Here is my wife's DD. She drives in sun, rain and Colorado snow.
It a 97 with the bulletproof 2.8l motor with 180,000 on it. That inline 6 is a torque monster 189hp, 200fp torque and still can get 30mph on the highway. In snow country like here in Colorado and where the OP is from you must have the LSD with traction control since these are rear wheel drive. We picked this one up last year for $4k on Craigslist.

For 4k I would grab that as well, not sure how much I'd like the convertible. If I did my winter dd would be a convertible rwd car and my summer car awd , kinda contradicting. I could spend anywhere up to 8-9k on a car, but the less I spend on the dd, the more money I'd have for me and the dsm. I would like something awd or rwd just for the sake of fun in the winter. An awd 1g has crossed my mind by I don't know if I want two dsms right yet.
