For those of you that don't know The englishtown mitsu vs subie day that is usually the month after the ohio shootout is now the same day. I guess this is going to really shake things up for those of us more local to englishtown rather then driving 5-7 hours to ohio.

I'm more diehard for ohio, whos coming with me? Ohio isn't for lovers, Its for DSM!

What ohio shootout? Are you talking about the Big dsm shootout this entire thread is about?

I love the DSM shootout. Been there twice... absolute heaven... it's breath taking.
Inspired me to get a DSM. Honestly, that specific date is on a timer in my head for 09' :)
I think I might go to the dyno competition this year.
Lucky me all I have to do is spend 30 minutes on a straight road to Norwalk:D

This will mark my third year going. My first year I went I left saturday morning drove 6+ hours parked at cedar point then it started to rain so I ate, camped out, woke up to rain ate at a dennys then drove home in the rain and fog for 8 hours. My friend and I absolutly loved the atmosphere of all the dsmers and he wasn't even a dsmer then. We drove over ten hours that weekend and all we got to see was parked dsmers cause of the rain and we were still hooked. He just went along for the ride and now he owns a high 12 second 1g. We promised to go again for last years and we got there a day earlier went to cedar point went to the dyno comp and the race track and had such an awesome time. This year, by the way this thread is looking my friend and I will get to meet a few others on rt 80 to convoy with and we should be bringing more people with us. Its become a tradition now. For those of you who don't like david buschur or his shop don't let that stop you. You will meet some of the coolest people and see some of the best comraderie unlike any other. Theres something awesome about seeing guys pulling transmissions and changes axles along with various other motor parts in hotel and campground parking lots with streetlights and cellphones for light. No one is a stranger. Have a friend who lives in illinois on the forums and always wanted to talk in person and show your car to them or take them for a pull to diagnose an issue? More then likely you'll meet at the shootout to do it.

For the people looking foward for there first shootout this year; You won't be dissapointed. rt80 for 6 hours is fun in itself let alone the beatiful roads and views once your there.:thumb:

That is legit. If anyone has the chance, GO.

Mmm, making me wanna go even more now. Gonna have to set some of the tax return aside

I think everybody on this forum matches the definition of true, loyal DSMers. With you guys our community will never die! Buschur obviously forgot his roots and where his fame came from! LONG LIVE TEH DSM! And honestly, I do not mean to offend anyone when I say I think the Mitsubishi Evo is too boxy. However with styling, some evos do look mean and agressive, which I do like. In conclusion I would take a 2G GSX over an evo anyday in the looks category and racing in general.

Been there every year since 2003- I even drove back out for the make-up race in October after the rainout two years ago. I will attend this event as long as it exists.

Stayed at the AmeriHost / American Inn the past two years, camped at the track a few times before that, even stayed at the "Norwalk Inn" a time or two. Everyone who's been to the Norwalk Inn surely knows about the "B" Button next to the TV and the glorious videography it displays when pushed. ;)

Sure there are cheaper hotels in the area than what you'll find along the strip there in Norwalk, but when you have 11 people in one room like we did last year, who gives a shit? It was less than $15 a person. The most fun you'll have the entire weekend is staying along that strip....sitting in the parking lot watching guys doing burnouts and ripping AntiLag at 1am, or changing clutches or turbos in the parking lot all night long just so they can run the next day and drive their cars back home. It's a one in a million event.

Last year my group had the most amount of guys in attendance since we began going so long ago- one buddy even made it to the final round in the Bracket 2 class. Sure made for a good time- I can't wait until Shootout '09.

Are they allowing camping at the track again? I thought they stopped that last year?. I really thought it would be awesome to do but we stayed at the Milan Trav-l-park campground. its literally right off the highway and its ten miles from norwalk, ten miles from cedar point and right next to food, gas stations, etc. Around 45 bucks for 4 people in my huge 16x12 tent with closets and a divider to make it a 2 bedroom. LOL The bathrooms and showers were a short walk away and we camped right next to Michigan Club Dsm which is an awesome group of dsmers. They even made there own professional t-shirts A map of a highway to the track with the highway signs for "EAT , SLEEP , DSM". THAT IS BADASS!!!!! They even bring a camper with them and last year that they hang a sheet over the awning and set up a projector. We watched talladega nights and the year before that we played playstation till the middle of the night and watched Days Of Thunder till 2-3am...
Oh not to mention the beautiful wake up call of an open turbo galant vr-4 that is VERY FAR FROM STOCK! driving past your tent early in the morning headed to the track and what do they do? ANTILAG!!! with c16 race fuel. LOL it was awesome. I can get used to that.
Lets not forget to mention that if one dsmer parks at ANY place near one of the major roads give it 15-20 minutes and then you have about 15-20 cars parking right next you just completly owning the store parking lots.

I never posted them on here but here is a link to my myspaceof some of the photos from the shootout. If you have one feel free to add me. Let me know what you guys think.

So who's still planning on attending Norwalk versus that other event at E-town the same day?

The Shootout, the community and Buschur Racing - Buschur Forums

Still feel this way?

I just read that whole thing and it just confirms my choice to say forget internet drama and support the comunity. The guy comes out of pocket for us every year and people want to just not go because or stuff that happend on the internet:notgood:

If after reading that post by him anyone still feels like they don't want to go then so be it but I hold a mans actions a lot higher then what he types on his computer.

I registered on that site just to post what I thought and ask him to come on here to try and get people to realise this is for us and it's a bad ass event that I feel east coast guys including myself have been missing out on.

Thank you to all of you who plan on coming to Ohio. Your support means alot to Buschur Racing as well as to all of the other enthusiasts who travel from all over the world who make the Shootout what it is. Last year was the largest shootout ever! We hope this one is even larger!

We are also having a discussion very similar to this over in this thread on here as well for those of you who may not have seen it. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/hangout/323709-dsm-shootout.html

I been wanting to go to a shootout and im finally going this year... im requesting some days off work and im gonan book a hotel. Now i gotta get all the cars up and running and get my friends to get off work as well.

Thank you guys for the support. We are trying to make some changes around here, as you guys can see from the big post on our site.

I, of course, feel that the DSM/EVO Shootout can't be beat if you are a DSM/EVO enthusiast. I also am fully aware that the Shootout is about much more than myself or Buschur Racing. It's about the good times, the friendships and comradery.

Anyway, I hope to see a lot of you guys come out again this year, I honestly think that even with the competing event the Shootout will have it's biggest year.

As a side note, Ron Shearer from Shearer Fabrications stepped up today with a big pay out for the Q16 class. $4,000 is what is up just for Q16 this year and that requires no buy in to the class, just your $35 entry fee to the track. THANK YOU Ron!!

Have a great day guys, hope to see you in August.

Things just became interesting :hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah:

I'm glad to see that Buschur is trying to make things right. Acknowledging that one has had a poor attitude is probably the hardest step. However, like someone already said, actions speak louder than words, and I look forward to seeing if Buschur truly acts on his lengthy post (which I read).

ugh and im in the middle of my build so money is super tight...
im gunna stick to jersey this year next year tho we should have a convoy going up there
