I told you guys government has gotten wayyy outa hand and you guys thought I was crazy or wayyy off base...Oh no I'm not!!!!

LOOK!!! :sosad: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19340210/

Fine/Impound with a chance to get it back I can understand or even revoking license for a while but CRUSHING??? WTF

I really think they just may go on a frenzy in the next few years and start lie'n on all of us just to force us to buy new American cars.

look at it this way. if your not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about. Its not about honda/acura foreign/domestic . its about legal and illegal

True but there's one thing that's not right here. Their cars were also crushed for having stolen parts. One of the guys showed a receipt for proof that he bought it. They crushed the car just because he had a stolen transmission in there (that he wasn't aware of). The only good reason to crush someone's car is if they're caught street racing and have a bad driving record.

I feel that repeat street racing offenders (3 or 2 if they are bad ones) should have their cars crushed no matter what. This should be spread across the nation to all the states as well.

I guess it's that part of me that is growing older. I even find myself eyeballing cruiser motorcycles more often then bullet bikes these days...... Next on the list must be prune juice and bingo.

Will the same rule go for "Classic American Muscle?" What about the Exotic car that can go 200 from factory, but isn't modified for the street. Does that fit the bill too? I think their's not enough of a line drawn to deem a car "juiced up for the street" I mean is their a NOS bottle I don't know about that says Street Use Only?

I would say crush the damn Geo Metro if it is street racing. I also agree whole heartedly with crushing the Bugatti Veyron that is caught street racing as well.

It is not a matter of the vehicle, it is a matter of the driver having to learn a lesson.

LOL im sure that will go over well when my bank tries to reposess a car that no longer exists after i stop paying the loan payments. my credit score might take a hit but oh well, it gets better after a few years.

its so stupid though, they waste a hour pulling over and impounding a piddly shit thing like streetracing when during that hour there were countless drivers well over the legal limit that drove by that scene, each of them more likely to cause damage than the chances of the two streetracers doing the equavilent.

It's simple..

1.) Don't use stolen parts

Their cars were only crushed because of the stolen parts. No stolen parts = no crushing...

Its not that simple.....you might buy a part from someone who who thought they got the part legitimately, but it ends up being stolen.

Everything I buy for my car has a recipt that I file away.

What scares me is the guy who got pulled over for the broken taillight, cops ask to look under the hood why???? They find a transmission with no vin..so it must be stolen....he gets his car crushed.

I'm afraid to cruise down to cali for a roadtrip, just for fear of being harrased by the cops and asking to look for things to impound my car.

im with big rand unless you buy things directly from mitsubishi, or whatever brand you want you cant be positive its not stolen. Thats ridiculous that they crushed his car just for that he should sue them or something.

I say don't waste the car by crushing it. Sell the car at auction and give the money to charity. Crushing them is like throwing money down the drain.

Hoang said he was caught late last year racing his prized car on which he spent at least $10,000 to get into top shape. The 350-horsepower engine topped out at 160 mph, Hoang said, swearing it could beat a Corvette or even a Ferrari.

*holding in laugh*

The reason these cars are crushed is because of what we are doing right now.

Getting the message out there.
Stree race, we crush your car.
Accept stolen good, we crush your car.
Do something illegal and stupid, we crush your car.

If your Paris hilton, you get a 1million deal after serving half of your original 45day jail sentance.

What if they crushed cars for DUI's???? I would love to see how cali would respond?

^^^This asks the question, aren't there more important things out there to focus on than street racing? Street racing is horrible, but instead of crush cars, why not the government offer people better opportunities to race their cars legally? LACR is dead... There's an avid street racing community in my neck of the woods but no actual race track. I'm sure if a legal option was available, illegal street racing would stop. Just my .02 cents :thumb:

I disagree, it's just not cool. People do it, justbecause it's illegal.

It's like the speed limit rule we all follow. And this has been proven.

Speed Limit is 45 mph, and everyone goes 65 mph. They changed the speed limit to 65 mph. You think everyone went 65 mph? Nope, everyone now goes 85 mph.

Ya,

I feel as if the govt is being a lil prejudice towards enthusiasts..

Drunk drivers are gauranteed after leaving a bar and most accidents happen then..

Why not give them a scare instead of singling us out? I don't race but I speak on behalf..

My mechanic has a civic that eats up my eclipse - look at my mods. And don't cop out by saying it's the driver.

Bash the Accord mods. But I think the Honda holds it's own.

I saw him smoke a GTO 6.0 - BUILT.

So if your in Des Moines - look us up.

Oh by the way he probably has about $3000 (if that much) in his civic - compared to my $10,000

This is a ####ing joke, though not suprising coming from the great state of Kalifornia. What a garbage ass state. We need to just somehow detatch it from the rest of the country and be done with it.

Whats funny is how much trouble the state is making for itself being even thinking of imposing such a law. Tell me this: If you are street racing, wrong or right, and you have all of this money tied up into your pride and joy, when the cops turn on those lights and you KNOW your vehicle is getting crushed, are you going to just pull over? I know I wouldn't, I'm ####ing running, don't matter what happens after, I'm screwed anyhow, I'll just take whatever chance I can.

This is outragous, and is comparable to throwing a person who legally caries a conceled weapon in jail for murder. So, because he has the ABILITY to kill, he is automaticly guilty? So if I have the modification on my car that allows me to run 10 sec in the quarter mile, I'm guilty before I even street race? I call bullshit. So, if thats the case, I guess cars like Ferraris and Lambos should be crushed right off the showroom floor, they are cars capable of speeds way over legal limit as well, right?

Worthless state.

EDIT: My work filters alot of the stuff here, I think this story is in Canada. Regardless, California sucks.

I do think it is to much for owning a car with stolen parts, IF IF you can show some proof that you legally purchased the parts they should leave your butt alone and go after who sold X shop/store the stolen parts.

I wonder if they bothered returning the stolen parts to their rightful owners? Wouldn't that make them just as guilty as the person who had them on his car? Maybe they should crush Arnolds HumVee to make up for it.:sneaky:

I don't mind if people get ####ed for street racing. Well, I do mind but I know as well as everyone else the street racer isn't the most innocent soul out there...

But when their fun leaks out and ruins it for everyone else... that's when it sucks. If I got pulled and booked because some cop learned to profile DSMs along with Hondas and whatever else, I'd be pretty pissed to... Especially if I wasn't or don't street race.

But then again... that's how it always is. A few ruin it for everyone. Thank god I love in LA where they don't pull over for traffic violations... let alone smaller things for shit :rocks:

(knocks on wood)...
