Everytime I see this thread I wish you were my neighbor. So how much will you charge to work your mahic on my 97 Spyder. Pm me.

This so amazing...I'm from Iowa and My boss buys all kinds of Dsm's from all over the place off Copart but he has a dealers license.....There is me and one other guy that helps me but we dont get them done near as fast as you can.....It is a passion and I like doing it also tho I'm not even close to being on the same level as you are....I just do all the mechanical work and some of the prep on the dsm's and the other guy paints and does autobody. Right now we have 6 2g's 3 3rd gens my 1g(and some other cars like mustangs gt's and junk hahaha). I dont get payed cash my boss is helping me get my life staightened out and gets me car parts so I cant complain. I'm living a dream I love working on these cars.....I hate them at some times but never permantly I always keep coming back!! keep it up you really give me some inspiration!!!

I can see how it would look more red in person. I took a picture on my cell phone of a bright red '97 GST spyder and it came out looking more orange that those cars.

While on the topic, how much do you think I should pay for that 97 GST Spyder if the paperwork comes in and it's possible to get it tagged and on the road for my wife and I to drive? It's Red with tan top. The body is clean and only has a small area on the rear quarter panel with a few scratches. Nothing else stands out to me. Top is in great shape. The tan leather interior is in better than average shape. Tires have great tread but the car has been sitting at the impound lot at my work since January. Brakes appear to have lots of meat left. Car is all stock and appears to just have some mnor oil leaks. Car is automatic with 98,000 on the clock. I can probably get the car pretty cheap from my boss, but what would you pay for a car like this if it were you guys?

Thanks for the comments, Here is another pic of the same color I did on a talon I built months back:

I literally had 5000+ choices, So I went with a color that I know looks good in person. I dont know why it looks so orange, But in person it's not! Next one hopefully i'll pick something different. It's just once you get there, Your mind goes completly crazy trying to find a color, Especially when you can pick any color you could ever think of!

I admit though in the pics above, It looks orange, It looks like the general lee OL, Thankfully in person though, It's a flame red color.

BLue, white, gunmetel, red , and black would all be good choice i would stick with in spraying cars

i mean the shades will very a lil bit of course but you know the deal :)

i also see you like to use those 5 spoke wheels

hey there can u PM me ## personal info. i would like to come up there and check ## place out. it looks like heaven.

supra is my dream car. You should help me make my dreams come true and hook me up with it. You can HAVE My 6 bolt swap AWD 2g 98,000 miles LOL

You sure know how to make a grown man cry on the inside. You are doing a fantastic job on everything. I will take a WRX off your hands LOL.

You know I have to try at least.

Man you are an inspiration with all of those DSMs. I can't wait to pick a broken down gsx next week :)

400hp93talon: He should be paying you!!!! You are right though, It does feel good bringing cars back from the dead, When they arrive on a rollback, Needing everything. I however try not to buy wrecked cars or ones with anything wrong with the titles. I have almost a dozen of them of mine up the garage too so your garage sounds like mine, Except I work alone and have the garage by myself, So I can get work done quicker, easier, and with less stress. I have a ton of 2g gsx's, 2 wrx's, an 06' sti, a 350z touring edition, the supra, ETC. too many cars, Not enough hours in the day!!! :( :)[/QUOTE]

I was figuring you where buying good titled cars....90% of the ones we get are wrecked and need alot of work....I was working on a 95 tsi awd and just got it narrowed down to why it wasn't getting spark or fuel and a wire behind the dash shorted out and filled the car with smoke...I just got done doing a motor and head swap on this car so it was really depressing.....so now I'm swappin the motor into a 96 gst.....and doing a rebuild on a 96 gsx that got t-boned thats going to get a built 6 bolt swap to make 500+whp....I really like the blue 2g at the beginning of this thread....We might have to do something like that. I'll show you some pics of the cars we got!!:hellyeah:

I'm proud to say that I am the owner of the blue gsx that you all seem to like. I can personally vouch for Rob's work. All the cars he had sitting in the shop when I picked mine up were nothing short of downright gorgeous and all his work is top notch.

P.S Rob, I'm hoping to pick up the new bumper from you soon, haha.

so can I be put on a list for the next remade gsx? I am willing to put money down if you allow me to help choose the paint. Anyways feel free to email me on this at indyboy1990 at juno dot com with gsx as the tag or something. Either way I would love to ask a few questions.

great builds by the way and fantastic work :hellyeah:

Fiji studios: If you were serious, you can pm me. I honestly get 20+ pm's a day about people who ''want'' cars, So most I don't even reply to unless they say they have cash and are ready to come pick one up. I do not reply because I'm useto people just trying to start a conversation and using the buying a car thing as a way to start one. I then reply 50 times and then they just dissapear.

meangreengst: I'm sorry, I did not get a pm from you!

aha, now I know why I didn't get a response back :p

Well I have since bought my Subaru SVX now instead so...
Who knows though, if and when my talon sells if I had a buyer for my SVX I may do it if you had a car available :)

I love my new SVX but damn would I love a clean 2gb Eclipse

Im seriously making my way up to Hazleton when i go home. NO MATTER WHAT. You should check out the dsm meet in philly this summer. Its in the tristate forum. You could hire a bunch of people to drive all your cars down. haha

I can definatly do full write-ups for the tech section or where ever they would be good to be placed!

Here is a pic from today of one of my 95' gsx's that i painted passion red, and did 99' conversion on. Still building it, Just painted it 2-3 days ago. Tires/wheels are used just to push the cars I paint, Around the garage until they're ready for the new rims/tires I use on them.

I plan on painting my car this summer ### the sunfade is driving me crazy and it'd be nice to have a guide. I like to do all my own work and I've never painted a car but from what I have seen, it doesn't look too hard. Just a lot of little time consuming steps. I like the look of that blue Eclispe by the way.

Thank you! The hardest part to painting a car is the clear. The clear is what makes the ''finish'' of a car. You could spray paint a car Wetsand itdown and clear it with car clear and it'd look like a professional paint job. It's all in the clear.

Everyone always brings me rims they spray painted, So I can use clear out of my spray gun to clear what ever they spray painted for them. At the end, It looks perfect, And it's a very thick, Glossy clear that is not going to chip, Scratch, ETC easily. (just like a car).

If anyone is interested in the build of this car, I have over 50 pics of every step taken in this build as well as receipts for every part used. The pictures really don't do the car justice and the color looks 10 times better in person.
