First, stop lowballing the guy that car is easily worth 4500.00 if not more. Second if Megan Fox was lying in your bed naked and said come have sex with me, would you say no?

This.

Eh, I would only have offered the guy 4 for it, and that's after doing some hard test driving and a compression test.

To the original question......Yes you should buy. Very nice DSM in my opinion. As stated earlier, I would definitely check it over well. Check for leaks of any kind, take it for a test drive, compression test. It says timing was done at 120k, you want to verify the parts used were OEM quality parts.

I didn't say I'd get it, that's just what it'd be worth to me. Also, when I book it (private party) I get:
Excellent
$4,370
Good
$3,970
Fair
$3,320

1st, buy the car. I don't blame you for trying to save a few bucks, thats more money to put in to her.

2nd, speaking of putting something into something, are we talking about megan fox from a couple of years ago, or the half sized one we have now?

I am sure you wouldn't complain either which way.

Why is this forum full of two types of people, retards thinking they can get $10,000.00 for a GSX and cheapos who think they can get a clean 2GB for under $4,000.00?

Excellent $4,505
Good $4,105
Fair $3,455

What conditition is the body in? Any rust? Been babied? Does that mean no winter driving?

Totally worth it if the body is in good condition. Doesnt look like this one was hacked too much.

Looks like a good platform to start with. Looks like a solid car.

I paid 7k for mine 3 years ago. But mine only had 49k miles on it (64k now) with a few minor fixes. But mine has never seen salt or snow until I bought it. It was completely stock. The bolts come right off. Almost worth paying a little extra for that satisfaction.

Its all what the car is worth to you.

If it makes you feel any better SpawnedX, I got my '98 TSi AWD, Paprika with Tan/Black, with 96k miles, for $1000. It needed a windshield and exhaust, no strut tower rust (or any rust of any kind), and bone stock.

The deals are out there.

True enough. If you're not willing to wait, possibly never get one, take what you can. Otherwise, patience.

well call me retarded all you want!ROFL i sold the 99 gsx(in my avatar pic), with 54k miles and extremly clean! for $10,000! neither i or the buyer were "retarded". its hard to find a 99 gsx in the shape that i had mine in. and was worth it to the buyer to pay that much. simple as that.

I would buy it for 3 reasons.

1 its and eclipse=sex
2 there were only so many gsx made in 99 so thats a selling point for me
3 they have the revised 7 bolt engine and is worth building

That car is clean, I wouldnt mind giving him even 5 grand for it....

Buy it! Just be reasonable...GSXs are hard to find in my area. Well any DSM better yet turbo and awd.

If I had the extra cash, i'd pick it up. You'd be getting a steal. that car looks spotless and damn clean. I'd pick it up. If someone came at me offering what you did, i'd probably meet up with him just to slap him.

The buyer is retarded in that situation. Paying more than book value fora car that is 13 years old and will eventually rust away and has no collectors value.

I am not a fan of red, I had two red cars and painted both of them a different color. BUT, this car, its a good find. I say get it you'll be happy you did.

Maybe because its a 15 year old 4cyl dead platform car. That was a bastard child of a domestic and foreign car companies. That you can guarantee has been abused most of its life and/or teen owned. Hes asking 600 over kbb when with most cars your lucky to get the blue book value.

Why do people think these cars are made of gold? There's nothing rare or special about them, they wont increase with value over the years. They will all end up recycled sooner or later. Hell you can find clean 2g's with a popped motor for 1k. Drop a 6bolt in and you got a nice 2g for less then 2k. I see 2g awd's for sale all the time for around 2500, sometimes a dumbass will put one up for 5 or 7 or some shit. Some people need to get off their high horse and realize they are driving a 20 year old awd avenger.

To the op, your $3800 offer was very fair for a 13 year old 4cyl.

Speak of the devil haha
