I run the snow system and love it thus far. Has a progressive controller which increases flow based off of boost and MAF Hz. Was expensive but worth it. You should also think about status LED lights for system operation.

this is not something you want tocheap out on. my Labonte Set up was about $400.

not bad for how much power it gave me. and knowing that it is a good system tyhat has been proven.

really if you build this set up for what ~$200, then something fails then you need a new motor. idk not a good idea im my opnion.

With the car making NO boost you will need a min of 40psi for the nozzles to work properly. Then how ever much boost you are making on top of that. So if your making 30 psi of boost you need a pump that can deliver a bar min of 70psi.

I am going to be honesty with you. I would really recomend getting your parts thur a methanol injection company, even if its not me. Alot of these parts have been tweaked so they work better. Like for instance you can go buy $50.00 100psi 1gph pumps thru someplaces and they are not nearly as good as what the rest of us meth dealers are using. I know the issue is they cost more. But some times its best to just do it right.

We do have stage 1 setups starting at 245 and stage 2 setups for yoru app at 375 we also do sell parts to.

I'm telling the DEA:D

But seriously to the OP, I would just buy a kit from one of the supporting vendors as said. They are all matched components and take all the guesswork out of it. Plus there are many kits for less than $300

Got a quick question....Is it imperative to Tune & Log with the use of a "Progressive Water/Meth Injection" system? Is it safe to reliably run a water/meth system on a stock dsm? I'm referring to my DD, which I like to keep reliable and low maintenance, but looking to improve power & economy with out modifying the ECU or the use of a "Piggyback."

i just noticed that this is in the N/A section.

i realy dont think you are going to pick up much power with out some boost

are you planing on having this kit with a turbo? or are you planning on running it with out any boost?

in the future i plan on a turbo but there are benefits that i believe are not just power based such as cooler running temperature, lower knock count, and i believe that in the benefit of a lower operating temp it therefor in turn means less wear and stress on some of the major components of the motor.

This has probably been covered somewhere in the 12 pages of the thread, so I'm sorry for being lazy...

But doesn't water/meth injection produce wear and tear on the pistons/cylinder walls? I've heard someone talk about that before but not sure how accurate their statement was.

Never once ever sean any combustion ware. And I check frequently because I like to go far past what the stopck HG can handle. . . On 1, 2, 3 different platforms I consistantly see the above commended clean CC and NO corrosion or acid-like dissolution on the pistons crowns, or at and inbetween the ringlands.

when you run out of fluid the pump doesn't push air into IC pipes does it? i would think not cause air pressure on the inside is greater than what the pump would put out (air pressure wise). Which would keep the check valve closed. Does that sound right?

no the dvc-30 kit does not also need to see vaccum.
dvc-30 kit will also fit a rx7 phunny

No you will not see any wear issues on anything. It will make your motor last longer. By help keep temps cooler.

No, the pumps will not have any issues with running with no fluid in them. They will not push air into the intake etc.

Curious about what type of control makes the most sense for a direct port methanol injection system.

Advantages/dis-advantages of a progressive controller.

Does it make sense to use a progressive set-up? Or is this over complicating things?

Can a single boost switch be set-up to run a direct port set-up with-out issues?

I'm just trying to figure out what makes the most sense for me when it comes to running the direct port set-up.

I see kits go from $300- to $1000- + !!!

I just really want the most out of my money, and simplicity is a plus here......................... BUT............ I will spend what it takes to have a top notch system that I can take the most advantage of. I just don't want to spend money on an un-needed system. If I really don't need a progressive controller then so be it.

Honestly, I have seen some local guys running what appears to be thrown together junk and have a functioning methanol injection system for about $100-. WTF I'm in no way that cheap, but I also don't think I need something like an Aquamist HFS-6 or whatever ther top end $1100- + system costs.

I understand the added functions and configurable port designations for warning lights, fail safes, and whatever else you feel like having the system control.

Some of the new systems from competitors are using multi function touch screens, etc.

At what point is it that you get to what you really don't need?

Well here's my question.. I have a built 2.3 stroker 67 billet turbo and all supporting mods the whole nine yards... Anyway right now i'm trying to decide if I should run race gas or meth kit.. My question is how much boost can you run on Methanol I'm looking to run around 35 psi?

hi guys,

i was just wondering if it would be ok to install the meth pump and the tank inside the car interior. im planning to install the pump right below at the passenger foot deck, and the tank behind the two front seats with the glove box in between.

is it safe? i mean the fumes that the meth releases (if any).

the reason i ask is that for 1) im trying to clean up my engine bay, 2) cant install the tank at the trunk because ive got some serious investment on my clean sound system install over there.

i know you guys will recommend just put it in the engine bay and get done with it. it's there now, i just want to see my other options.

thanks guys.

Chris,

A lot of guys run their whole system from inside the car. Although most of the time on DSM's they tap the rear wiper fluid tank and use it. It is vented to the atmosphere that way when it builds up pressure you won't get fumes in the cabin. Also, you might want to look into a vented tank for the same reasons.

I helped setup a 2g with the pump under the spare tire and it used the rear fluid tank. It was a real stealth install. You could only see the solenoid he used in his homemade kit and the accumulator mounted to the back of the seat. It was sweet!! I think you'll be fine to put it in the cabin. Just make sure to check your fittings for leaks every so often.

thanks just the info i needed to know. i have two custom stainless steel tanks made. around 4 liters each and it has vents on top. yes, one of the reason why i want the whole system to be inside the car also is to be able to always monitor the leaks in the fittings.

thanks again.

You can run a mult port setup off either a base or progressive kit. I would run a single nozzle progressive kit. Over a stage 1 mulit port. Both would be around the same money but the progressive controller will make it easier to tune. I think for most people they can skip the multi port. one or 2 proplery placed nozzles will work great.

Well your boost increase is usally very comparable to what you will run with 100 octane gas. So even in the short run meth injection ends up being much cheaper. So there is not really any set number of max psi you can run. Usually you can run another 2-3 psi of boost.

I would not recomend putting it in the interior. Methanol smells pretty good and does cause caunser so i would not breath it in all day long. I recomend using the washer tank in the trunk if possable or putting in a small tank in the engine bay.

dang it! back to the drawing board :banghead:

yea, well you can do it. But i would not ride in the car with you. The vapors are not very good for you.

chance,

i wasnt bashing you. i was just in the middle of relocating everything inside and then i read your post. obviously i'll listen to you coz you and your company are experts in this field. hence back to the drawing board for me.

thats why i decided to just fab up another tank where i can put in the trunk without messing up the look and the components of the sound system over there.

one question though. can i still relocate my pump inside the car or should i just let it stay inside the engine bay?
