. To me if something doesn't look good, thats just as bad as if its not performing correctly.

An e-argument? Grow up.

I didn't come at you with any car facts, did you even read my post?

I don't give a shit what you have done to what cars. You said to be original, something that has been around and overdone for so many years is hardly original.

Nothing you posted in your reply had anything to do with what I said.

i love anything that looks good, i dont car for the VIP or HELLAFLUSH look, its too extreme! Although i just bought this car, it was already lowered with the wheel.

i love the look they are 20x8.5 all the way around and i found these wheels are still availabe and come in 20x10 so i might to to pick up a pair for the rear for that staggered look. this is not a go fast car so low and slow works for me. and this stance fits this car.

now this has stance (my talon) function anf form!

i like both, and to each their own, but i would never approve of 20's hellaflush on a DSM

"I only like the evo" you guys are greeaattt, funny how the only car you guys like is a mitsu

A daily driven 10 second car running e85, with a huge cam, a 6 puck unsprung clutch, and a huge turbo that gets 15 miles to the gallon makes just as much sense as a daily driven "dumped" "hellaflush" "vip" car.

Dsmers need to get out of the little performance box there all stuck in, its not bad to have a nice looking car.

So what if a car scrapes pulling into a driveway? Your clutch engages harsh as fvck, and chatters its ass off leaving that red light.

I used to be an ignorant, go-before-show person. Then I started hanging out with more of a show crowd. They aren't all idiots. They have posers that want to do "it" as cheap as they can, just like the DSM crowd. You wouldn't believe some of the parts available to them so they can make their suspensions work reasonably well when slammed to the ground. I just drooled over what they were saying for a little while. Ball joint drops kits and tie-rod end mount relocators (want to fix that horrible DSM turning radius?).

If you hate on the style because it looks bad and isn't "functional," think of this:
-What brand was the shirt you put on today? How about your shoes?

More than likely, you're wearing something different than me, and different than the person next to you in class, at work, or on the street. I'm wearing steel toed boots today. Do I need to be? No. So am I being a poser, trying to be a cool as the PennDOT guys clearing the roads just because I'm wearing steel toes? No. I like the LOOK of the boots. I could be wearing sweat pants today. They'd be a bit warmer than my worn out blue jeans. More comfortable too. But I like the LOOK of my blue jeans more so than sweat pants.

Why can't all our cars be different too? Just serving the personal preferences of the owner. I'm not going to hate on your style because it looks bad. If I'm going to hate, it's because it's being done in an unsafe manner. I'd call you an idiot if you tied your shoe laces together, so I'll call you an idiot for stretching your 205 tires to fit an 9 inch rim.

LOL so true, before "hellaflush" was a household term we called it bosozoku. I know what you guys are gonna say (or post some picture of a wierd van) but they've been stretchin tires and slamming their cars for decades now. Looks cool, when I find the right wheel with a big enough lip I'm stretchin a tire over em and slammin the car down.

Dude theres new cars that get 9 mpg. For one the car scraping is embarrassing as hell, makes your ride look like a hoopty. Besides smashing the hell out of your exhaust, wearing wholes in everything, bouncing your trans off shit, riding so low its beyond the level of a properly working suspension, rides stiffer then a mud truck, eats tires every 300 miles.

Why anyone would want to drive a "show" type car is beyond me. Soo many hours required cleaning and polishing. Plus normal wear and tear. Rock chips in the nice paint, scratches on the chrome and wheels. After a short time driving its not really "show" anymore, its more of a done up dd. I mean i wouldnt want to have to tape the hit out of my car just to drive it. But i wouldnt want to show off my chips in the paint either.

Like i was saying i would rather drive a drag car on the street then a "show" car. All that money to make it look good when drving it makes it looks exactly opposite.

I was going to attempted to say something but I just cant find the words to describe how stupid some of the stuff you guy's have said.

SOOOOOO IT'S YOUR CAR WHO CAReS WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.

how did i know every one was going to say the evos the best ROFL im pretty sure because 1) its a mitsu 2) looks the most stock it is clean but that z looks siiiiiiiiiick!!!!! the best imo and id drive the pants off the ratrod:rocks:

also cars are another form of self expression to me i want a fast fun car to drive that looks good and yea i like the oem look but id rather make it my own and accent the oem parts to bring out the true beauty
