7" tall air/air intercooler
Revhard exhuast manifold

Boost was in the 26-27psi range. Blue line on graphs are boost. Best pull was 530whp. This was on a Dynapack Dyno. It is uber conservative compared to other dynos in town. Reads a hair lower to about the same as a Mustang Dyno. We made 15 pulls today with all pulls being 500-530whp. Not bad for wastegate pressure.

you tease you tease!!!!

Cant wait to see the power #'s! Spool looks good. Hope all is well with the car and you can show us some power out of the setup!

for that sized turbo, and it seems to ramp up pretty fast when it did start spooling.

I didnt want to be a jerk and say "post up a real damn dyno sheet or change the title"

The spool isnt bad at all. I have a H1e with the holset 14cm T3 housing and it doesnt hit full boost (33 psi) till 6250 rpms.

I think it is great considering that is is in the neighborhood of a GT42. As well as the dyno being at 6000ft above sea level. And the fact that the turbine is larger than a T4 1.44a/r housing. I think it did great.

And there will not be nitrous on this car. It is plummed. But it is against the rules. This is a salt flat car and nitrous is not allowed there. And the gearing he needs to pulls is the RPM's this turbo shines at.

And it spools faster than a friends 2.3L GT42 ballbearing from no boost to full boost. It ramps up insanely on this car. Albiet later than the other car.

This was just to show all those who have been buzzing about the HX-52 what it can do.

As far as numbers, just snoop around for what GT42's do at those boost levels. That will give you an idea.

Good job dude. Keep going.

Sick, sorry to hear about the mishap, hopefully you can get it figured out soon and keep rocking

Yeah, I didn't think you would spool it as soon as I read something about a t-6 . I'm still very curious to how long it would last and pictures of the setup if you have them. Are you using the stock intake manifold to help spool the turbo, or you haven't changed over to an afftermarket unit? I've noticed you seem to use the "stocker" on your builds more then most.

This is someone else's car. A good friend of mine. He see's no point in going to a different intake. He does have a few tricks done though.

My car can't fit many intakes. Niether could the mirage. But most important is I have never had the money at the right time for an intake. Heck, after 7 years I finally got my first set of aftermarket cams two weeks ago. My ideal intake manifold for my personal car would be the forrester racing intake. After seeing a few in person it would be the only way I would want to go.

Basically for me, I just try and make the most of what I have always. I am not super rich and have bills and life to live. Even, though I have spent some serious cash, I try to compliment parts and build the best I can.

Numbers installed in the first post. Rebuilt the engine saturday night, ended up being the owners fault. Helped him this time and made sure things were right this time. That happens when you work 20-22 hours a day for two straight weeks. Made 15 clean pulls today on the dyno. He and his brother are currently in route to World Of Speed in Utah.

It is in the first post. Read like you were taught to.

Yes, I am retarded! LOL. Nice numbers. Once it's really pushed boost wise is when she will shine!

Wow! Get the boost remotely close to where the turbo was built an you're looking at 650whp. That is, if he even wants to go this far. This turbo has 300whp more in it for sure LOL . I can't believe this is a hair over 25psi. I don't think some of us understand how much this thing flows. The spool looks great for a +90 lb/min turbo.

Yeah run more dam bost I wanna see some 700+hp levels LOL. Good job man:thumb: I planned on running more like 456 psi with my hx52 so seeing this makes me pretty souped at what that kinda boost might make. Is this on a 2.0 or 2.3? I'm not gonna lie I can't tell boost response/lag from these kinda graphs and I know you used the same type with your 650hp hx40 setup

Again. This is a low reading load bearing dyno. I am not sure I would say it is more than a GT42, but right about what one can do. Most guys are doing 600-650whp on dynojets with GT42's at this boost level. I firmly believe we would be right there on a dynojet.

For now the boost will stay down so the car can stay reliable. We want to see what 40+psi would do, but he has an event today(wednesday) in utah. It is a four day race so we need the car to stay together.

This power level will pull the mph he needs for his record.

Man that would have to be a real low reading dyno to read 100-150whp off. I didn't think that the number you made were that off just want to see you run more boost but I understand why your not completely. Holset's like a lot of boost to make the power their capable off. The jump in hp isn't as liner as a garret when you add psi. I honestly believe just adding 10 psi would net some crazy gains as this thing probably doesn't wake up till 35+ psi from looking at mine.

I have seen back to back runs between the dynos. But that is not my arguement. It has more and made great power at low boost. I was begging to turn the boost up but he would not let me.

Steven

Very respectible man. That thing spools much faster than I thought it would. I was expecting to see full spool about 7-7.5K RPM. Your hitting it right around 6700 RPMs. You are loosing a decent amount of power from just that very lean AFR. Being you can get the HX52 for 1/4 the price of a GT42 I would have to say it's nothing to be talking down what so ever.

With some more tuning I'm thinking you can be seeing 600+ at your current boost power level. What are you running for a fuel pump and injectors in this car?

We actually did finish the tune. I just did not bring any sheets home as peak numbers and spool did not change. The reason for the higher ratios on top was on that pull we still had the incorrect gear ratio on the dyno. They set it according to the race pack tachometer. The pull or two after what was above, we went off the ecu signal(dsmlink) and got it right. The next run it revved out to 8500 rather than 7000.

As far as 600hp at this boost level. Like I said, it was not going to happen. A full smooth tune netted no change in peak numbers. His timing is conservative and ratios were in the 11.3-11.5:1 range being as he left that night for a race 2000 feet lower.

His fuel is 1600's, aeromotive regulator, walbro 255 feeding an aeromotive eliminator pump. His duty cycles are currently 35%.

For the price and performance so far, I see no reason to even consider a GT42. Especially after we tuned our Borg Warner S374 this week on our 2G. The garrett stuff is a joke and behind the times if you ask me.

Oh. and I maxed a GT4202 on monday night on a friends 2G. Airflow stopped climbing after 41psi. This was with a 1.0 bar and .7 bar spring in each wastegate.
