Ya I am not monitoring the actual turbo oil pressure. I am using the stock oil pressure location and I see a max of 80 psi with my modded OFH. I figure I get enough pressure drop to the turbo.

If it's at 12ish at Idle, that should put it at the minimum unless crazy sh!t is going on after the monitor point. Or a neck down. . . Not ideal. But your a bit above the minimum at idle. So there's sufficient leeway I feel. And plenty below the maximum where you know you'd be bringing the turbo to full speed/load for sure. I feel that's a bit more critical.

Yeah. After the oil pressure tester, there is just the 4an braided line. I know I will get a more stable pressure after removing the oil pressure tester. The gauge comes with 5ft rubber hose and 1/8 adaptor. So by removing this I might have a bit more psi though I doubt it.

Got to drive the car tonight with the twin scroll hx35 setup :D

Extremely responsive. Part throttle around 2.5k it'll start giving the car a push and by 3-3.5k depending on the gear it will shoot past 20psi with a nice hit to it. Wastegate provisions still need to be fabbed up but I wanted to drive it and make sure everything else was working as it should first.

3rd gear sweeping past 20psi and climbing stupid quick by 3.5k
5th gear hitting 15-20 psi right around 3k and rising exponentially.

Between gears it's really amazing to me how quickly it picks up right where it left off, even part throttle and short shifting.

More to come, should be getting some time to get the wastegate on soon here. It's really teasing me right now...

^So you are saying that using a twin scroll manifold with the stock twin scroll housing works pretty damn good?

Bah! who needs a wastegate :) ? I saw a 608 number on my cid. I bet you were excited about the response of the turbo between shifts. You should get a log of the spool in 3rd starting at 2K with your GM 3bar. I'll bet it's spooling a bit faster than you think. It takes time to move your head from looking at the boost gauge to looking at the tach while accelerating. Plus a boost gauge takes a little time to respond since they are mounted in the car.

Would be crazy to see an hx35 in the 10s. Would you also be the first jackal user to touch 10s if you do?

^^^ That's what I'm talking about.
You just gave me huge incentive to get my twin scroll HX35 up and running.

I'm really surprised talondave hasn't updated the Holset results thread with his 10.3 HX40 1/4 mile record. If I had gone that fast I would be bragging my a** off. :p

Speaking of going fast, I need to buy some new injectors this week because Im ditching the 2g MAF, swapping to Speed Density and cranking the boost on my HX40 setup above 30psi on E85. I need bigger injectors than my PTE 1200s for high boost on ethanol and I would love to finally take my car to the track this season and potentially compete for the title. I was about to pull the trigger on some FIC bluemax 1650's but I'm not sure if they are my best option. What injectors should I get to max out my HX40 pro setup while still keeping the car at least somewhat streetable?

Maybe he'll update when he touches a 9.

I have the bluemax 1450s now. They are absolutely fine with no easytune box. They apparently are good to 650whp with e85 per the owner of FIC. I researched and found a while back the person who did it. I cannot find him now however. I'm not sure 650whp will max out your hx40, but it will get you close.

Otherwise the easytune box with the 1650s idle and cruise flawless. If you are really serious about whipping the hx40 compressors a$$, then pay for the easy tune box and get the 1650s.

I just picked up a 7 blade hx40 pro, and had a few questions. This will be going on my 97 gsx, and I'm wondering what, if any, manifold will allow me to use the stock fans, and not have to get slim lines. I've heard that with the hx40, you have to get them. I'm wanting to keep the T3 18cm wastegated divided housing, but now that I re-read that, I don't know if I'll be able to because I'm also wanting to use my external wastegate.

Basically, I'm new to the holset stuff, and figured I'd throw up this question so that I can get some help whilst I spend the next 4 days reading the other holset threads.

I got bored and decided to polish up my Galants 14b 7cm housing and the Talons compressor housing...

How much boost were u running on the 1200s? and was that on e85 or pump93?

I'm trying to buy 1000s for my hx35 8blade, in hopes of running 30psi on straight pump gas, but am not sure if it will be enough fuel :(

Good to hear, I hope I can run some ok timing numbers on pump gas as well. Hopefully looking to stay around 15*

HX40 PRO UPDATE This is just to show some hx40 Fun this was on a closed course that we rented for 10hours.:thumb:

Car ASAP Performance 1991 GSX - Stock head/block/cams(auto too)/Intake manifold/stock tranny with line mod- Restalled Verter/ HX40/T3 pro with ebay manifold tuned on DSMlink on E85 by Shane@ASAP.

VS Tune/ Mid pipe GTR low 11sec car at 127mph.

Still waiting on the video from the marked 1/4 it was about 4-5 cars enjoy the other races also.

P.S That m3 has full bolt ons and a blower LOL

Yes sir, that's why my oil and fuel pressure gauges are electric...

What gauges do you run for your set up? I'm trying to get the rest of the parts for my HX-35 build put together and reading through the Holset 1-8 threads just to make sure that I'm not overlooking anything. Thanks.

Thumbs up to Shane and the other guys at ASAP.. That guy Eric however is a POS. The things I'd like to tell that scumbag face to face with him goes without restraint. I can't stand low lie scammers at all.

I am extremely impressed with the response in Peepers car. Boost comes on very fast and gradual until about 20psi then starts to ramp up very fast. It spools up a lot faster than my hx40 in the .55 a/r housing. Can't wait to see how it does when he can actually floor it! The power band is going to be awesome!

Mr Peepers, how did you manage to keep your stock main fan with such a big turbo? yet there seems to be plenty of space between the water pipe and compressor. Thats just wichcraft or some form of sorcery. LOL. I was forced to swapped to a 12in spal fan and still had to dent my water pipe.
Either way, great install!!! It looks very clean:thumb:

Matt :thumb: that thing looks friggin wicked! Am I gonna get to see this beast this weekend when Im home?

Im pretty sure we will see and hx35 in the 10s in not to long. If hes runnin damn near 10s with a 16g, it cant be too far out before we see it!
