you do realize, 4 months down the road after you sell yours, your gonna be online, and you'll find a cheap one, and its just like hitting the RESTART button

thats what im gonna try and not do, but you know how that goes, i really miss my srt, but then again comes the modding, thats why i like the a4 idea. But who knows, i could get my talon running and it make me completely happy, set it at 15lbs and call it a day

thats the spirit :D

keep the talon... going thruogh enw cars always sucks, you have to do the same basic shit everytime u get a new car, dont forget about insurance registration changes... just keep the talon and not do anything to it...

I picked up a 06 tundra in November of last year, I kinda miss the v8 sounds!
I figured if the DSM takes a dump i can tow it myself!
I just need a DSM link for my ride, but ive been consdering getting some 60s iron again!

i think some of you missed his budget of 6k. I would look for a 2ga turbo if i were in the situation and keep it stock, use whatever money you have left over for minor repairs.

6k would be enough for a 2gb ... but this guy wants to get AWAY from these cars so why would he want another one! I'm in the same situation but my car is so extensively modded I can't sell it for the life of me. I just want enough to by a camaro with the money to daily drive. I would look for an lt1 camaro with 6k. Nice car, reliable, t tops, quick, respectable and you gotta love that v8 sound.

Gees thats a tough one...for the last 3 years i've been stuck on tel and i seriously can't think of something else that i like. Maybe get a jeep wrangler? Or a cherokee? I saw one of those things supercharged...with the 4wd. It was actually reaaally quick.
As for the elantra. I wouldn't get any vehicle from kia or hyundai that doesn't have the existing warrenty: 5yr/60kmi. Everything before a few years ago is crap.
I like the audi's as well but parts costs are rediculous and you DO know how the german cars like to take a crap after 150k. S4's are nice but too expensive. You could find a decent audi for around 5k alot newer than 90.
I say stick with a honda, nissan or an old subbie. They have the best reputation in my book. Try a nice Altima or maybe a N/A 300zx, or an old subaru awd vehicle?? Also a nice prelude. That would be the street I would travel but its up to you. I do strongly agree with the idea of detuning your talon and driving that. It's hard to find awd these days thats easy on your pocket.
Good luck with the decision.

I just sold my built 1997 gsx and I'm looking for a new car. I'm looking for something I can daily drive, that's still fun, reliable, good looking, comfortable, decently quick and so on. I'm just looking for ideas or suggestions on what car would suit me. I'll have roughly $10000 to spend because I don't want to finance. So far I'm considering 93+ trans ams and camaros, 97+ gst spyder, 97+ grand prix, 99+ grand am. That's all I've come up with so far. Thoughts?

Grand prix gtp's are fun and you can make them decently fast. I would personally go with a ls1 camaro or trans am. GST spyder you probably already know what your in for. Grand am, now that would just suck.

I own a 94 transam, its a awsome car and while the LS1 is faster and better they are still far from being slow. They go high 13s stock and like boltons, and with a good cam can do over 350whp and with a head and cam package can go way over 400whp on motor.

Lt1 is a cheaper car to mod, and head n cams go from 1,200-2,200 on ave.

It wasnt to bad on gas and it never gave me any big problems, stock it will still do 150mph there good cars. I would take it over a SN95 mustang or cobra, and there mean looking...

If you want to go high 13s get a GTP but anything faster starts to cost alot of money, there not bad cars im not really a fan of them and I wouldnt buy a grandam since well its pointless to mod it when you can own a GTP...

Ever look into 3000ZXs ill own one someday its one of my dream cars, I could talk all day about it LOL

If you have a few thousand to spend extra, I would go with the LS1 but parts are alot more. Motors arnt cheap for LS1s, but power is there both cars LT1s and LS1s are great for drag and good cars.

I say since your looking for a daily and if youw ant power behind it also that could come with extra time and money would be a "infinity G20" 99-02 to me those cars so0o sexy I cant wait to get my own and put a sr20det in it and have nothing but fun.

grand ams...grand prix??? for god sakes man dont DOWNGRADE, atleast get a t/a, camaro or maybe a stang, but please please dont get a damn pontiac.

Gas prices *cough cough* get something that you can at least take roadtrips and be at least 30mpg.

Grand am / grand prix were options because they are cars that I wouldn't want to mod at all because ... well that would just be ghey. They also get decent gas mileage and are comfortable. I like the trans ams and camaros a lot, but I'd probably get tempted to mod them.

Joey - I kind of want something that has around 350 whp or so on motor .... how streetable are those cars once you do heads and cam? I mean, in any weather any type of traffic ... are there any real problems or side effects?

Red97 - I still like dsms ( bolt on dsms ) but not enough to want a regular gst. gsx wouldnt be a good call because I'd start modding it hardcore again. gst spyder would be a fun highway car without too much money invested, and a great cruiser around town with the top down. Tough call!

I've been researching both lt1 and ls1 camaros and TAs for the last few days and it looks like it will be one of those. Now I need to ask what's a fair price to expect to pay with moderate mileage ( lower than 90k )? I see prices all over the place and those cars are another type of car that doesn't go by blue book value. What would you guys pay for a:

94 TA - 6 speed - t tops - excellent condition - 80k miles

96 TA - same

98 TA - same

00 TA - same

This will help me get a baseline what to look for in price. Thanks!

I am thinking of selling my 99 GSX and 97 GSX and having a newer car, with a/c,LOL... I'll have around 25k, so i was thinking maybe a supra or a new GTO, i want something good with gas, thats why i didn't say evo or sti but supra and gto probably isn't great either. I get 22mpg with both my GSX's,what car would you guys get with 25k, with the things i said. Shoulf just keep my GSx's maybe, idk so many options

'05 Volvo S40
'04 Acura TL
'06 Acura TSX
'04 Lexus IS300
'06 Nissan Altima SE-R
'06 Mazda MAZDASPEED6

Get an 06-07 Civic Si, GREAT on gas, super safe, 4 door option if you have kids or plan on having kids, relatively cheap, and still fun to drive.

I second that... that would be my choice too
