But it's miles better than any other car program in the US.

I'd say that HIN is by far the best car show i have seen (that appeals to the tuner in me), although less informative, plus I'd watch bullrun, pinks all out or pass time any day over this. Now those are different types of shows, but thats fine, dont try and remake the wheel (i believe thats the saying anyways)

Jay Leno, Adam Corolla, and Jimmy Kimmell would make the best cast for an American Top Gear. It wasn't horrible though. I'll give it a chance.

Two words....

HIN? Really? I watched it once and it was like going to a 90's NOPI ricefest.

Do you watch Top Gear UK?

Bullrun and Pinks would be cool if it wasn't so put on with fake results and added drama.

Honestly, Top Gear (in GB) in the beginning wasn't great at all. It took years for them to fine tune it to be the top show it is today.

Give it time. Top Gear America will eventually get better.... that is if the corporate executives give time to be fine tuned.

They should have just came up with a new show. I feel you have no choice but to compare it to the Brit. version and it is bad when making that comparison. This show needs a dsm tribute episode to make it more enjoyable.

Didn't watch it, probably won't. The dudes look like total douche bags. The UK version I like but can't stand when they start spewing limey garbage that I will never understand. I don't go out of my way to watch the UK version, I'm surely not going to make any attempt to see the US version.

That's quite ignorant statment... .Let's Give our opinion of something we've never watched. Let alone one that has nothing to do with the show to Begin with

Watch 5mins of Current world events or any British news and you would understand what they are saying( And laugh) It's not like their are speaking another language:rolleyes: Or do you keep trying to figure out what "boot" they are talking about:confused:

Dialect is language. They use different words for different things, and I'm not just talking about Aluminum (the word was changed for America, Aluminium is actually correct.) Limey humor is complete crap to me, and limeys are to England as Rednecks are to the southern US. When I watch Top Gear UK I can understand a little bit of it, like when they actually talk technical, but when all 3 of them get together and start jabbering like a bunch of gooks, that's the time I fast forward or turn it off. Jeremy Clarkson is funny most of the time. Richard Hammond limp-wristed sissy dude may as well just belong on the US version. James May reminds me of someone in a 60s rock band, but not a good one, and he is never funny on the show, just a cynic.

These assholes on the new US one just LOOK like emo f@gs. Adam Carolla knows a lot about cars and should be on the show. Actually funny, and the show is about cars, which is manly, not emo.

^^Agree

Just because you cant understand it doesn't make it crap, that kind of comment makes you sound like a redneck also. Why is it that most of the world can understand English people but only in America they cannot, and you speak the same language WTF. Most of the best parts of Top Gear is the bickering and arguments between the hosts. It adds comedy to where most car shows hosts are boring. If you cant understand the words or some of the jokes they say, either don't watch it or read outside of the country to catch up on world events:thumb:.

Their bickering is gibberish. Even the limey talk is hated by normal Brits. It's not proper English, and is far worse than redneck talk. Racial or cultural intolerance does not mean redneck, it's just opinion.

Its hated so much that its pretty much the most watched show in the world??:hmm:

You have to be kidding me right? Your comments sure sound like a redneck opinion, that being, talking bad about something without even watching the US show, then an opinion about the UK you don't know anything about or understand, very ignorant (redneck) of you.

Man this thread is getting off topic, anyway who will watch the next episode?

Redneck is the lack of sophistication, it has nothing to do with racial or cultural opinions. I'd rather just be called a bigot. I have no respect for people who are all about saying you can't have an opinion about something without knowing it (me not watching this TV show is one example.)

I thought it was OK. The cars were cool and the cobra attack was cool. And they were kind of funny.

I think they need to poke more fun at the stig like they do in the UK version though. That is what makes the stig worth having on the show and worth consealing his ID.

So far I think this weeks episode is much better than last weeks

I agree with some/most of you guys. The show definitly lacks the carisma between the hosts, it definitly is not the brittish version it is it's own show. even if it is starting out as a sub-par version. I like that they had the evo race down the mountain but wish there were less people on the mountain more of a closed course to rip that thing down the hill. And why did they have an upgraded version of the aston martin and not the evo? If the AM got a 60k upgrade they should have at least let some of us go crazy on the evo with 10k and then see how they compared around the track!

OH yeah and the brittish lie!
