I have an extra, open-face HJC helmet you may be able to use. I can bring it for you to use while we're at the track. :thumb:

Awesome thanks! Just called my work, the shift change has to get accepted by one of the managers, and if it doesn't I'm gonna be pissed because I've already picked up so many extra shifts for them.

Are we gonna meet up before hand or anything?

We are planning on meeting up for lunch before we head to the track. Not sure about the time and place yet; i'll try and get it sorted out by tomorrow evening.

Ill be back around 8 p.m. Friday night.. I leave Saturday for Rockingham around 10 so at least we can meet up and have lunch around 11 or noon. Im going to come straight up highway 1 so any body outta south carolina want to meet up before then just let me know. Are any of the guys meeting up before coming down?

In reguards to meeting up for lunch in Rockingham before we head to the track Saturday; I think it would be best if we plan on meeting at the Taco Bell on E Broad Ave. This will be one of the cheapest places and if anyone wants to grab a bite somewhere else, then there are a ton of alternatives on the same street; 2 McDonald's, a BK, Wendy's, Arby's, Subway, DQ, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Hardee's, KFC, Bojangle's, Sonic, Papa John's, Fatz Cafe, Shoney's, Huddle House, Great China Buffet, and...well, you get the idea.

So, again: Taco Bell on E Broad Ave for lunch around 12:30-1:00pm.

Sound good to everyone?

Sure,I just hope the race track has a lot of bathrooms to handle the sudden influx of DSMers with upset stomachs :p. You guys wont miss me, I'll be the guy in the talon that's 3 different shades of red and either idling really rough or surging. :p

this is total bull sh*t buy my work said the person I found to cover my shift wasn't "trained" to do what I do AKA washing the damn dishes. So unless i find someone to cover for me tonight I wont be making this meet:cry:.

Don't feel bad. I took the car out to tune it and I have a massive boost leak somewhere; and my damn EGT probe is broken. I love a challenge.:notgood:

Good luck; hope you can find someone to cover for you.

Over the past couple of hours we have had some "developments" concerning the Shootout for tomorrow. A friend called to inform me that on the Rockingham Dragway (R.D.) site it's posted that the track will not be open for us until 7pm! Track closes at 11pm. So, I called R.D. and spoke with the track commissioner, John. He said that he was unaware that we were coming at all! So, he's going to look into it and see what he can do.

:: Rockingham Dragway.com - THE ROCK ::

After I got off the phone with him, I called Dee (Melco_4G63T). He said that he was in contact with R.D. on more than one occasion and they were aware that we would be there, and that they informed him the track would be open to us at 3pm. So, I e-mailed John about what the plan was and explained that we had all been planning for this since the end of June; i'm still waiting on a reply or e-mail from John, so check back frequently.

Here's where we're at so far:
* The track won't be open to us until 7pm.-- I'm trying to see if we can start any earlier; closer to 3pm, as planned.
* They say they didn't know we were coming.-- When we do start John said he may be able to get 2 lanes, so just the people who come for the Shootout will run against each other.

I understand that, for many it's a long way to come if we don't know for sure. (4 hours for me) Dee or myself will keep everyone up-to-date on what develops.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this Meet/Shootout is going to POSTPONED. John @ R.D. didn't get back with me and I spoke with Dee; we don't want everyone waiting around any later. Sorry for the inconvenience.

* We will still be planning to have a Shootout.* Me and Dee think October would be good; some people were thinking it was not until October anyway. Others don't have thier cars ready. This will give everyone more time to get ready and hopfully will mean more people will be able to make. Dee and myself will be calling R.D. next week to get some open dates, so hopefully we may be able to get the track for the day; this is what i'm pushing for. I hope this doesn't ruin everyones weekend.

On another note, I know a few DSMers are going to be going to Z-MAX in Concord, NC for the open house. I now will be attending also; i'll be in the 90' Laser. Dee said he may be going also. If anyone else would like to come, that would be great. We could make a meet out of it. Hope to see you there, and sorry again about inconvenience.

zOMG you just made my f*cking day! I was so pissed about not being able to go, I was thinking of not showing up OMG. Please tell us the date ASAP. Oh and please dont pick oct. 18th because my sister would be pissed I didn't go to her weddingROFL.

p.s. By then i should have my car painted...gonna have maaco do it.OMG

Hey this is Dee and I want to appoligize to all of you guys about this...A couple months ago I spoke to the track director and it was set by word of mouth from him that it would be earlier than planned. Now when things were checked by boostjunki84 and i appreciate everything is that iw was moved back to 7 instead of 3. that wouldnt be fair to make passes that late with people coming more than 4 hours to run and even with a trailer car that is to much. I know there was more coming from Beaufort and Hilton Head and that is way for because I live that way. For the guys sister that drives a dsm...18th is mark out on my planner to. Ill make some phone calls tomorrow and get more info. Also Im going to Concord to zmax in the morning to. Join if u can and it might be better for us putting some stuff together in the future. Like I said...this is two states that can carry twice a many dsms. We need to rep and not just in our group but when everybody come from all over the eastern seaboard to come to Myrtle. Just keep the Hope and will get the bugs worked out on this one

18th noted.:thumb: Yea I had Macco do the Laser; I think it turned out pretty good, cosidering the price. (See my Profile)

how much did you pay? Im going tomorrow to get a quote on their 2-step(base and clear). I plan on doing A LOT of prep work before had and spraying a primer because I'm getting a color change. I was going to have my bro's friend do it for really cheap(he has a painting both in his garage LOL), but he sliced his achilles tendon.

If you just want them to spray it, it will probably only be like $300-$400; mine was about $850, but I had them fix a spot of minor body damage around the rear quarter and they did all the prep work.

I just got off the phone with John at Rockingham Dragway and here's where we are at.

The only open date in October in Saturday the 4th. All they are having is a test and tune from 7-11pm and an RC car shootout during that time. John told me if we wanted that date, they will open the track to us at 3pm, instead of 7pm; that would give us 4 hours with the track before the TNT starts. At that time, we would have 2 lanes reserved for us to continue racing each other until 11pm.

Entry cost is $20 for car and driver; $10 just to watch. We will also have trophies for 1st and 2nd place. We can also plan to meet for lunch in Rockingham around 12-12:30pm, for those interested.

I will post more information as I get it. Does this seem reasonable to everyone?

So 8 hours of track time total? seems fine.
