yea sorry i forgot to add i do have a boost gauge, and im buying a logger this thursday, but i was thinking of getting the bundle thingy that extremepsi has it has a fuel pump and fuel pump and injectors i think for 500, and get an evoIII16g from them, then a front mount from punishement racing, and an intake and i think i will be broke by then

also guys i have been told to go with the MAF-T for tunning, now i want something really easy to tune would this be ok? and if i get the evo16g what size injectors should i get and fuel pump, i want to run the most boost that i can with pump gas 93 octane, and if i got the MAF-T would i need a SAFC?

the maft and maf are a great upgrade deff worth it and there simple to tune with a logger and a/f guage if you know what your doing

I wouldn't get a Maf-t until you're moving enough air to max out a 2g, 3g or Evo mas.. Each time the weather changes, the tune with a maf-t will too..

With $2500 I would get:
Walbro 190 or 255 (255 requires an adjustable FPR)
rewire the fuel pump
650-660cc injectors
Intake
2g, 3g or Evo mas
Dsmlink
Wideband (Innovative LC-1)
Evo 3 16g
custom front mount kit
Drag radials

The only things 'used' out of this would be the front mount kit, mas, and possibly the intake.. Everything else would be new.. Depending on your driving abilities (and the track you choose), you will have enough power to get well into the 12's..

DSMlink should definitely be the next thing on that list.

Thats what I'd love to get for Christmas! :thumb:

Definitly, Yes! If your going to drop $2500 on your car in one crack, it would be a real smart thing to do! Nobody ever regret getting Link and it's never to early either.

like the title says i have a little extra money on hand but by looking at my profile mods what would you spend 1000 on i was thinking of doing it this way, what would you change.

A mbc would be much cheaper and perform just as good. Unless you just want something to control boost from inside the car. Also I dont know about those gauges man, I would look into autometer.

I personally don't think electronic boost controllers or turbo timers are worth getting. EBC's are cool, but not $300 cool IMO, especially when you can get a used FMIC for that price. If I were going to get an electronic boost controller, I'd use megasquirt and have slowly integrate it into standalone mode :D

It's my own opinion that turbo timers as a waste of fuel, and money, especially with water cooled housings. They don't get that hot from normal driving, so just drive it normally for a few minutes before you shut it down if you've been beating on it. Everything else looks good though.

Skip the turbo timer and the ebc....

A MBC will do you just fine...

Since you have a 99 like me you should already have the revised lifters so theres no need to buy them when you already have them.....

Skip them gauges and look into autometers....You do not need an a/f gauge maybe a nice oil pressure should do the trick, egt is nice for monitering engine temps and boost is a necessity

Get a hard pipe set or a fmic depending on future mods.....

B&M as well as symborski shift kit and under hood bushings FTW.....

Now your probably around lets say 650 which should be over estimating the prices

Then you can still buy a decent 3" down pipe, Megan Racing seems to be growing in popularity these days....plus they have the straightest route compared to the old and outdated apex'i n1(considering that your HKS Special doesn't have 1 and its just a cat-back style)

that means you got around 800ish now gone, 200 left....
Do maintenance things, fresh oil using your favorite blend (I use Mobil 1 10w-30)
Change out them plugs to NGK-R BPR7ES at the local advance/autozone.
Then buy some Nice size plug wires 8.5 mm should be plenty......
That almost puts you at about 900 as long as your doing the installation yourself...
Go to the local home depot/lowes and get the nessary parts needed to make yourself a Boost leak tester....Them fix any leaks you find with excess cash....And their will be leaks....Hope Anything I wrote helps

Ive heard the EBC are more prone to boost spikes also. Go with the MBC.

Short shifter (look into the eBay knock-offs), Symborski kit, and Prothane motor mounts - yes.
Turbo timer - eh.
EBC and lifters - no.

Also, I wouldn't get the air/fuel gauge as it's only a narrowband gauge and isn't really useful (except to see if you're running pig rich or really lean).

Get an mbc (make one - http://www.geocities.com/chmwatson/FAQs/mbc.html). Maybe look into getting a fuel pump (or at least rewire your current one). Maybe a downpipe and high flow cat. Also, look into a logger, as it will come in handy.

And obviously, do all maintenance and get rid of boost leaks.

Exactly, I didn't. I could've said go get a Fidanza short shifter, many people prefer that over the B&M clones/authentic ones. Just ask DGajre777...

I understand that (and am not trying to start a fight). I just saw it as you telling him not to get a short shifter at all. I think it is a great upgrade and seeing as he wants to know how much/what all he can get for $1k, we recommended the eBay knock-off since it can be had for under $40 shipped. I could've also recommended doing the bearing mod for the underhood bushings (instead of the SpeedSource brass ones). I'm just thinking in the interest of trying to get as many parts for as little money :thumb:
