On a side note of rarity how many 2G's have you seen with the optional multi CD disc changer in the rear cargo area? While I have seen a few of each of the two different changers...I have not seen many.

also I would have to think the one of rarest interiors in a Talon would be the 98 Cloth seats with the trippy colors and patterns.

My 97 has a cd/tape combo with a multi-disc changer in the back. Idk if that is rare or not.

i heard on hear that some punk a** kid has it down in Florida. And he drives it like a regular car.he put a sound system in it and screwed the fuse box right into the fire wall right over the factory metal sticker with the Vin,color code info on it.His dad bought him the car I heard.
The guy you're describing is username "Fittipaldi" on this site. I'm pretty sure he has since sold the car, but I don't know who took owership of it after him. Someone did show some more recent pictures of it at a car auction... That's the last I ever saw/heard of it.

maybe someone can call Jay Leno maybe he will bye it.He will keep good care of it.He loves owning rare cars and he will keep it inside and clean.

92 plymouth laser red with tan interior, and gold wheels with plymouth ingraved in one of the 6 spokes

those arent decals, they stick out. i cant believen oones ever seen this before

I'm in too deep at this point. I think i just need some 11sec time slips to help me like the uglyness of the car. Right now it's ugly and kinda slow. Not much of a sleeper yet, but mid 12's aint bad for what she's working with.

Your car is gorgeous. You know what's ugly? When all the plastic side-skirts on the talon start to warp and peel-off. About the time-slips: Apparently, everyone always wants more power, but face it; your car is already fast as hell. Whatever you put into it since then doesn't count. What did you pay for it in the first place? $3000? Isn't that like less than 6 months worth of payments and insurance premiums on a new Evo or STI?

You need a new hood!

Thanks for the kind words about my laser. It is in pretty decent shape, i would even say better than average. I bought the car back in march '09 for $2700 and it was completely stock minus a powder coated valve cover that he installed when his cracked and when the stock started slipping he installed a ACT 2100, lightened stock RRE flywheel and related hardware. It's come quite a ways since i picked it up stock + clutch. There were not even any free mods done to the car before i got it. Just a couple parts upgraded out of necessity and common sense.

As for comparison on what i picked up the car compared to payments on an EVO, and how dare you say the letters -STI- on this forum :shhh:, i daily drive my '05 toyota truck which i love and kinda up side down in it now thanks to our awesome economy. But if i had a beater truck instead, i would love to have the laser as a drag car and an evo to DD and do light mods to. I'm happy all things considered. Speaking of being deep in the laser, just installed my manual steering rack and so far i love it.

The daily driver and the laser with out power steering... I know that bracket must come out, all in due time.

I was curious about this too a while back and from what I gathered there were eclipse's made in 1989 but they were all released as 1990 models.

That's generally how it has always worked. Usually half way through a calender year you can buy a new car that is considered to be from the next year.

Like right now, I could go buy a 2010 Hyundai Genesis. Clearly it was made in 2009 or else it wouldn't exist, but it is called a 2010 model.

No one knows about this at all?????

Okay, so I have never heard this mentioned before and when I ask around nobody else has heard of it.
I am the third owner of a Sept. 89 Eagle Talon that came with every option and the pretty penny paid for it. I even have the origional paperwork from the dealer, the manual, and the car cover. I bought it for $3000 in 2003 bone stock and always garage kept. it is a black cherry color.
Anyways, the car came with a window sticker in the driver rear window that I took off due to new tint. It says Manufacturer's champion Eagle Talon SCCA 1990. I still have it saved in a CD case somewhere. It's not a rare car that I know of, but I have never even heard of the sticker.

Add me to the list.

I had a '90 GSX, Red with black leather interior and a sunroof. I also had a Monarch Green Pearl 2gb GSX A/T, Grey leather with Black dash. I haven't seen many of those around.

I own a 1997 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse GSI equipped with a 4g63nt engine

Someone must have fitted it after the fact. Mitsu didn't use 2.0 nt engines after 94, instead, they used 2.4.

But I wonder if they did that to a GST or a GS? Do you have any photos?

No he's right. GSI's are euro versions. they come with N/T 4g63's

Ofcourse I'm right, I own the car :) Even in the cars original papers it's a GSI.
