- Background
- After my father passed away as a child I recieved SSI benefits. I guess they had underpaid me for some time. I got a check in the mail when I was 32 years old and decided my dad could buy me a car (thanks pops). I was looking for a 3000GT I wasn't able to find in decent shape, I stumbled on my eclipse. Being an AZ car, the interior was fairly ratty, but the body work was done with fresh green paint a few shades darker than OEM.
I let it sit for around 3 years in a garage as a collector. I took it out of storage 3 years ago and have daily driven it since. Currently fabricating an OEM looking dash using thermoplastics, fabing bushings and other parts like window regulator bushings that aren't made anymore using the correct materials and technical drawings I can find.
Plans are to put this vehicle together the way the engineers would or should have built it as a proper GT car today less the SUV and electronic nannies.
