Anyone know where I can get High Octane Unleaded, somewhere near Reading?

I'm having a knock problem, and would like to see if it is just bad gas.

Thanks much.

Well I just heard in Allentown there is a gas station that has e85. Don't know if you want to go that route

I'd like to switch over to E85, but Allentown is about an hour drive for me.

I know they have race gas at Maple Grove, but they are closed for the off season.

Best thing i know of is 93 in the Reading area. Sorry man.

Actually, do you know where 73 and Rt 12 meet. There is a place called Tailgaters? Turn left at that intersection and go down a little ways and on your left is a fuel stop. They have leaded and unleaded gas. Also in leesport there is a place to get it. I can find out names if you would like.

If you could find the names out, it would be very helpful. I know where Tailgaters is, but don't remember seeing anything around there.

Thanks.

What octane are you looking for? I think my stepfather gets 110 leaded for like 5 a gallon.

I need unleaded. I'd be happy with anything 100+, higher the better.

And you will pay out the ASS for it. Do not go there. The place i was talking about is Willow Creek Fuel. They have a website. And their prices are reasonable.

Thanks James, good looking out.

Think I found my knock problem. I have SS heat shield on my exhaust manifold, it was resonating when ever I hit 3000 rpms for some reason.

I'll probably pick up a few gallons just to see what my 16G can do, before I put my Holset on.

Thanks for everyones help.

Which holset you got? I am getting a hx40 tomorrow? We gotta meet up some time.

I got a WH1C with a BEP .55 housing. WH1C is the same as a HX-35, but off a 94.

What are you going to do for the water pipe clearance? I got NT pipe, I'm going to dent, but I'll to get rid of the oil cooler then.

Im going to run a nice t3 housing with a t3 manifold made to clear the water pipe. I also have a NT water pipe and i am running a oil cooler. So i will be good for now as far as i know.

I will be putting this in my talon, not my laser which is in my profile pics. So, it will be 5 months or so until I actually run this turbo.

Its leaded. My stepfather gets sunoco purple for his 66 vette, which is 110 but its leaded. I will call for us tomorrow morning.

James :laser::talon:

I know that they only carry sunoco products from what my SF tells me. They have had it for some time now too, he was buying it before summer last year.

I wanna buy like 102 unleaded and see what i can blow up.

What are you doing with 116? Is your car ready for meth? My stepfather buys 4 gallon jugs for like approx 5 some. Again, that was during summer. Prices have dropped now. Even on race gas.

James :laser::talon:

I used it at the drag strip. I've got the tune pretty much done, but I still get a few blips of knock. I ran the 116 to eliminate the knock and allow me to run leaner and higher timing. I got it down to 11.6:1 and 19.3* of timing. And that was pretty conservative. I also have some E85 at home, but I don't know what I'm going to do with it. Right now I'm too lazy to retune the car, but maybe if I'm bored I'll use it.
