I seen a few people mention fox body mustangs....LOL. Unless you are going to put a chevy powerplant in it then thats a total fail.

We've got a stupid 95 z28 camaro, and we also have an sr20det 240, havent got that one right yet though.

Other than that, Id like to have the money to build up my civic nice.

Other cars...uh,
Of course a Supra...
Late model 3kgt vr4's are one of the most beautiful cars ever made also
I also like vr4 galants.
A JDM evo would be nice, like a V or VI.

OP stated 89-99 people. stick to it.

Id go with a mustang, save for the 96-98 4.6L (non-pi heads/cams) and pick up at 99 (pi heads/cams), but emphasis on the fox chassis if possible. the 5.0 make excellent projects, just as a 1g dsm would. id do all the engine mods, throw in a built IRS out back (#### that solid rear bullshit), 6spd swap and road race it (use the nitrous for street).

If giveing the chance to get another car without selling your dsm, what would you pick? The years 89-99. Thinking of buying another project car. Let me know.

93-98 Supra TT if you could afford it

Besides my Laser, I currently drive a 2005 Land Rover LR3; and a 1997 Cadillac Seville SLS...Traded in the S-10. It was too gutless, I enjoy my Northstar!

That being said, I would give up my DSM and my Seville for a CTS-V. That thing is quick like the Laser, but carries some of the family...its like both cars in one! They are sweet cars. I guess it all matters on what you expect/need from the car on what to chose.

On second thought, there is no way I would give up the Laser....:p

I just wish I could own a DSM that had a Holset HX-35 running around 28 psi fully supported, maybe with some 272's in it. I would be perfectly happy with that, and seriously I only think about driving my DSM. I've driven tons of other cars...but none of them have the feel my DSM does. My DSM is just...well...my DSM. No other car in the world like it, and I wouldn't trade it but for another DSM!

But if I had to choose a Non-DSM, it would be an STI, an Evo, or a Skyline TT/MkIV TT Supra RSP.

oops. I didnt adhere to the rules.:nono: Sorry guys.

I think everything that I would drive within the rules have been thoroughly covered.

e36 m3 stands out to me above the others.

Supra, Supra, Supra.... blah blah blah, they spin too much... And they look like catfish

As with all RWD's with high torque output, you just need to work the suspension, and get some grippy tires. Stock, no they don't hook too well...but neither do Mustang and Camaro's when they are STOCK. I've seen a Supra properly set up outlaunch a 1G AWD Talon.

Open mind people, have an open mind.

Only thing with the foxbody 87-93, is that it is hard to find one with good "torque boxes" on the frame by rearend! Also they are very prone to rust as well as many other issues with a car getting old. I've had a few of them and they are very fun and could be made to go very fast on a budget. You think people beat on dsm's, these get it a lot worse which make it more difficult to get a good one
The 94-95 seems to be a more "modernized" car with 4wheel disc abs. Newer body style, the 5.0 and can be had cheap
The 2valve 4.6l are a crap motor that will never make "real" power unless with a power adder.
The 4valve 4.6l is a bad ass handbuilt motor with a lot of good stuff inside that is capable of alot of abuse and power.

Most stang owners that will be drag racing the car will opt for the solid rearend, although the irs would be ideal for handling

Well said man....my turbo regal is gonna be needin some roll races when the motor first goes in....(stock suspension, stock radials, scag nasty 3.8)....gonna be an interesting transition from rompin on the ole awd.

Which with that said a real nice foxbody could be rather fun. My coworker had one for sale I romped in and it was a blasty blast. Not quick stock but fun at least. Grabbin through the gears for the first time in a while did help the mustangs case.

Ill throw in a vote for an 89 5.0 notchback.

Dangerous thing to say on a site which 90% believe AWD is the end all be all. I guess they don't know what a 4-link is. :)
