Ok, so I'm sick of having to look at other people's pictures and hearing all about the shootout. I want to go! I've already OK'd it with the will-be wifey ROFL and she doesn't care so I'm golden. Now what I want to do is find others who would be interested in taking the ride out there with me. The more the merrier (and cheaper)

Hotel: Places seem to run about $150 a night so 2-3 nights would be 300-450 divided by however many people in the room. (I know a bunch of people that stay at the amerihost, so it would be my first choice but obviously it's not set in stone)

Gas: I have no qualms about driving the evo (even though it's not the best on gas) It's reliable and can fit 4 comfortably. Total gas cost for the trip should be in the neighborhood of $180 round trip assuming 1000 miles driving, 22mpg and $4/gallon gas

Food/beer: I can't figure it out for you some of you guys can drink a lot more than me :D
I'm thinking for myself $100-$200 max.

In total I'm thinking the trip can cost about $350/person for two people, less if you get more than 2 to a hotel room.

NOTE: WE DO HAVE A RAIN DATE FOR RACING IN CASE WE NEED IT. IF IT WERE TO RAIN OUT ON THE 16TH WE WILL BE RACING ON MONDAY THE 17TH.

I'm in, Corey. I'm also fed up with missing this event every year. Rain or shine, DSM or not, I'm going in 2009.

Alright, that's it, I'm holding you to it, no backing out now LOL

Finally got to go this year but I'll cruise with you for the 4 hour trip that I have. I can meet you's on 80 or whatever route you are going to go.

80 across the entire state of PA :D

How does the friday before the event sound? Leaving around noon from exit 299 on rt80 and camping at the milan travel park all weekend. My friend and I wound up doing dyno day saturday morning and then cedar point at night and then the race on sunday. left at 5pm for our journey home. it was one hell of a great time but it gets very lonely being the only 2 dsms on the highway for 95% of the ride. We both got 30mpg on the 420 mile journey so fuel cost really isn't that bad and camping was cheap, I think 46 dollars for 4 people for 2 nights in a 16x12 tent. Where I camped was 10 miles from cedar point, 10 miles from norwalk and about 1 mile from rt 80.

Like I told you in that one thread corey we def have to go. I want to have the talon ready by then and I want to run her. I will be picking up a trailer. I can't use my jeep that I will be using to bring my car back and forth to atco but I could rent or borrow something bigger for the trip. FInd out home many people would be interested. We could pitch in rent a rig or something take all of our cars down ther. I have connects with dealerships and what not around here and might be able to get a good deal.

We stayed at the trevel park last your too. We will def be there again next year. We drove up Thursady night, got there Friday morning, went to Cedar Point around noon on Friday stayed till around 8pm. Then Saturday I dropped but the open house, while Shawn was testing at the track. I can't wait till next year. We may do one of the indoor water parks next year. Keep in touch.

this sounds like a great idea.....not sure if i would drive the talon thought LOL thats a long way in these cars LOL

That's why if we get like a big rig to transfer them all that would be perfect. I mean either way I'm picking up a trailer for my car and hauling it out there but a rig would be a good alternative for all of us

some questions to answer
Camping? Hotel? Driving? Towing? Leave Friday? Leave Saturday? Cedar Point? Kalahari? Or just relaxing? I know we still have alot of time and plans can change faster then a pair of pants but I'm just curious.

BUMP. Just trying to get an idea on whose still interested, I bet Tom and Slippi are

Campings not a bad idea, Hotel, I know a ton of guys who stay at the amerihost/american inn, I was contemplating staying there, but hell you can always visit too. I may just book a room now and if I cancel down the road I cancel, but I know they fill up fast. Driving/towing. I'm game to drive myself and three other people. Towing also sounds cool though if Slippi can find out the details on renting a trailer. I wouldn't mind towing the eclipse (depending on cost) and driving the evo :sneaky: Leave Friday or Saturday? I'd say it's a weekend of fun, gotta leave friday and get there friday night

Yup I'm still down. I want to run in the quick 16 if everything goes right with this car so I will DEF be going

I'm still there. I think I'm going to camp next year. Bring the grill and sip some beers. We will probably end up leaving Friday. So far my brother and I are going, towing his talon behind the diesel, and a couple other local boys might tag along too. I'm pumped.:rocks:

hey man, i have a 93 gsx and i'm all stock except a 3 inch turbo back, i have a huge dent in my rear quarter panel. Would still be able to run in the stock looking DSM bracket? I just want to see how fast i can get my car down the strip. LOL If i am OK to run then i am DEFF in, NO question about it. And even if i can't run I'd like to go just to see all the DSM's! get back to me on if i'll be able to run. And also i'm pretty close to pittsburgh so i could just drive there and not tow. But just get back to me on everything. Thanks!

Lmao yeah you'll be fine...there is NO dent checker at the Shootout LOL

When they say STOCK APPEARING they mean must have a full exhaust all the way back, Must have all the seats in the car, Must have a Dashboard, DOT street tires...It just has to look kinda stock. They dont mean it can't have dents or Fu-ked up paint.

alright cool. but i'm not gonna be able to take the first gen. some guy pulled out infront of me and i was doing 30. and couldn't stop in time. So needless to say it's done! I'll post pics if you guys want me too. hopefully i'll have another DSM by then.
