- This was my second DSM, and the one that really taught me the lifestyle of a true DSMer. Bought her 100% stock on November 22nd, 2013, from somebody that brought it down to Miami from New York. I daily drove her for close to 5 years, right up to March 28th, 2018. I had many ups and downs with her, but overall she was very good to me, had all the bells and whistles (AC, Power Steering, etc..) Being my only car for so long, she took me everywhere, drove up to Orlando (4 hour drive, from Miami), drove down to Key West (furthest point south, close to 4 hours away), drove to Naples (3 hours away), as well as up to the West Palm Beach International Raceway track (closest 1/4 mile track to Miami, 2 hours away) about twice a month. So, needless to say that she was a very reliable car, i made sure to keep up with all the maintenance!
Sadly, on the evening of March 28th, 2018, I was driving home from work, and a lost/confused uber driver ran a stop sign and stopped almost facing directly at me as I drove at him and eventually into him, as I was unable to steer away from him fast enough.. :(.
Car was deemed a total loss by insurance, after a long month of tugging back and forth to agree on a settlement, Uber insurance payed me and discounted some to let me keep the car. I then rented a storage unit, and over the course of the summer (May, June, July 2018) I parted it out.
I was fortunate enough to find a GSX for sale close by my house.. it was completely random and unusual for one to pop up so close to my area. The car was in rough shape, in pieces, but having my wrecked silver 2G as a parts car I put the new acquisition together and actually drove it from Miami to Ohio in August to attend The Shootout for the first time!!
