So I'm really loving the old school jdm wheels/rims. Yet I can't find any on a 2g to give me some ideas so what do you guys think? Btw I have a 99 gst factory red, and its too low... HAHA seriously its freaking low.

If I ran these they would be 16x8 with 3.5" lip.

If I ran these I'd either do red or black. Same size as above

So comments? Suggestion of better looking old school jdm rims? Post up ideas! THANKS :thumb:

Those first ones are pimp. Never seen those before. Looks like a japanese version of a mustang wheel.

Yeah I'm thinking of going with those, but the fact they do look like mustang wheels is the only thing holding me back thats why I posted both of these to get a feel for what everyone thought!

Thanks for the comment!

I think the muscle car flavor would be a nice addition to the car. The second wheels look too honda-ish

How low is too low?

Imo, 16's are too small for a dsm.

Low as in with stock 2g wheels 215/55/16's tires I've got 5.5 inches of clearence from ground on stock gst side skirt. I didn't put on suspension nor the wide(r) tires.
btw, would've measured front bumper to ground but currently off car.

I know 16's are small but if I go 17's I'll have to go super low profile tires to clear the knuckles... besides they're 16x8 so they are pretty freaking wide and the more I look into these i'm pretty sure i'm gonna have to run spacers and longer wheel studs just to make them work ugh

The red ones I wanted, but couldn't find in a good enough size... if I went 17's I had an issue that the red portion was too small... and they didn't make 18's. So I been tryin to find some 18" wheels, red or not, just to powder coat red.

I did a photoshop...

I agree. My car is lowered and I have 18s on mine and they fit perfect. I think there will be too much of a gap between the fender and tire. But thats IMHO. But its your car so go for what you think looks best. Just don't go all JDM Honda on us. My cousin has an Integra and those Honda people think the ugliest JDM shit is the best looking parts for they're car.

just about every hondas around my area has something that looks equivalent to the second rims.

+1

I just want something different. I got my car with white kosei's... and then everyone had white wheels with a red car. So I traded them for some Rota Torques in flat black... but they just aren't what I want. I like those first wheels ALOT. Where you finding them at?

They both look decent but that is the style Honda's typically run.

As apposed to what DSM'rs typically run? Whats soo wrong with being different? I mean yeah sometimes it can get over whelming like orange wheels and green wheels n crap... But I've had a set of Acura RSX (Integra) Type R Wheels on my 1gb Talon, looked killer! I actually and reallllllllly upset I got rid of them... but I got a fully built 6bolt for a trade! :hellyeah: So its all good. I wanna find me some nice wheels that I haven't seen around on any ride, like those first ones... wow!

If you want different, pick the first ones. Color w/ polished lip is on 8/10 cars I see now days.

Purple pants with pink poka dots are different, but I bet none of you are rocking those around the mall.

Different isnt always good ;)

go with the first one my sis has some kinda like the second set on her lil eg

Id rock those first ones.....straight fire!!! the second set puts you in the category of hondas. Ive never actually seen those first ones although as said they do look like mustang rims..still nice none the less.

i agree with everyone else, id roll on the first ones since the second ones ARE honda-ish. well my tsi is rolling on some 16'' spyder eclipse rims with low pros.

I like the First ones as well. They do kind of look like mustang wheels but they also look lighter than the red wheels. A 16" Rim is a good size especially if you’re planning on running some drag radials or even on all seasons you are able to lower your tire psi to allow for a bigger foot print. For better traction it will also help for if you ever hit a pot hole not to damage the wheel. The 8" wide is also a nice choice.
That is what size Evo wheels are just in 17" :thumb:

thanks for all the input guys! I'll be running the first ones.

As to the Advan wheel's... I was gonna run those when i had my 95 240sx. Ever priced those? Yeah be prepared for 2k for just the rims (if your lucky) LOLz
