Wow all this negativity, me personally I've been running an Ebay EVO III knock off for around 10 thousand miles. It has no shaft play, and works perfectly. It holds 20PSI, but honestly I haven't tried higher because I don't have the fueling to support it. I will say though if you get an Ebay turbo Imediatley through out the included install kit, its junk. Order a new install kit from extremepsi.com Also you will need to port out the waste-gate passage because its cast ridiculously small, as well as adjust the wastegate actuator properly.

maybe u lucky on ebay 16g turbo i pass 3k miles and turbo go tu garbage

Never buy ebay turbos! I know a few local penny pinchers who did and now they're pinching themselves for not buying an MHI Industries Evo III 16G for a few hundred $$$ more....

Some things on ebay are totally ok, others aren't..so far I haven't had a bad experience with ebay besides the boost controller that was sent to me for free, the knob turns opposite ways for + and - in boost LOL.
I have all cxracing intercooler piping, j-pipe, and tubular manifold! All my products have held up well and have fit properly! =D

Just don't make quick purchases because the timer on ebay says it will end soon!

i also have been running a ebay 16g for 10,000 miles at 20psi hell ive even used it to 25 psi and have had no problems what so ever. it came on my car already so im not fast to change it or anything.

if you have the money, go for a real turbo, however if your short on money...

my 16g has been around 10 000 miles and still has zero shaftplay.

its all in probability, you might get something nice, or you might get something that will bite you in the ass.

well idk if you're installing it yourself or not, but if u let a professional install it, it has a warranty. so if its crap, u have 90 days to send it back

ebay chineese knock off turbo's are junk. i bought one and it died in 1400 miles. you cant rebuild it with mhi parts. piece of crap. dont waste your time or money on that crap. spooled at like 4k, wastegate didnt open, i had to grind the housing so it could move, also the hot side that bolts up to your 02 housing is a different size and it will put your down pipe up against your tranny and you will get knock. i wish i didnt waste my money on it. oh and one more thing, the hardware kit and gaskets that come with it are worse than the turbo. i had a banjo bolt snap off in my head, boy was i pissed.

This is a better idea for your $350.buy yourself a case of beer and go out and start a campfire with the other $325.the money might burn longer then a knock off 16g will.a month and a half ago my mhi16g went on me.my car is a dd so I had to get it on the road asap.a friend had a ebay 16g still in box so I traded him some parts and was driving again.150 miles in/3 days later I had so much shaftplay it felt worse then my blown mhi 16g.I kept trucking at 17psi max,and here we are 1200 miles later.the turbo has been howling like a wolf for the past 3 days.searching for a replacement as we speak.moral of the story-dont do it.put that 350 into a local search for a mhi16g.make sure you are confident it is in good condition and you won't regret it.

The turbo it self is nice and it works really well. The thing is if you get that do not

use the bolts and the water hoses, reuse your stock parts or buy official bolt sets.

I installed one of these and its been running great with 14 psi and about 10k miles.

There is one other thing that alot of people never knew but the wastegate on the

ebay turbos come locked up and u have to loosen them just a bit. The first time i

the turbo on it would not have a psi limit and would hit my fuel cut. So i loosen the

wastegate so it would work and wala been running great ever since.

so, of all the people who have actually said that the ebay turbos are garbage, how many of you actually have bought one, instead of just "knowing a guy". I say this with the utmost respect for the lot of you, but when I buy parts, from ANYWHERE, I check to make sure they function the way they are supposed to before I install them on my car. I'm just saying.
I've never had a problem with Ebay parts, EVER. I research my sellers, I research the products, I contact other buyers. Because research is key to any purchase. If you don't know what you are buying and are instead going with the 'THIS IS SHINY 16G BIG TURBO' item description... then you deserve what you get.

Oh, and Im certainly not going to trust a seller on the forums simply because they are a "supporting vendor" either. They deserve the same kind of scrutiny and criticism that an Ebay seller gets.

i picked up a used 14b mhi turbo of ebay for 120 shipped. It was no shaft play at all and came with all the stock install parts (j pipe, bolts, oil line, ect). just depends on what you find...

I had the same turbo you're looking to get. It was on it when I bought the car. Ran it all the way up to 34lbs and never had a problem with it. It would hold 30 lbs to 7500rpms which I thought was pretty good.

I guess its hit or miss with the ebay turbos. If you dont want to spend a couple hundred $$$ more than you can take your chances buying an ebay turbo. Another slightly better route you can do is look in the classifieds for a used real E3 16g. They usually sell around 200-250$
