forgot firing order. 1990 4G63T.
call the cylander farthest on the passenger side #1. and call the ignition tower farthest from the firewall #1.

thanks

why does everyone gap there plugs .028 when it calls for .032?
You'll find the need to run a tighter plug gap as your boost level increases in order to keep the spark from blowing out under the pressure of combustion.

Hey all,

Marked my plug wires which accidentally got rubbed off on some. Read some different posts about wire order but want to clarify before I install them wrong.

For a 97 Eclipse GS-T

Someone please tell me the order matching up the CAPITAL coil letters to the "lowercase" cylinder letters.

Ex: Ab Bd Ca etc...

Thanks - Im an as$ cant believe I forgot the order ;(

Ok the coil pack doesnt say anything (that I can see I mean)

And I know its 4123, but Im not sure what that means exactly,

Does that mean that the first coil closest to the timing belt is 3, and that goes to cylinder 3?
(If thats correct, which is cylinder 3? Do you count left to right cylinder 1,2,3,4 or right to left?

Thats why I put the capital and lowercase letters, to avoid confusion. Anyone want to help me out here?

From the timing cover to the left it's 1-2-3-4 and on the coil pack left to right it's 4-1-2-3.

What is the firing order? And also is it possible to mix up the wires? They only reach to their specific location so does it really matter which long one goes on what side? I am having a bad acceleration problem along with some misfiring if I try to step on it to get it to go. I have NGK Bkr6e v-power plugs. Are these ok or should I use different plugs. It's really getting annoying I haven't driven my car in a year and just want it to run.

From left to right 1-2-3-4. Always use the right length wires. From the top left of the coil (1) it goes counter clockwise. Kinda hard to mess that one up. Get rid of the ngk v-power and get some stock ngk.

This does accurately answer the question of the wiring order; but for the sake of correctness/completeness; the firing order is 1-3-4-2, as it is for all inline 4 cylinder engines.

;)

Are you serious? There is nothing wrong with that picture. That came straight off the DSMLink wiki. You won't find a better diagram explaining which coil goes to which cylinder. Jesus. Beggers can't be choosers. Go look in the gallery yourself then.

i actually had a similar problem with the plug wires order earlier this week. Found out you could switch 1 with 4, and 2 with 3 at the coil pack and the car would still run the same. I threw no codes and car gave no misfire.

Why is that a surprise?

We run a wasted spark system where pairs of cylinders are connected to a coil and both fire.
1 and 4, 2 and 3 are the pairs. The cylinders are half an Otto cycle apart so that when one is firing the plug to start it's power stroke the other in in it's exhaust stroke and its plug firing does nothing, it's wasted. Switching the wires on a coil does nothing but change the polarity of the plug, it still should fire at the same time as before.

I need help finding out how to plug them in. Can someone show me or help me

the coil firing order is 4,1,2,3 ,and the cylinders go 1,2,3,4 starting from the cam gear side of the motor . so if you hook up 1 wire at a time it is easy to figure out .good luck .
